These are gorgeous boots and I really wish I could keep them, but I think I have to send them back and get something else because they are just too narrow. Even the wide size (which is what I have) is just way too narrow. I have a wide foot, and usually wide versions of shoes fit me perfectly; the wide on these is equivalent to somewhere between narrow to medium in most other brands of shoes. So just beware. If you have really narrow feet, these boots would be great for you. But if your feet are wide, I would go with something other than Lucchese. This is the 3rd pair of Lucchese boots I have tried on and they all just run very narrow. The only reason I'm giving these 4 stars instead of 5 is that I just wish they'd either make a few pair a bit wider, or at least be honest; this isn't a wide shoe!

I am ecstatic with my Zappos purchase and the boots themselves. I found the other reviews to be very helpful with my decisions in which size to select, and so this prompted me to add my own review! I have very narrow feet, a narrow heel and low instep, so I have never been successful in finding a pair of boots to fit. I have never ordered shoes online due to this challenge in fitting shoes. After being referred to Lucchese boots as the best fitting boot, and though I was skeptical, I was willing to try because of Zappos' fabulous return policy (also a referral). Let me just say that I have never felt so comfortable in any shoe before, and I am thrilled every time I put on my boots. From the first moment I put them on, they were comfortable and fit and felt supportive without being tight anywhere. I ordered my usual size (8) and they were perfect. Though I have been told that all boots should have a little slipping in the heel, that slip is often what gives me blisters and then I never feel like wearing them again. With these Lucchese boots, I have had no blisters with the little slip, nor anywhere else. I would refer these boots, as well as Zappos to anyone. Thank you!

These boots are great! Just the right amount of distressed leather to make them look like you've had them a while. They run a half size large. The heel slips the tiniest bit when you first try them, don't let that discourage you, once the sole gets broken in, they will be the only thing you'll want to wear! I love these boots!

These boots are wonderful! The fit is true to size and I was able to wear them with very little breaking-in. They are a great color and the goatskin has a beautiful finish. If you want a great cowboy boot in a beautiful dark brown color, treat yourself to these - you won\'t be sorry. Zappos was its usual superb shopping experience with fast overnight delivery.

I love these boots! I have a high instep and a wide foot, I was sure I would have to send them back. Nit! They fit great and are so comfortable. I usually wear an 8.5 m but I bought 8.5 w and I am glad I did. I loved these boots so much I bought another pair in Black Ostrich. Lucchese is the only brand of boot I ever need to buy. Fit, comfort, quality and style by far outrank the competition. Zappos, thanks for being #1 in customer service.

For my first pair of cowboy boots I wanted a pair with the following attributes: Rich color, high quality/craftsmanship, beautiful detailing, soft leather, comfortable and stylish (feminine but still look like authentic cowboy boots). I did a ton of research before finally ordering the Mad dog brown goatskin Lucchese N4554. I received them the very next day (GREAT ZAPPOS SERVICE AS USUAL!!!!!!). I could not be happier with the boots. They are stunners. The rich dark brown color can be worn with anything. They are amazing boots. As far as fit, my normal size is an 8 and I ordered an 8 in the boots and they fit perfect. I have a high instep (top of foot) and so was worried about being able to get the boot on but absolutely no problems. They truly fit like a glove and are light and extremely comfortable to wear. I can\'t imagine purchasing anything other than Lucchese boots. In fact, I just placed an order for the same boot but in the Mad dog tan color! Thanks Lucchese for making such beautiful boots and thank you Zappos for having such a great selection to choose from and for such great customer service.

I love these boots! They are beautiful and very comfortable. They are true to size and I have regular to wide feet and I was very happy that I ordered the wide width. If you don't have narrow feet, I suggest you order the wide width. Worth every penny!

This is the third pair of Lucchese boots I've had the pleasure of wearing, and I will never own any other brand of western boot. The craftsmanship is top quality, the fit is impeccable, and the look of the boot itself is beautiful and timeless. I ordered my normal size and can wear them with wool socks. Also, Zappos has the best price on the market - cheaper than other western outfitters.

Overall this was a great buy. Customer service is so helpful. I bought this boot in my normal size (6.5) and it fit like a glove. They should feel snug the first few times you wear them, and even mine are still a little snug with boot socks, but I'd personally rather have a more snug boot than one that's too loose and kicking up in heel too much. Don't concentrate on the heel. Just make sure your toes aren't squished in the toe-box, and concentrate on how the topside of the boot conforms to the top of your foot. That part should be comfortably snug, as that's what keeps the boot on your foot when you walk. NOT the heel. The heel will always kick up a little bit, especially in the beginning before the sole has had enough wear to bend and become more flexible. Mine has very little kick now. I recommend buying in your normal size (Lucchese is known for being very standard about sizing) and if you feel it's too snug order 1/2 a size up. Or be bold if you don't mind the temporary charge on the credit card and buy 2 pairs--one normal size, and one half a size up and you can't go wrong! Just return whichever feels less comfortable, and only walk on carpeted areas to ensure you get your money refunded. Hope this helps! You won't regret a Lucchese--you might with other brands, but you will never regret a Lucchese fit.

Just like most reviewers, I instantly fell in love with these boots straight out of the box. Absolutely no break-in involved. I'd imagine if it doesn't feel right out of the box, you probably have the wrong size. I can't say enough how perfect these boots are - looks, fit, comfort, quality. Absolutely cannot go wrong with these.

I was awed by the boots at the San Antonio Lucchese store...if I had the money I'd buy them all. This is my first pair of cowboy boots, and they are so comfortable and stylish. The brown is a perfect color, goes with everything. I get compliments all the time, even though NY is not really cowboy country. The size is true to fit. The Lucchese salesman said for $330+ boot, you do NOT want to break them in, they should fit right away. These boots clean up beautifully; I sometimes get caught in dirt and mud. I use the Bickmans cleaner and conditioner which Lucchese recommends. They look new every time. Lucchese was so worth the money. And they will resole them for your lifetime for free. I am now waiting for my second pair; I couldn't resist the champagne color to wear for my wedding this summer! I can't wait!

I think I'm in love!!
As so many others have said...comfortable right out of the box. I did buy the regular width and the wide width...the regular width was extremely narrow IMHO but the wides fit like a glove...more like I had expected the regulars to fit. Honestly didn't expect them to be quite this comfortable. I have a very high arch so most of the time I have problems with the top of my foot being so uncomfortable until I've stretched the boots out some...but not these...perfect! Have some good cushioning and conforming to my foot nicely. Don't like the slippery bottoms but I can scuff those up. Wish they had made the bottoms with a rubber coating like Ariat's do...and were cheaper like Ariat's...but I'm hooked so I'm going to pay the price and enjoy my walking experience. Great color too...solves my problem of buying one black pair and one brown pair...these go both ways since they're darker in color...nice job Lucchese!

These boots are AMAZING.
This boot fits great and looks amazing. Immediately after taking them out of the package, these boots are soft (the leather is buttery and no need to break them in at all), well made, and overall gorgeous. They look fantastic with a pair of jeans. I first ordered the Justin boot and sent it back b/c the leather was extremely stiff and it looked so much like a work boot. Once I saw and tried on these, there was no comparison. I highly recommend spending the extra money. There is a bit of heel slip when you first try these on but after wearing them around the house 15-20 minutes a day, they fit great. The fast service was great also -- thanks, Zappos!

Nice looking, but very uncomfortable. May send them back, just been wearing them around the house to break them in. First pair I bought was too big in my normal size 7 1/2. Got them 1/2 size smaller and they were perfect until the seaming came undone. Got these in 7, and they are so narrow. Too bad, loved the color.

Gorgeous boots -
Really pretty, and feel great right out of the package. They fit bigger than expected. I wear a 7.5 or an 8, and have wide feet. I bought the 7.5 W, and they turned out to be way too big. I had to return them, sadly, because the 7 W isn't available in this style.

Great cowboy boots -
My first pair of cowboy boots & I love them. Very comfortable, true to size. I originally wanted the tan colour, but had difficulty finding a pair without too many leather marks on the toe cap so eventually settled for this chocolate colour, which looks great with jeans.

GREAT COWBY BOOTS!
These are the perfect boots. They feel great right out of the box and just get better and better. I had been told by my local shoe salesman that cowboy boots should be purchased 1/2 size smaller than normal (that is all they had for me anyway, I should have suspected something) so that is what I bought last year. After a year of pinched toes, I bought a new pair at Zappos and bought my true size and guess what?! They fit perfectly! I love Zappos and Lucchese!

Great Boots!
I love these boots! They are a beautiful dark chocolate brown and so easy to wear from the first time I put them on. Order the size you normally wear - they DON'T run large - they run very true to size. Comfortable soft fit and, of course, Lucchese gorgeous!

These boots rock!!
This is my 2nd pair of Lucchese and they will not be my last. My first pair was size 7.5, which is my usual size in most shoes, but I was a bit concerned about the heel pull-up when I walked, so I got these in a size 7. They were a tad tight, but have since loosened up nicely and fit my foot and leg perfectly - though I should mention I have very slim feet and calves. The shaft of this boot was much narrower than the size 7.5 I got. As for the look of the boot, I can't wear them without getting compliments and I wear them UNDER my jeans, not over. They are so stylin' I can't even stand it. I've inspired more people to get cowboy boots and it's amazing. I considered getting black, but these are a beautiful compromise; such a deep, dark, luscious brown it could be mistaken for black, but goes with even more clothing. I highly recommend. And can I just say not only do these boots rock, but Zappos rocks. Next day air at no extra cost is such a fantastic treat!!

First pair of boots, read the reviews others posted and decided to try this. The reasons why I think they are so great are: Very soft leather, high arch, look great with my long linen skirts and cowgirl stuff. I went to a wide width and glad I did. Snug at ankle. Thanks Zappos for my upgrade in delivery.

Lucchese boots were recommended by a friend for a recent visit to a dude ranch, and from the first time I put them on, these boots did not disappoint. They are both truly comfortable and fabulous looking. I found them true to size, although I did take advantage of Zappos free shipping to try some other sizes/widths as well. Everyone in our family ended up with this boot, all happy with our choice.

Feel like butta -
Beautiful. Fit like a dream. The first time I put them on, they felt tight in the width and slipped around the heel. I wore them around the house for 10-15 minutes each day for about a week. Now they feel amazing. They feel like butta; like a big sticka butta. They are just as comfortable as my favorite athletic shoe.
