Doesn\'t last long, but in the one season worn it was by far the most comfortable sandal I\'ve ever worn. I wish I could cough up the $ for another pair. The value just isn\'t there.

I ordered a pair of 47. I previously owned a different pair of Mephisto’s. I have huge narrow feet. They fit well except they were a tad short. I returned them for 48's. Zappos has an easy return policy.

Great sandal, replacement for another pair of Mephisto sandals that are 10 years old and just worn looking, needed something a little nicer looking for summer. Perfect fit right out of the box.

I gave these as a gift to my college-age son and he LOVES them! He wears them every day in Ithaca, and loves the comfort, great look and style. We had to return the 12 (his usual size) for the 11.5, since they seem to run a little large. These sandals give good protection when walking on all the hills and they are so well made that they should last a long time. As a plantar fasciitis victim myself, I wanted to give the gift of an excellent made sandal with protection, and comfort, which is what I now look for in anything I wear. The great styling is a bonus! Mephistos are worth the price for all that to me!

Comfy and handy, but runs big -
Extremely comfortable and supportive; like that famous cork shoe, but with padding. The one-button release is fantastic if you fly a lot (security inspection). BUT my experience is they run a whole size large. I wear a 44, but next pair will be a 43. Other than that worth the dough. But why does everyone have to splash his/her name all over the products?

Ordered these for my husband in the tan color. He loves them! There was no breaking in period... just put 'em on and go. They are really expensive, but my husband says he would buy them again.

Mephisto Shark and Zeus -
First time with Zappos, but 12 years with Mephisto.
Like the Zeus but hard to find. Like the Shark for fit and comfort. Find the size 1/2 too much. Wish the Shark back would adjust. Average a pair a year use. My feet have only been pain free with Mephisto. Foot doesn't go from side to side. Worth every penny, but free shipping is a plus.

Lost one kayaking and came home to order another pair right away. I would still be down river searching since they are pretty expensive. But they are a treasure for all of us who are getting older and feet cushioning not as it used to be. My husband puts his on before going downstairs for his morning cup of coffee.

Great shoe!
My husband bought these sandals last year and recently lost one while we were kayaking. We immediately got online with Zappos and ordered another pair. My husband comes home from work and puts on these shoes. He loves them! They are comfortable, supportive and look great.

Yes, the other rave reviews were right...
It really is the best sandal. Comfy, great support, great padding for those sore metatarsals, no chaffing from the straps, not heavy - looks good - all the nice stuff. And the easy on-off with the button - a nice touch. Is it worth the price? Oh yes.

My husband returned the Sam Mephisto but really likes the Shark a whole lot, the fact that there was no break in needed and the sole is GREAT. He wore Clarks for years and I think the switch is made; the cork in the foot bed is the key. Hope to find a closed toe Mephisto sandal with covered cork for a dressier look.

Excellent shoe in every way. A bit too pricey for sandals I would say though. Very comfortable, good arch support, light and overall just wonderful.

Addicted to Mephisto -
After 5 knee surgeries and low back surgery, I happened to buy my first pair of Mephisto shoes two and a half years ago. I was really put off by the price - but the salesman guaranteed they'd be the most comfortable shoes I'd ever wear-and even top rated running shoes weren't letting me walk far without a lot of pain. For once - a salesman was actually right. I now wear only Mephistos and was happy to find a sandal for summer wear. These sandals equal the full shoes in comfort and construction. I'm hooked on Mephisto until something as comfortable comes along at a lower price.

Greatest Sandal Known to Man-
Looks Great, feels unbelievable!! I had just purchased a pair of Skechers Sandals two weeks before I saw the Mephisto Shark at a resort shoe store. I wondered "How can any sandal be worth 5 times the price of the new sandals that I was wearing?" Well, I decided to try on the Shark and I told my wife "I gotta get these", even though I was wearing a brand new pair. I now wear the Sharks whenever I can and save my pair of Brand X Sandals for rainy days. The Mephisto Shark is worth every penny I paid for them. I would DEFINITELY buy another pair.

These are the best sandals I have ever owned. I bought the first pair several years ago and enjoyed them so much (and was afraid Mephisto would quit making them) so I bought a second pair. Even though the first pair is several years old, they are still holding up very well. They are fantastic shoes.

I do not think any shoes is worth this kind of money but these come the closest of any shoe I have tried. I have a high arch and usually wear arch supports. It is hard to so with sandals. I do not have to ware supports with these sharks.
The most comfortable shoe I have worn.

All I asked for. I do wish they would change the inner sole to a dark color. The green gets looking pretty ratty looking long before the sandals wears out.

The world's most comfortable sandal -
I have been wearing the Mephisto Shark for several years. We live in the Southwest and they get a lot of use. They are extremely comfortable and the sole has great traction.

I got these for my husband's birthday. He wanted to know what I paid for them, before he tried them on, because they looked expensive. I wouldn't tell him...Once he tried them on...he wouldn't take them off. He didn't ask the price again.
Very comfortable--worth the price too.

I was born with two club feet and while I have done my share of dancing, hiking, and generally having fun with feet that work okay, the many operations left them rather unpretty, a little misshapen and definitely wider/shorter than most feet in proportion to the carrying bodies. Finding shoes that fit and are comfortable is a rarity for me. I search through stores regularly, more often than not
leaving empty handed. I took a chance with Zappos. There were some excellent deals and the size claimed to be what I might need. A box arrived. It said "Packed with Happiness." Inside was my order – 4 pairs of shoes and a pair of boots. They not only all fit, they all fit amazingly well. The box may very well have been packed with happiness, but let me tell you, not as much happiness as it was opened with!!! Thank you oh so much. You can't imagine what this is for me.
