Good shoe. Have had this style before for years. A classic. However, this one, like some others, has a hard time keeping the laces tied. I don't get it.

Good value shoe -
This shoe is a good value for the price. I am currently on my second pair of this model. I wear the shoes every day and they have held up well. The only thing I do is use a shine sponge on them every other day or so to keep them looking shiny and new.

Low quality soles -
The shoes look nice and are fairly comfortable, but they don't last. I bought them a few months ago and the soles and the heels are already worn out. I'll probably throw them away in a week.

Not the Bostonian I know -
I have been wearing Bostonian shoes for over 20 years, guess I am old. So I knew what I wanted so I felt comfortable ordering over the web, after all I was replacing a pair of shoes I had worn the previous four years. Well this was not the case, the shoes are not what I remember as they are smaller, made of thinner material. Now I am stuck with a pair of shoes I cannot use. Never dong this again, sorry but be warned.

This shoe was a perfect value for me and very comfortable. I find the shoes to be comfortable to walk in and they maintain a decent shine with little assistance. Great shoe for the price and Zappos fabulous service is the icing on the cake!

Very Comfortable -
Great shoe very comfortable and looks sharp with a suit. Only drawback is the fairly loud clack of the heel on hard surfaces but that may fade with use.

I have purchased Bostonian shoes from a shoe store in the past. The pair I ordered on line is great. I found the multiple views of the different styles to be very helpful in making a selection. I would definitely order though your company the next time I purchase a pair of shoes.

I was pleasantly surprised how quickly my Zappos order was filled. I ordered on Saturday afternoon and my shoes arrived on Monday. While I have several other pairs made by the same company, Zappos easy return policy removed any discomfort I may have had about buying shoes online. I'll definitely do it again.

Best lace up for the price -
I've worn a lot of lace up dress shoes over the last 45 years. These are the best for comfort, fit, and durability, and they look damn spiffy too. The first pair of Cantons I wore, I got as a substitute for a defective pair of shoes (similar style, different brand) from Larry's Shoes in San Antonio. I was so impressed with the comfort, durability and style, that I have bought 2 more pairs in the intervening years. The cap toe takes a brilliant shine (if that's your thing) and the styling is classic yet not stuffy or "boxy" looking.

Classy shoes -
This is a great shoe at a great price. The only reason I gave it four stars for comfort is because after all it is a dress shoe not slippers. One thing to remember is this is a leather sole shoe not rubber. Just something to take into consideration if you do a lot of walking.

Good shoe for the money -
I have owned this shoe for about a year, I wear them almost everyday to the office. Soles wear out quickly with daily wear since soles are leather. Very comfortable, the wide width is perfect for wider feet like mine.

Clergyman here and these are my "preaching shoes". I was very happy with previous Bostonians, having them resoled a number of times. Buying at Zappos saved me time and money. Very happy with the shoe...hope my preaching does as well!

Bostonians & Zappos are Great!
I'm on my fifth pair of Bostonians and love them. They feel great, look great, and wear well. I wear size 15 dress shoes daily and these are absolutely the best available for a reasonable price (something I'm not used to!). First time Zappos buyer and the turnaround and packaging was outstanding. Thanks!!!

I am a Social Ballroom dancer as well as a working class American. I wear this shoe on any and all dress occasions as well as on the dance floor. This shoe is extremely durable. With the wear and tear I put into them, they last about a year and a half. They take a bit of wearing in though. A+ shoe!

Excellent value in a dress shoe -
This shoe can't be beat for value. The quality of this made-in-India all-leather shoe is as good as I've seen on shoes costing 3 times as much. I bought it for dancing and formal dress occasions for which it's perfect with its classic balmoral lacing, cap toe, subtle perforations and glossy black finish. The shoes required a little break-in initially, which I did mostly with full wood shoe trees, and then fit like a glove. They're very light and the full leather soles offer the perfect combination of slip-n-grip on the dance floor. They are very comfortable and offer good arch support.

The person I spoke with was so great, she upgraded the shipping at no cost and said if these didn't work to call back and they'd get another pair to us before the deadline.
