I purchased the Ultimate Thong early in the summer and was immediately pleased. They are very comfortable, the strapping is much more secure then typical flip-flops and there was no break in required. I have since become a bit disappointed, however, as the sole of one of the shoes seems to melt periodically? This has led to some serious wear on one sandal and I'm quite sure that I won't be getting the multiple years from this sandal that I have come to expect from Tevas historically.

Definitely not for a day at the beach. They are supposed to be extremely sturdy and all terrain sorts, but they have started to wear out in less than 2 weeks of purchase. I wear them daily, to work and I do not live on a mountain or on the banks of a river so there is no reason I see for it to wear off. And the worst part is the rubber-like material under my foot hurts and almost peels my skin.

I have sold and worn tevas since my friend Mark Thatcher first made them. I am sorry to say the new Ultimate thong is a Ultimate failor. I have gone through 4 pairs in two months, soles turn to chewing gum like and fall off. Tevas customer service is the worst, after sending back for warranty they lost them and took 2 months to replace. 2 new pairs fell apart in 1 month.

I just purchased my third pair of Ultimates and have been wearing this model of sandal for over 10 years. The beauty of these is the strap that runs over the forefoot. They keep the sandal attached more closely and securely to your foot which permits a greater range of activity. For example, walking through water or light running is possible which is difficult with normal flop flops. These are also constructed well. Each pair I have owned has lasted more than five years with heavy use. These are my "go-to" footwear when I am not in the office. The only thing I miss with the newest version is a lack of color choices that used to be available in the earlier models. Nevertheless, the newest version pictured is pretty neutral and that works fine.

Love the sandals. The ankle strap keeps them on in the surf at the beach. Straps are fine and comfortable soles. You get use to the straps and how to adjust them. No real info on how to set them up that I could find. Had them 3 months, wear them everyday down here on the gulf coast. One of the sandals bottoms is peeling off. Not happy with this. They are made with the thin tread bottom glued to a larger piece of stiff foam. The thread bottom is coming off and wearing through at the heel.

These flip flops are extremely comfortable and good looking! I also very much like that it is adjustable. The adjustable strap has allowed it to fit my very narrow foot.

Bad Wear -
I purchased the sandals as a big believer in Teva. Owning several pairs of their sandals, these don't come anywhere near them. They feel really comfortable at first, but the more you wear them, the more they break in. I wear them everyday in the summer for casual walking, my dogs. They wore out within two and a half months. Now, they are completely worn out, a little over a year later. Not worth the money!!!

Comfortable & durable -
The shoe has a nice look to it. It fits snugly to your foot and stays in contact with much of your sole as you walk. The heel strap is awkward to use and looks like it doesn't belong, kind of like putting a Volkswagen bumper on a Chevy Silverado pick-up. But it is functional. I just don't use it. You may want to consider a half size larger. The fit might be too tight if your foot size requires an exact fit.

Really awkward feeling -
It took me only minutes to decide to ship these babies back. They hurt between the toes, and the shape, although narrow enough for my narrow feet, felt off, uncomfortable, and strange. Walking left me wondering if they were going to fall off. They are also a bit heavy, which didn't bother me but might annoy some folks. For this price, you can probably find a better sandal.

I think these are the coolest sandals made. You also do not see a lot of people wearing them. Zappos has the best customer service I have ever seen. I only use them for all of my purchases now. Try them and you will see what I mean.

Not your ordinary thong!
It truely is a sport sandal. Regardless of the terrain, whether it be concrete or the water. Plus no more annoying "flip flop" noise when you walk.

The Thong sandals is the best Thong I ever owned. It is water resistance and quick drying, very comfortable, it is easily maintained meaning all i need to clean sandal is water and soap and a soft brush, the sole is replaceable if worn down. The foot bed is black which is very great because it doesn't show dirt.

great thong a little heavy -
This thong is everything that I have come to expect from Teva. They are a little on the heavy side. I wore them a whole day and my legs felt like I had done some hard core working out.

Not a fan.
I was not sure what to make of the extra strap when I bought the shoe, but thought I would give it a chance. Bad idea. The extra strap created pressure points on the sides and top of my foot. After wearing the shoes for a day, my feet became sore from the extra pressure. I was able to maintain good traction in a wet environment, and only slipped once on a wet spot. (Plus/Minues, you decide, the shoes float. Good if they fall in the water, bad if you take a quick swim in them.)

Truly the Ultimate Thong -
Being a Teva-lifer, I was excited to try these out. They're very comfortable - heel strap is a huge plus if you don't like the "flip-flop". I can't wait to put them to work this summer. I generally wear an 11 1/2 in shoes/hiking boots, so I ordered the 12 to be safe and they fit great. If you have wide feet, I would recommend ordering up if you normally wear a "half" size.

Awesome -
Takes a couple hours or so to break in the thong, but after that, they are extremely comfortable. From my experience, this is Teva's best quality and most comfortable thong.

These look great, but are far too narrow for me. If I had thinner feet, I would keep them and love them! They seem very good quality and sturdy.
