Like all Ariats I have, these are very comfy and good looking, with a fit that is true to size. If I could have more pairs of short boots these would stay with me instead of being returned.

These are the third pair of this boots that I have ordered. I love them; they are comfortable and sturdy. I do find that they are a bit uncomfortable if I wear them all day, but that is simply because I have gotten used to wearing shoes with a lower heel.

Cuts above the ankle -
This boot looks good, has great arch support, but the ankle comes up too high above the ankle and cuts into the shin. For me, it is very painful and I will be returning them. Though there is some stretch (minimal) in the flap, it is stiff and angled toward the back instead of upward.

These are very good looking, I get lots of compliments. They fit well although at first I thought they were tight around the high ankle, but after several wearings (they looked so good I wore them anyway!), they have loosened around the ankle and now feel fine. Overall a great boot. \r\n\r\n

Nice looking boots and good quality. I had to return the first pair I got because one of the insoles had a wrinkle in it when it was glued in, so it couldn't be worn without discomfort. This was not Zappos fault, but when I called to get a return authorization they apologized and upgraded my account to VIP status with free overnight shipping on all future orders. Zappos rocks that way! Anyway, the boots are nice, Zappos is great, and overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Love them! I worried about size because I am between a 9 and 9.5. These fit perfectly; the quality in craftsmanship really is apparent in looks and comfort.

This is my fourth pair of Ariats. The others (one a western boot and the others sandals) are size 7.5 and this pair is a 7. I have had to go around the house in these for maybe half an hour or an hour at a time to help them soften up around the top, but I'm glad I went down the half size. Love 'em. They look cool for both casual and work and the heel is just the right height for walking and not too high to comfortably drive. I love Ariats.

Have worn many pair of Ariat boots and have worn them hard. This is the only pair I have been disappointed with. I bought the brown and the black boots. After a few months of moderate wear, the covering of the heels on the black pair have both delaminated showing white plastic below. Not a good look.

Ariat boots and shoes are wonderful for me as they are stylish, comfortable and have a great arch support system. They also are built to last and I wear these everywhere. So glad they came back with the button design on the side.

I like Ariats anyway and had an earlier version of this boot several years ago that I adored...but the snaps broke and no one could fix them. I didn't hesitate, though...because the design is great. This boot isn't quite the design the earlier version was...the arch is a lower look from the outside and the leather not quite as fine, but I'm happy with them nonetheless. The ankle fit is tight, as some have mentioned, but it loosened up quickly. I don't have small ankles, but this boot is not for a thicker-ankled person. The fit and support of the inner boot itself is excellent, after a few hours of initial wear. Had I not known this from reviews and knowing Ariats...I might have sent it back thinking it was too stiff. After wearing it in the house for a few hours...the boot figured out who its owner was and complied beautifully. I've worn them all day long now and it's a happy thing.

These boots are comfortable, classy and fit perfectly. I was very pleased with the promptness of the shipping. The outside packaging could have been a bit sturdier and arrived a bit crunched, but the product boxes and boots inside the package were fine. Great value for the price.

Found the perfect shoe/boot.
These shoes fit great, look great and are totally comfortable right out of the box, but then they are made by Ariat. I have three other pairs of boots made by this company and therefore when I needed a dress boot I looked to them as well. My only hitch was with the sizing. My other boots are all 6.5 but the first pair I ordered at this size were too small. I shipped them back and requested a size 7. The customer service at Zappos just shifted my credit card purchase to the new pair and even shipped them two days express so I would have them in time for the opening reception of my art exhibit. I stood in these shoes for three hours the very first time I wore them and they were just like a broken in shoe. So, to sum up, if you want quality shoes that fit and feel right, along with style and good looks and craftsmanship, just buy Ariat.

Craftsmanship, Comfort, Sturdy -
Gorgeous craftsmanship; cushioned innersole comfort (with a quality leather topping); rubbery, gripping, bottom sole; thick, high-quality leather.
In a snow-sleet-hail storm they got soaked--but only on the outside. My feet stayed warm and dry. Next day, the discoloring from the soaking was gone. They literally looked brand new!
A bit heavier than my favorite-type shoe (light, thin-skinned dance-type shoes). But a real find in its category.
I wear 7 1/2-8. Bought an 8 just to be safe. Too big. Exchanged for 7 1/2--it's perfect.
And Zappos--wonderful!--even gave me the lower "sale price" of the first pair, although I hadn't sent it back yet. I wanted to compare the two sizes side-by-side.

I bought this because it's the closest I could find to a pair of Ariat short boots that I own and love--but outgrew. These aren't quite as supportive as the older pair, but they fit and feel great. I love this brand.

I have 2 Ariat mules that I love. These were not as cushioned and they felt a bit too snug with my average-thickness socks. I was looking for more of an everyday outdoor but also indoor bad weather boot. I returned them. I bet that if I had broken them in they would have softened up and stretched out just right but I wanted to wear them and feel great in them right away. Thanks for letting me try them Zappos. You are the greatest!

Love this boot -
Spat 2 is my first Ariat product. It is very well-made and I will buy more Ariat. My co-workers noticed these right away and love them. My feet love them too. For years I have not been able to get through a day at work without aspirin, because of foot pain. I have plantar fasciitis and a high arch, can't wear heels at all (except these). The first time I wore these, I forgot the aspirin, was happy all day, and was unusually energetic even when I got home. It was remarkable! This was a day after having the usual foot pain with another pair of shoes that I wear often. And I don't wear cheap bad shoes.
I gave these 4 stars rather than 5 in comfort because the top front of the boot hurt my ankle. It even caused a sore. It has gotten better as the leather softens. I expect the problem to disappear.
Overall I gave 4 stars rather than 5 because of that ankle pain and also the snaps, (which are a stylish touch) are a tiny bit hard to fasten. No big deal, just enough to keep the score from being perfect. Probably I am just not used to them. The snaps are much easier than other fasteners, such as laces, and these boots can't be step-ins. I never met the perfect shoe, and these are pretty darn close to perfect. I would like to buy these in another color also.
I was worried that the toe/ball of the foot area would be too narrow. From the top the shoe looked too stylishly narrow and pointed to fit my foot. But it does fit beautifully in the entire shoe from toe to heel.
The leather is fine and soft with a lovely finish. No loose or badly done stitches. The shoe had no discernible imperfections.

My second pair of Keen shoes just arrived today and they are great!!!! Again, right out of the box they are so comfortable. They fit perfect, and I’ve never had a pair of shoes in my life fit as well as Keen shoes. It's like your walking on air. I love them!!! Thanks Zappos for your great service. Beautiful boots -
Love these! They always get compliments. The leather around the ankle took a couple of wearings to break in, but otherwise they were perfectly comfortable right out of the box. Often I take a half size smaller in Ariats, but these are perfect in my usual size 8.

This boot rocks!
For any Ariat fan, you won't be disappointed in this stylish boot. I own many pairs of Ariats, from English riding tall boots to clogs to sandals to paddock boots, and each pair is amazingly consistent in fit and performance. Ariat is the ONLY shoe brand that I can order online and know absolutely for sure that it will fit perfectly, with no wear-in time needed in order for them to fit comfortably, like a glove. This boot is elegant enough to wear to work in the S.F. financial district, yet causal enough to wear with knock-around jeans. I'm even tempted to wear it riding!

NEED COMFORT -
I ordered these boots after reading about them. They are comfortable and have to be. I stand on concrete 8-9 hours per day and my feet only slightly hurt. I am ordering some more Ariat's!
