The first Birkenstock I ever owned was an Arizona that I bought because I was desperate. My feet are flat, very flexible and wide, and every year it was getting more and more difficult to walk, which I love to do. When I bought them I didn't know how they would break in and the fit took some getting used to, but after a while I began to notice that not just my feet but my back, knee and hip improved which, believe me, is huge. Since then I've bought a couple more styles for work and I certainly will buy more. They do look funky, which originally gave me pause, but I have since decided that funky and feeling good is excellent, and maybe even beautiful.

\\r\\nThe only problem with a Birkenstock sandal is the fact that any other shoe feels uncomfortable in comparison. I have tried a wide variety. In addition to strong arch support, the Arizona also supports the toes with a raised toe bar. I have Morton\\\'s neuroma in my right foot and these sandals take away the ache and seem to prevent the numbness that occurs when I wear regular shoes for an extended period even with arch support inserts. The footbed has an interesting combination of firmness and malleability. The longer one wears them, the more they conform to the topography of one\\\'s foot. You have to like the way a sandal looks to like the way the Arizona looks. I give these sandals a three out of five to be neutral, but this is subjective. The comfort, on the other hand, is objective truth. They are well made and definitely worth the price. I will be buying more Birkenstock shoes in the future.

The classic Birkenstock! I have had a pair of these for 20 years and finally bought a pair for my 14 year old daughter! She has wanted them for quite a while, but I was waiting for her foot to stop growing. She loves them and I am happy to have her wear this shoe that is actually a healthy alternative to the modern, pointy, flats with no support. She will have beautiful feet when she is an adult and have no need for foot surgeons to correct bunions and other foot problems! Great comfortable shoe that lasts forever!

The Birkenstock Arizona sandles are awesome! I\'ve been wearing this model for about 7 yrs, and wouldn\'t change a thing. Make sure you get measured before buying them, as they run about 1 size bigger than your normal shoe. I\'m usually size 11 running shoe (EUR 45) but I wear EUR 43 in these Birk\'s. \r\n\r\nStylistically, the hunter brown is very dark, almost black. If you want a lighter brown look at their other browns. This isn\'t a stylish shoe by any measure, but it\'s incredibly comfortable.

Some people call them Jesus sandals, but I don\'t care. These are the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. If you\'re like me, flip flops are the most uncomfortable things ever! I have a very high arch so these sandals give me all the support I need. When sizing yourself for them I would go down a full size, they run big. I also have a narrow foot, and even the narrow fit has a little extra room. I hope this helps. They are worth the investment!

This was my second pair of Birks. Both pairs after a year or so began to deteriorate, especially the last pair where both cork beds split vertically under the heels. I can still wear them but the heel support is mostly gone because of the splitting. I'll probably have to throw them away. I have a heel striker stride so I guess they can't take that kind of beating. Birks are great for walking but if I stand for long periods my feet really begin to hurt, and my new job requires lots of vertical time, so I don't think I will be buying any more Birks. If I do it will be the soft-footbed model. One problem I noticed is that if they get wet, the footbeds become VERY slippery and it's nearly impossible to walk in them safely. I know, don't get them wet, but this isn't always avoidable. I also like how everyone says 'but you can have them rebuilt forever!' Sure, 1) try finding anyone who will do it and 2) the cost to rebuild is nearly the same as buying a new pair. Right, reduce, re-use, blah blah blah. To a point.

I\'ve been a Birkenstock wearer for most of my life. I finally retired my last pair after 10+ years. They are, without a doubt, the most comfortable shoes I own. This new pair is no exception. As always with new Birks, the break in period was a little bit of a downer, especially coming off my old pair which was so perfectly molded to my feet, but after a week of wear I am happy as can be with a pair of shoes! \r\n\r\nMost impressive is the Zappos service. I am so glad to have come across this web site and will continue buying shoes at zappos for many years to come.

This is my second pair of real Birkenstocks and although the first pair intially hurt my instep until they were "broken in" this pair was like a comfortable old pair of slippers from the very first time I wore them. The first pair was nubuck and this pair leather, not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. The fit is true. These were so comfortable my daughter tried to make off with them, so I wound up getting her an identical pair. Easier than fighting with her over them.

The Arizona is a comfortable shoe, it rubs across the toes a bit, but I'm sure that will wear in.
It's not the most feminine shoe, but all around I like it. Birkenstocks are the best shoe I have found for my fallen arches. I wish there were more feminine choices without the thing that goes between the toes.

My Favorite Sandal -
These Birkenstocks are comfortable, easy to slip into and conform to the sole of your foot. The leather makes it look dressier than other similar sandals. This is my go-to shoe all summer long.

My first Birks.
My pediatrist recommended that I wear Birkenstock's around the house. I have a bone spur on my heel and the Birks are good therapy. They have really helped relieve the pain.

This is the real deal. Classic, simple Birkenstock sandal. Why bother with anything more complex in looks or construction. I love euro brands; they fit my wide feet perfectly.

This sandal is a great value. It fits exactly true to size. It is perfect with jeans, shorts and all casual wear. The brown leather has somewhat of a distressed appearance which I liked.

I Love Birkenstocks -
It usually takes maybe 4 or 5 wearings for these shoes to start to conform to your foot and once they do they are the shoes I reach for all the time. The comfort is unbelievable and the support of this shoe for my foot is excellent. Both me and my husband wear this shoe year round.

Birkenstock Arizona Leather Sandal -
I have been wearing Birkenstock sandals for several years. After I wore my first sandal, I wondered why I hadn't bought them long ago. My Arizona sandal felt great and very comfortable from the time I first put them on. Also, the size fit perfectly and there was no breaking in process. Great, great shoe and I will continue to wear Birkenstock shoes.

Nice looking sandal but they hurt my feet! If I wouldn't have worn them to break them in, I would return the sandals.

I can think of nothing negative to say about my Birkenstock sandal. It fits perfectly and is very comfortable, and the color is right. I had one other pair of them, but they were my son's and were a little big. This sandal is perfect for me.

Physical Therapist Recommended Birkenstock -
My PT recommended the Birkenstock as one of the only sandals that I can wear. I developed tendonitis from running and have to wear orthotics now, but they don't fit in most sandals, so Birkenstocks it is. They're OK. They have great arch support, but it's taking a while for me to get the cork to conform to my foot, so they're not the most comfortable yet. They're ugly, but better healthy feet and ugly shoes than pretty shoes and unhealthy feet.
