Beautiful American craftsmanship, but uncomfortable for me -
Aesthetically, these are the nicest and most well-made boots I've ever seen. You CAN'T deny the quality of the craftsmanship when you first hold these in your hands. The leather that these boots are made of is thick yet supple and a gorgeous rich brown color. Unfortunately, they just weren't comfortable to me. The tongue was the worst offender because it dug into my ankles where it loops and stitches into the shoe (to make it waterproof). The heel also felt abnormally high and felt like I was wearing cowboy boots (which I don't like). I tried my hardest to like these boots. I even wore them for a week trying to break them in and soften the uncomfortable tongue but to no avail. I had to return them to the store. All I can say is TRY THEM ON and walk. If the tongue feels fine to you, then it's a no brainer...KEEP THEM!

Quality Shows -
After 20 years wearing L.L. Bean 6" leather boots I looked at many replacements to handle Chicago area winter weather and all-around walking. It's clear that these are quality boots and the foot support, welted sole, and detailing show it. Their boot restoration program will ensure these boots will last.

Excellent! Made in USA.
My 1st pair of Chippewa boots - took me a while to find genuine Made in USA boots but here they are... not cheap but probably well worth the price - boots seem extremely well crafted. I checked out reviews by other customers and ordered 1/2 size larger which turned out to be mistake because they seem true to size in my opinion. I returned 11's and got my actual 10.5's - perfect fit. Zappos sent replacement pair free ship overnight, top notch service Zappos - thanks!

Very sturdy boots. They seem like they'll be durable and work for me for a long time. They are heavier than the Timberland and Clark boots I've owned before. I should have ordered a half size larger to account for the thicker socks I wear with boots.

Great boot -
1st time shopping here. great service and fantastic delivery. Boots are great. Put them on and fell in love with them at 1st stance. 2 day break in and feel like house slippers on steroids. Have never had a boot that felt this good right off the bat.

This is my second pair. I hope the never change, or god forbid stop making, this shoe. This was my first time ordering from Zappos and they were great. No problems.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: They don't make the style any longer but it was an H.S Trask

Slippery when wet -
Nice quality shoe. The only thing I don't like is that there is not enough tread on the soles so traction is not the best. I would probably not buy these again because of that.

High quality boots -
I highly recommend these boots but you need to order 1 size larger and wider than Redwings or Wolverine. Also you can send these boots back to the factory for partial or complete rebuild, at a reasonable cost.

Love them from the start-
They are comfortable and I haven't even broken them in, yet. I don't know what the other reviewer meant calling them heavy- they are lighter than the other, similar boots I was wearing (Bass Scaffold- which they stopped making). It is getting harder and harder to find this style of boo - plain toe, nicer looking than a true hiking boot, but more rugged than some loafer type shoe. Glad I found this one. I feel wonderful about it being made in the USA, too! Glad I checked Zappos because I can't find a store that carries these in my area. First order from Zappos and they fit right- great experience!

Great Craftsmanship -
I recently bought this boot and am very happy with it. Overall, the most impressive thing about it is the materials used in making it. The leather is a very good quality and the lining very comfortable and warm. It's waterproof and will make a great winter boot for anyone in the trades. It's a bit on the heavy side, but it makes up for that in comfort. It's also AMERICAN made (Houston, TX)!

Good boot -
Needed a wide width boot. Tongue is a little uncomfortbale, but just used it in snow and keep feet warm and dry...most important. Not the best looking boot but ok.
