The new chocolate color of this short boot is gorgeous. The mix of light tan and deep brown is rich and unique and the height of the boot is perfect with skinny jeans or leggings. I have this boot in other colors, but this one is special. As always with this style, size down one half size. It would be nice if Frye would put more insole padding in the Harness, but it is still a comfortable boot.

Never owned a pair of Frye boots since every "Earl" I knew, back in the day, wore a pair. However, I knew they were very well made and lasted forever, which in this economy is a plus. I decided to check the Frye Boot section at Zappos and came across the Frye Harness 8R. I fell in love at first sight. They are a work of art, seriously. The finish is beautiful and unique. The quality is all that Frye boots are known for, first rate leather, sturdy leather sole and heel, the detailed stitching is all it should be and the sleek design makes for an awesome look. The fact that they are right above the ankle also sold me on this pair. Since Frye makes a heavier boot, the lower shaft cuts down on the weight. The antique chocolate finish is icing on the cake because the compliments are endless. \r\nOut of all the boots I own, the Frye Harness 8R, are the stand out, and they will probably out last me. Could not be more thrilled with this boot! \r\n\r\n

Received my Frye Boots and love them! Very comfortable and true to size. Put them on right away and no break-in time. This is my seventh pair of Frye boots and I love all of them.

Love 'em! So I have a wider foot and I can walk in these a goodly amount of time, but after a while it starts to get rather uncomfortable towards the ball of my foot. But, other than that, I love these! They are so cute on and were just what I was looking for.

Great boots!
Love the boots. They are a little loose in the heel, but they fit well with thicker socks. Zappos is awesome. They were out of stock in my size (11) so I put in for an alert when they were available. Within 24 hours I had an e-mail saying they had them available. I ordered and within just a couple days I had them in hand! Can't beat that.

So glad I bought it!
I saw a co-worker with Frye harness boots and immediately wanted a pair! The suede, broken-in look and feel of these is great, and the shorter height is so cute! I wear them everyday...definitely worth the splurge. I wear a 10, bought a 10, and while they feel a little big, they are more comfy that way.

These are great looking boots. They are very loose in the heel, however. Maybe ordering a 1/2 size smaller would help?

The best boots ever!
What can I say about these boots that hasn't already been said? These are the most comfortable and durable boots I have ever owned. I have three pairs, and they go well with both slacks and jeans.

What a wonderful boot! They look great with jeans and they are not as clumpy as my cowboy boots. I find myself wanting to wear them everywhere! The craftsmanship is also excellent.

GREAT, but just a LITTLE LOOSE...
I ordered my regular size (9) and found it to be too big. Zappos sent me next lower size and its good. Will look nice with jeans... much better than having a higher on the calf boot.
ZAPPOS is a great company.

Love this boot. It's like your favorite pair of knock around, worn-in jeans. It is a bit narrow but I have wide foot. I just know it will get better with wear.

Love my Frye boots -
I don't know how y'all got red ones. I'm jealous. Mine are antique saddle suede which I love because they don't look brand new. When I took them out of the box and put them on the floor I thought they would be too narrow but they fit my feel like they were made just for me. When I was a young hippie motorcycle momma I had a pair of the taller harness boots. Those lasted years and I'm expecting the same from this pair. Makes me feel young again.

These are even cuter in person. They look terrific under jeans (boot cut). I wear an 8 1/2 in most shoes (except Crocs and Merrells) the 8 fit perfect.

Rugged yet sexy -
This shoe is comfortable, and I'm a veritable comfort junkie with really big feet. The size 11 fit me like a glove, even though I had socks on and sometimes need a 12. I think it runs about 1/2 size larger to accommodate thick socks. It has that hand-made look. It will last for years. It stylish, but in a classic way. It's a feminine yet tough look. I'm just glad these things haven't caught on like Ugg boots did a couple of years back.

Love These Boots!
I was really hesitant to buy these since they were so expensive. I'm glad I finally decided to get them. They are so beautiful and comfortable. I wear them just about everyday. All around good investment. These boots are hot! I get compliments on them every time I wear them.
Some notes: they felt a little narrow due to the toe at first. After a couple of days they seemed to stretch out. Now they are perfect.
Also: as another reviewer commented, the red on these boots is just right-not too bright, not too tame.

I LOVE these boots! Be sure to buy your true size - not 1/2 size down as I read on other harness boot reviews. They are a little loose on the heel but I like the way they feel and the way they walk. Great mid heel height also. I get tons of compliments on these boots, and they are a beautiful color. When you open the box you will not believe how cool they are. Every time I wear them I get compliments, Frye are definitely pricey but hopefully they will last for years. Next time I'll get a pair with a higher shaft though this boot height is great for any boot cut pant. Zappos is great to do business with!

Hot color, cool boots!
Fantastic boots as usual from Frye but I am a big fan from way back. The boots run 1/2 size smaller as usual (am an 8, take a 7.5) Fit great out of the box. Some of their styles go on easier with a trouser or thin sock. Recommend wearing with a med. or thin sock for best fit. Not cheap but great quality, have pairs that have lasted 15 years w/heavy wear. Make the cheaper brands hard to go back to. (Wear my boots almost daily in fall/winter/early spring.) The red is just right, not too tame, not too bright. Usual great service from Zappos. Highly recommended all around.

My colleagues at work are drooling -
Because I am never at home for daytime deliveries, I had these boots sent to my workplace. Besides the fact that they arrived in about 36 hours, they were the highlight of our Friday lunch time action. I modeled them for all of my co-workers and their burnt brick red, marble-y look leather turned everyone's heads. From the motorcycling techie guy and the 20 year-old hip hop-inspired woman to the 60+ classicly styled administrator/hip grandmother and the 30ish retro chic administrative assistant, hands down, everyone was drooling! Later, several other people showed up in my office because they heard about these boots from others and they wanted to see for themselves. My colleagues can't wait until it is cold enough for me to show up in boots again! Way to make a Friday fun around here. As a professor at a university, several of my students tell me that they love to come to class to see what shoes I am wearing. These boots will certainly inspire great attendance this fall and winter (I hope that my classes aren't that boring that my shoes are the only draw).
