Only Allen Edmonds -
I've wanted a pair of burgundy and black saddle shoes for decades but the problem has been trying to get a pair in a "B" width. No manufacturer (that I've found) other than Allen Edmonds makes them in a narrow. I finally took the plunge and ordered them from Zappos and they were worth the investment. The shoes fit beautifully, look great and are extremely well made. As a couple of the reviewers have stated, if you take care of these, they should last a lifetime. I'm a repeat customer of Zappos and I have found their service and selection to be top drawer.

Great shoe!
A very substantial shoe that fit well. I didn't have the breaking-in issues that other reviewers referred to. In fact, this shoe was comfortable right out of the box for me. Has a professional look that has a subtle difference from the standard brogues you see in the office.

Great look and fit!
I love this shoe and love wearing it! Great look and great fit, not to mention a wonderful style! Wish AE would try out this shoe in different colors, like taupe with blue saddle. Somebody before said he wore this shoe barefoot -this is not a good idea, they will stink because the linings and insole will darken and hold sweat. Always wear socks with these or any other AE shoe, except possibly for loafers and sandals.

Beautiful shoe, beautifully made. Nice detailing. Doesn't look like everyone else's shoes that you see every day. I wear them only occasionally, and am always asked about them.

Excellent fit. Fits similar to AE Leeds shoe. About 1/2 size larger (longer and wider) in same size than AE Grayson and Park Avenue. No problems with break in. Comments on first day worn as being very unique and handsome. This is my 6th pair of AE over last 10 years. All 6 still in regular rotation. Great products.

Great Looking Shoe -
This is a great looking shoe. I tried others, but after seeing this shoe on line, I just couldn't resist. 3 Stars on comfort is because of the break in period. Otherwise, I think this shoe will match any color trousers I wear.

Cordovan and black dress saddle shoe -
This is a hard shoe to find in high quality construction using full leather that can be resoled many times. It is a good value in the long term with superior leather that takes an excellent shine. Comfort is a 4 and not a 5 because there is a 2 day break in for the heavy leather. After that, it is a 5. It is a work (office) shoe for me with gray slacks, open collar white shirt, dark blue blazer, and cordovan belt. Allen Edmonds will also custom make them with true cordovan leather rather than cordovan calfskin... but that is more expensive.

Great style and tough AE's -
My 5th pair of Allen Edmunds. Very comfortable and durable as all AE's all. Very understated, but classic style. Many of my older coworkers have told me that these are very "40's style". Different, but not obnoxious.

My First AEs -
This is my first pair of Allen Edmond shoes and I have only "Great Things" to say about them! The quality of the materials and workmanship is unsurpassed, as well as the look and fit. I have worn these shoes 3-4 days per week for the past 3 months and they only feel better each time. I love the "dress/casual" look, and since they are fully lined with soft leather, I always wear them without socks...very comfortable as my feet stay cool and dry!

Great Classic Shoe -
I've had a pair of these for years and usually get a compliment every time I wear them. Allen Edmonds shoes cost more but they will last the rest of your life if you take care of them. I learned that from my Dad and it's true.

Great pair of shoes!
I was a little taken back by the price tag of these shoes, however after the first day of wearing them I understand why they cost what they do.
Simply put, these are a great pair of shoes. They have broken in nicely and comfortably, they feel great and look great. They have also stood up to the scuffs and scrapes better than any other shoe I have had! These are certainly worth the investment.

This is a super pair of shoes. They have a great look and are very comfortable. These shoes are well-built. They are definitely worth the price. As a young executive appearance is important and these shoes give the desired handsome appearance one needs to be successful.

The finest pair of shoes I've ever owned. Versatile styling. I wear them with suits, dress slacks, and even jeans occasionally. Third paid of AE's. Had the last two resoled and are like new again.

Great shoes! This is my 2nd pair of Allen-Edmonds and despite the high price (and the tentativeness of ordering without trying them on first) they are worth every penny. I certainly appreciated the 1-day delivery by Zappos at no charge on my first order.

Over the past 22 years I've purchased 9 pair of Allen Edmonds shoes, two of which have been the Shelton model (chile/brown and black shark skin). As a person who averages 5-plus miles of walking per day, I'm pleased to report each pair has proved to be very comfortable, incredibly durable, and unsurpassed manufacturing quality. The first pair of AEs I bought, back in 1981, (a Leeds model in burgandy cordovan leather) still sees regular service while showing virtually no deterioration of the leather upper.
Congratulations Zappos on the new product line!

 |  | Unbelievable. I received shoes yesterday from an order I placed last week. I was bummed to find they were about a half size too small. So yesterday evening I placed a new order for the larger size but was bummed because I knew I'd have to wait a few days to receive them. I received an email from Zappos that my order had shipped last night. Nice touch but I figured no way that could happen, at the earliest it'll go out today. Then I checked the tracking number this morning and saw that my order went out from Kentucky last night, arrived in San Diego this morning (!) and was out for delivery!!! Wow. I'm impressed. Always have had a good experience with Zappos. When I expressed my frustration last night to my wife that the shoes didn't fit and I wish there was a better way to insure correct fit when you order online, she asked how I thought Zappos could make it more convenient. Electronic foot scanner was my only crazy idea but I'll take extremely quick upgraded shipping any day of the week. Nice job! |  | ~ Joel, September 16 2008
