Not bad -
Bought for Timbuk2 quality. Owned a small one once before remembered space, which is what I was looking for. LOVE all the pockets how ever still not enough room for me. Was looking for something with lots of pockets and room enough for lunch, a jacket and possibly a few groceries. Not enough room for any of that. Great for business or students with mostly laptops, notebook and a text book. Like others have mentioned, I too found it to be heavy and bulky, even when cycling. The strap is also uncomfortable when loaded. Other than that, its not bad.

Too bulky -
I bought this bag to carry my laptop and other useful things on either a bike or train commute.
The bag is great as far as storage space (with an excellent padded laptop compartment), but the design is rather bulky. When filled with all my goods (laptop & cords, a sketchbook, a novel, my wallet, cell phone, iPod, sun block, long-sleeve t-shirt, etc.), it overwhelmed my small 5'2'' frame. From the reviews, it seems like a few petite folks were able to make it work, but I just couldn't manage it. I'm also not sure whether this design would be the best choice for bike commutes... its very bottom heavy and hangs more than lays across the back. I think I'll be grabbing a smaller Timbuk2 messenger bag... the brand is great but this style just didn't fit my needs.

Fantastic bag, mediocre shoulder strap -
The bag is perfect; nice size, great layout, very comfortable. My only complaint is that the shoulder strap, while not uncomfortable, isn't quite perfect. I can't put my finger precisely on what is wrong, but it doesn't feel quite perfect. Minor complaint for an otherwise perfect bag, though.

Good, but could be better.
I bought this bag for my husband to carry his laptop in. It's nice, well made, and good and sturdy. But I HATE velcro and there were two huge strips of it under the inside flap and I removed them. He reports that the bag could be a bit deeper, front to back, and we switched out the shoulder strap with one with a cushion as the original wasn't comfortable.
So, all in all, for the price, a good bag - but it could be better.

Great bag from a great company (I mean Zappos)
This is a great bag for my Mac book. Its well built and has sufficient storage compartments for my power adapter, iPod & cables, a notebook, and some other misc small items.
Combine with the great service from Zappos and lightning fast delivery, I can't help but giggle.

Fabulous bag!
I was a bit scared to order a "messenger" type bag since I thought it would look too casual for work and client meetings, but I was thrilled when I opened the box. This is a very durable, functional, well thought out bag that somehow manages to look nice. I am a small 5'3" and my large and heavy computer (6+ lbs) fits perfectly. The bag feels comfortable on my shoulder. I don't really understand the strap complaints - mine came with a great wide strap that does the job.

Great bag for commuter -
Love this bag, especially the padded section built in for my laptop. Lots of pockets, key clip, and easy access side pouches. Sturdy bottom stands up to abuse. Best feature is the handle. I love how easy it is to go from the strap to the handle, making fast commuting easier.

Well-made, high-quality bag -
Though I don't have a laptop, I still love this bag. I can keep a book and a portable DVD player in the laptop compartment and still have room for some other stuff in the other area. I really like all the pockets and compartments. My previous Timbuk2 bag, a medium Messenger, was great but was (1) way too big and (2) very short on pockets/compartments. Looked more like a stuffed gym bag, really, whereas as this bag is more like a briefcase but without being stuffy and boring.
There is not a LOT of extra space, though, but in addition to the above I can fit 3-4 magazines, cellphone, Palm Pilot in the front + my lunch in the handy rear compartment. Superb overall.

Shoulder pad should be included, but you have to pay extra. Other than that, a great bag.

Great Bag -
This is a wonderful bag. It fits me perfectly for my commute on my motorcycle. My previous bag was much heavier and bulkier. The design is cool, well made, plenty of extra storage.

Awesome bag!
I just received the Timbuk2 Commute Medium in all black and love it! My goal was to find a bag that looks stylish and is not too big. I have a 14.1" notebook and didn't want to pack it in a big bag but take advantage of its compact size. I was afraid the Timbuk2 would be a bit too bulky for my taste, and I was positively surprised when it arrived. It is the perfect size, still a smaller bag, but it allows for a few extra things aside from the notebook. And it looks like it's built to last. It comes with a thinner strap to wrap around your waist, but it seems awkward to me and I don't think I will use it - otherwise the perfect bag!

Good overall, but a few drawbacks -
I have owned a black Commute for quite some time. My main complaints with Timbuk2 are the colors of some or most of the mens bags (why do only women's backpacks come in all black?), the pricing, and the fact that I feel the accessories (ie: shoulder strap, etc.) should come with the bag.
I love the rubberized bottom of this bag, the side pockets to hold my cell phone (what's with bag manufacturers and water bottle holders?), and the very nice laptop compartment. Files and pens can be stored in the back (padded on the outside) zippered compartment and the inside can hold gadgets like a cell phone and other things like cords, pens, keys, a bluetooth headset, and of course, your laptop. The inside is this funky rubber or whatever it is, which I feel should be lined with something rather than the raw material.
The yellow logo is ugly, but the 07 bag does have that light gray logo. Still annoying and one of the company's biggest complaints according to a magazine article I once read.
The handle is very padded and the bag also comes with a removable waist-strap, so you can run from the cops after robbing a bank to pay for this bag without the bag flapping around.
I'm not sure if I would buy this bag again, but then again I can't find anything on the market that really suits my needs.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Bags are frustrating and discontinued often. Keep searching.

Excellent for Rough Guys -
Even though I'm a petite female, I love this bag to store my many things. I don't own a laptop but the storage for it is good for my files! The bag looks and feels very sturdy so it's really perfect for those guys who throw their bags around. Like many other customers, I wished it would have come with a strap pad, which I had to order separately.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: A small classic Timbuk2 is also perfect!

Cute, but heavy -
I love the way this bag looks, and Timbuk2 is known for being good quality, but with a 15 inch Dell Latitude and a few other random things, this bag is way too heavy to tote around for more than a few steps. The shoulder strap isn't padded, so it digs into your shoulder. Granted, I'm a petite woman, so it might work better for those more buff than I am, but otherwise, it is pretty painful to carry around. I've found other lighter laptop bags with better padding, so I know that there are other ones out there. Too bad, because I like how this bag looks the best, and it has tons of cool pockets.

A good buy.
Nice looking and sturdy, the bag, which was delivered in Zappos' speedy fashion, is everything I was looking for. The velcro is a nice touch as it keeps the bag closed at all times. The only flaw would be that the bag is not light to begin with, and could be a bit heavy to tot around with a heavier laptop and books.

A nice Mac Book Pro carrying case -
Yes the 15.4inch Mac Book pro fits nicely and securely in this bag. Timbuk2 bags are generally of very high quality and this one is no exception. I like the rubberized inside surface of the flap. This helps to shed any raindrops that fall on the top of the bag. I wish it came with a shoulder pad... Otherwise highly recommended.

Good and bad -
This bag is a great size and is good looking, but the seams are shredding and the back is pilling. Still, I might buy it again because it fills my needs.

 | | I want to thank you for your compassion!!! I explained, I think to all the employees, my situation about having lupus, and a car accident with a broken back, but still needing shoes. They have been all heart! You have picked the best people to work for you. I do not know if you realize it but because I have trouble finding shoes I feel like I know everyone. They are the greatest employees and an asset to Zappos. They really do care! Most people today just want to place their 8 hours punch in and out, get home, and forget their job. I truly feel these people at Zappos are the very best that any company can have as employees. Trump, eat your heart out these people may not be rich, but where it counts, rich at heart. I truly respect them for them taking their time with me. Most of all, I pray you realize you have the crème of the crop working for you! Congratulations for such great people who do not just go to work for a check but because they care about the people they help. Like me!!! Who knows if I will ever walk again but, I can say they gave me the hope that I may and can walk if I try, especially with my new shoes. Thank you Zappos for the best service anyone can ask for!
