Great boots! I just received these boots, and I really like them. They smell a little like moth balls, so I'm hoping that will fade with time. These are great boots for a synthetic leather, and I was excited about the 18" calf circumference. I have needed the wide calf width even as a teenager, when I was skinny! These are a little snug, as my calves measure 18" exactly. But I can get them zipped, and I'm hoping they stretch a little with time. I'm 5'6", and they sit right below my knee. A little sagging at the ankle, but not too bad. The heel is a great height, very comfortable for walking, but high enough to be a little sexy! Overall, I'm pleased, and I look forward to wearing them through the holidays with all my cute dresses!

I have to retract my earlier review on Nov 22. I love this boot, but found one thing to be very disappointing, this is not "leather". The first description was misleading, it stated the boots were genuine leather. That statement is what made me purchase the boots, because I had been looking for leather extra wide calf boots. I was so excited when I placed the order and couldn't wait for my boots to arrive. When they did arrive they smelled funny and were dull in color. After getting online, looking at the boots again and reading the prior reviews over, one review stuck out to me. Someone said the boots wasn't leather despite the details. This prompted me to look at my boots again, and just like it was stated I realized the review was correct, they were not leather. I was disappointed! Long story short, I'm returning the boots before I ever wore them. I think the price is way too much to pay for a non leather boot. I would be willing to keep them for about a third the price, but not for this price. Much too high. I still love Zappos and their service and will always continue to be a faithful customer. But if you are looking for a leather boot, this one is not what you want to buy at this price.

My boots came the other day and I love them! I have been looking for a long leather boot to fit a big fat calves (18 inches to be exact). The boots fit like a glove. I am was very impressed. The customer service at Zappos has sold me over. If you have big calves and boots are hard to find for you, this is the boot to have. The leather is so soft (like lambskin). I love them. You will not be disappointed with this boot. I give it 5 stars for looks and comfort. Thanks Zappos! Please continue to offer extra wide calf boots in your inventory.

I love this boot! The wider calf is the perfect size, there is even enough room to tuck in jeans. The heel height is perfect for dressing up, but not too high to be comfortable to walk in. The zipper in the back instead of the side was a surprise, but I love it because it doesn\'t spoil the line of the boot.

For VERY wide calves. I couldn't wait for these boots to arrive. However, the wide calf is truly WIDE. I have 15" calves, and these boots looked ridiculous. There's no stretch to them, so they just looked like big fireman boots up top. Alas. Also, I was thrown by the "synthetic leather upper" and was expecting leather. They are indeed synthetic/man-made.

Finally, a basic black boot without any fussy details and a truly wide calf! I have very oddly shaped legs. My feet and ankles are very narrow, while my calves are 18 inches at the widest point. Unfortunately, because of this these boots tend to bunch a little at the ankle, but not too badly. These are surprisingly comfy for a pointy toed boot, and the heels are at a sensible height for walking. I like having the zipper on the back instead of the side, and it goes almost all the way down the heel making the boots easy to get on and zip up. One thing that is confusing is the web description of this product, which says genuine leather, but the inside of the boot says all man-made materials. In any case, these boots look well made and do not have any odd chemical smells that man-made boots usually have. For the price, these are well worth it!

Another great deal from Zappos. If you have a wide calf or wide foot or both, this is the boot for you. This is my first RSVP brand boot and the quality seems okay, so time will tell, especially since I foresee wearing these a lot! The look is awesome, love the sexy back zipper, and the heel is not too high for my taste (see specs, they are totally accurate; the WW really is WW). I have an approximately 17.5 inch calf (big, I know) and these boots zipped right up, no prob. The extra width is appreciated, too. I may have to get the brown ones, too. And of course, I had them two days after ordering because Zappos rocks.

As long as you’re out there in cyber space I will never buy a pair of shoes or a purse or anything I can buy from your store elsewhere!
