Shoe Size: Felt a half size smaller than marked
I also got the taupe color and really was impressed with the look of the boots. I'm 6 foot and the shaft height was great, but they were way too wide around the calves to work. Really gorgeous if your calves are a bit wider.

I bought this in the stone color because I thought it had a unique look to it. I took a gamble on the shaft circumference, but it was way too big for me. The 8.5 fit true to size and I really liked the foot shaped and color of the boot. The leather was thin, but I thought it was fine enough. I really liked the look. However, not only was the shaft too large, it was stretched out at the top. (I don't know if I happen to get a pair someone had tried before or what.) This is a tall boot and on me (5'5") the boot was gaping just below the knee where my leg curves in. It really looked silly. This might work for someone much taller if it hit them lower on their calf.

 |  | You need a portal just for testimonials! I am an enthusiastic fan of Zappos! I live overseas but I have a home in USA. I shop the latest styles and fashions on Zappos.com in Denmark, ship them to my USA address and pay with my Danish bank card...no hassle. Your “competition” will not allow me to do that and they place the burden of identity verification on me. When I try to place an order from Denmark to ship to my house in USA they cancel my order. When I call in to determine why they do not use a more sophisticated method of credit card verification like “Verify by Visa” they tell me they cannot reinstate the order. I spend about 3K per month in shoes alone and I am more than happy buying them all from Zappos now. I shop Zappos exclusively now for the great customer service, ease of use, selection and confidence in knowing that the purchases I make will be honored in a way that provides service to the customer. I started with buying shoes, I am now looking at all the other wonderful things Zappos offers as a result of the service and value provided through this company!
