Nice smart boots. I ordered 8.5 WW to fit a 17" calf. It fit well, but it had really large ugly cankles. I only have a wide calf, not wide cankles, so I am sending this back. I ordered 3 Fitzwell shoes, and all three of them had this problem.

I have searched high and low for boots that fit and this pair proves a good fit. This is the first time I ordered from zappos.com. I really appreciate the no s/h with purchase or return! You can't go wrong there. So I ordered two boots, one fit the other didn't and I returned it with no hassles at all.

I liked the real level, the heel was great, the fit was good, the insole was very comfortable, but I could not get over the big elastic bands on the back of the boot. They just felt odd and they didn't look good. Otherwise, it was a great boot, just get rid of the elastic bands!

I got the boots a few weeks ago. They are not bad considering it took me a while to find a boot that fits my calf. But I figured out my problem finally. I am petite, only 5'1", and noticed that my calf portion hits the boot lower, and the wider part of the boot is high, so I have some problems zipping up. Mind you I could use to lose a few pounds, but not obese in any way. So now I understand why I can't fit in regular leather boots. They make the wider part of boots high, for women over 5'5". But once zipped up it's fine. The leather isn't plush and luxurious, but it's what I paid for considering the price. For some reason the rubber heel falls off, so I brought it to the shoe cobbler and for $10 they replaced it with a more permanent and better sole. Some other posts commented on the inside sole, that you feel the shoe. I think it is the Fitzwell gel pads. I got used to it, so it doesn't bother me anymore. Overall, if you cant find boots to fit your calves, get these. They are not bad. I wish I could fit my calves in some beautiful Italian leather boots. Sigh.

Love these boots. I had a terrible time finding good-looking boots that would fit my calves, but these did. I would say that the size seems to run just a little big.

I am normally an 8W, and this shoe was at least a half size too big. The calf was also bigger than I had expected. I felt like a clown when I put them on. I would get a 7.5, but I would also need a smaller calf size. The leather quality is nice, though.

These were one of 4 pairs of boots ordered during my "I need boots 'now' week." These were the ones I chose. Perfectly sturdy heel, feminine but not pointy toe, and the quality of the elastic/leather seam on the calf were the sales points. These happened to be the 2nd cheapest boots in the order, and I've never spent this much for footwear before. Kudos to Zappos for giving me 10 wide true to size, perfectly gauged shoes to choose from!

This is a wonderful boot. I have had many compliments on them already. The fit is very good and it absolutely fits a wide calf. If it fits my calf it will fit everyone's calf. Also they are very comfortable and the quality is excellent.

I tried this boot and while the width on the foot was very comfortable, I was disappointed that you could feel the heel of through the sole of the boot. (Another reviewer mentioned this as well.) I ended up going with the Bandolino Castalina instead. Loved the Zappos shopping experience. Outstanding customer service!

Love these boots! I was mainly looking for a tall boot that would fit my very large calves. It takes me a few minutes to squeeze my calves in and pull up the zipper, but I'm hoping that after time the leather will stretch a little and get easier. I am 5'2" and my calves are a little over 16 inches. Because my legs are short, the 15 inch high shaft comes all the way up to my knee! I'm sure these boots were made for longer legs so that's probably why I have a hard time fitting my calves inside. But I do like that the opening at the top is wide so it makes my legs look slimmer. There isn't much cushion inside for your feet, but it's not too uncomfortable. I ordered a size 8 and it seems like there would be enough room to put an insert inside. The fit around my calves is too tight for jeans, but hopefully I will eventually be able to wear hose when it gets colder outside. Other than that, I love the way it looks and have already gotten compliments, my first time wearing them. Plus, I love that Zappos sped up my shipping at no extra charge! Thanks Zappos!

Well, Zappos worked diligently to help me find just the right boot for my bunioned foot and my ample calves, and this is it! What a lovely boot, classic look and immediately comfortable. Perfect for me. I'm a true 7.5 and this was perfect. I also tend to have slightly wider feet, but not enough to order a W. The leather is well constructed and a true brown. I can even wear jeans with it. Oh, my poor thick calves! The only thing I wish this shoe did have was better cushioning as I can feel the heel as I walk around, but I'll just be adding insoles. Oh, and thank you for the super fast shipping, Zappos! Great CSR!

Great boot! The calf was snug, I don't know if I could wear it over jeans, but this is the first time I've managed to get a boot zipped up over my soccer player calves in my whole life. They look fantastic on, and the quality is very good; very sturdy looking, and comfortable on. I have weird-shaped feet, narrow heel pocket with wide toe-box and bunion. I normally wear an 8.5 or a 9 to accommodate for that, but an 8.5W was actually a little big on me (extra room in the toe). I ordered an 8 and will see if that fits a little better. That's my own fault though; I don't normally find the shoes I like in wide, so wasn't really sure what the sizing would be. It makes sense that I'd be an 8W, not an 8.5W. This was my first purchase of wide-shaft boots from Zappos, and I'm just thrilled with these boots. I can't wait until the 8 comes in. Now that I've found the wide-shaft section, I think I need to ask them to put a limit on what I can spend here; I'm in love! This is a very sexy boot, top-notch quality, I highly recommend it.

I just received these boots two days ago, and they are exactly what I wanted. Plus, they fit good and are well-constructed. I wear a size 9 with a 16 inch calf and they fit true to size. If my calf was a half inch larger, they would probably be too tight. I bought them to wear to work (I am a teacher), and although I haven\'t had the chance to do that yet, I expect them to be comfortable after trying them at home. The color is a dark brown, which is what I was hoping for. The only down-side of this boot is that some may find the stretchy inserts on the back less than attractive. For my purposes, it is just fine.
