This shoe has, literally saved my life...or at least limbs! I work a crazy job; walking the canyons at night as a wildlife biologist. And I definitely believe, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the above claim. Over the years, I've tried many shoes in the field, but for overall comfort, durability and life-saving sticky rubber soles, none compare! And they are light so half way through the night I do not feel oppressed by concrete weights on my my feet. I do find them a tad wide for my narrow high arched feet, but this was easily rectified with an additional, over the counter, inner-sole. Love these shoes and love the red color.

Makes your feet look wide!
These shoes have a nice, aggressive tread, and roomy toe box, but that's about all they have going for them. They dig into the back of my heels and they made my feet look like duck feet, not flattering at all! Besides that, I wonder at how they'd transition to bouldering/climbing because they are so beefy and clunky on one's feet. Try the 5.10 Guide Tennies instead.

I love my Five Tens!
I purchased the Insight for hiking and they are doing great! I've summited 22 times since I bought them and they are still going strong! They don't control my overpronation at all, but the insoles are removable so I just replaced them with a motion control insole and they're doing great. They're not waterproof, but seem to be somewhat water resistant. They do get pretty dirty for some reason, but I don't mind. They still look awesome.

Best Wall Climbing Shoe -
My first pair lasted me something like 125 aid climbing pitches. Unheard of. A great shoe, I chose a size 7, even though both the 7 and 7.5 seemed to fit. I normally wear a 7.5 in this type of shoe, so I would say that they run "normal" but in this type of shoe, a tiny bit tight is a good thing.

Great shoe!
I must have tried over half a dozen other brands, but when these went on my feet, I knew they were the ones. Solid-feeling sole with comfortable insole, great for all types of hiking--and they look nice! Grips my heel comfortably, with plenty of toe-room. I can scramble up a rock or brace myself down a dirt path in the local nature preserve with equal ease, no shifting of my foot as I move, which seems to be an issue for me with other shoes. Haven't noticed marking soles yet, but I don't have white floors. I fully expect to have these for years to come.

Nimble-feeling trail shoe -
I bought these for short hikes/scrambles to rock climbs, for in-camp shoes after taking off my hiking boots & for just around town. I was pleased that they're not too heavy, the treads aren't too huge, and the low cut gives you lots of room to move (though I guess you could twist an ankle). Also the heel is narrow enough that my heels don't slip when I walk, a common problem for me. I only wish it came in half sizes. I normally wear a women's 8 & I seem to be between a 7 & 8 on these. Maybe worth noting that these are marking soles.

Bunion-friendly approach shoes -
I just picked these up after trying on every approach/light hiker on the market... I have painful bunions and neuroma, and these were the best fit in the toe box and have a true rocker bottom (if you're a Dansko wearer, you'll love these). I wish they had one more eye for lacing the ankle closed a wee bit tighter, but I think they're going to do great. I'm a 5.10 fan generally but this is the first pair of their approach shoes that have fit me, so if you've counted them out in the past give these a try.

Keep me on the rock!
Instant comfort right out of the box. Sized the same as Asics running tennies: a full size larger than my street shoe size. Nice roomy toe box. Im wide up front and have a hard time finding shoes with enough volume in the toe area. Felt secure scrambling huge rocks~ exactly what I was looking for. I like them so much I turned right around and bought a pair for a friend.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: asics nimbus for running ~ fit the same.

 | | Team Zappos, I ordered my shoes yesterday and was delighted to see that the shipping was upgraded free of charge. A very nice touch. However, I was astounded when I found the shoes at my front door this afternoon. How did you pull that off? No one is this fast
no one. Is there a flying caped Zappos team member drinking espresso shots all night moving shoes about the country?! WOW WOW WOW!!! TEAM ZAPPOS YOUVE JUST EARNED A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. The only name in my book and blasted all over my face book and twitter is ZAPPOS because I ordered my shoes and ZAP, they were at my door. ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING OVER THE TOP, IM DANCING AROUND IN MY NEW SHOES! Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing what you do. Bernie Zappos for life."
