Very comfortable shoes. I have been wearing these shoes to work at a restaurant and they have been doing me right so far! I think they run a little bit big. I usually wear an 8 or 8.5 and the 7.5 fit me well. I also have narrow feet. They look cute with black socks.

My second pair of "Carmels". I bought them last year in brown and love them. I was looking for a pair of black shoes for a trip to Argentina and after several tries to find a pair of comfortable walking shoes for my problem feet (bunions and morton's neuroma), thank you Zappos for your great return policies, I decided to go with what I knew would fit. I have several pairs of Keen shoes, the wider ones work best and Carmel is on the wide side. Very comfortable for being on my feet all day and cute enough to wear with jeans, capris and casual skirts. They are a great alternative to sandals if you don't want to show the toe cleavage.

I love these shoes! I had to buy 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear. The leather is very soft and stretches a little. I love the wide toe box. I did not need to break them in at all. My only concern was with the insoles which have grooves in them. I was afraid that the grooves would irritate my foot. After wearing the shoes for a few minutes, however, I forget about them. I can wear these shoes all day without any problems. That\'s amazing because I am on my feet all day and I have had two foot surgeries recently.

These are the most comfortable shoes ever! I am due to have a baby any day now, and these have been life savers! So comfy and yet, so cute. They are not heavy so I am not tripping over everything and they don't make my feet too hot either. I would definitely recommend these shoes, pregnant or not!

This shoe (I have purchased it in black and in red) is the perfect shoe for a woman like me who likes feminine shoes and comfort combined. I will wear it with socks and pants into winter; also looks good with stockings and a skirt. What I like even more than the shoe is Zappos. What I especially like is the footbed of the shoe with its arch design. I can wear it all day and my feet don't get tired. The computer interface is smooth and flawless and the delivery always arrives on time, or sooner. I go to a store to try shoes on and then, go to Zappos to buy them in my size and color. Zappos graphics are great too; I can see all the details, get all the info I need to make a smart purchase. Thanks to Keen and Zappos for helping me walk in style and comfort.

Finally, a sandal type shoe that I am able to wear all day without pain. Over the past few years I have had several major foot issues, making it just about impossible to be comfortable in any shoe. Keen's Carmel has solved my problem. I am on my feet 8 to 10 hours a day 6 days a week, and my Keens are comfortable the entire time. They run a little large, so I bought a half size smaller, and they are a little wider than normal, which is great for anyone with upper foot and toe issues. I'm so glad I tried them. Thank you Keens and Zappos for getting them to me so quickly. Wish I had ordered these at the beginning of summer.

I love my Keen Carmel. I bought a size 11 at a store in town and they flip-flopped so when I found 10 1/2 on Zappos, I bought two pair, one in black and one in brown. They fit perfectly and are my "go to" summer shoes. Capris, dresses, shorts; I wear them with just about everything. Super comfortable and always complimented by people whose shoes I like!

These shoes are exactly what I was looking for, in a late summer/fall kind of shoe with a closed toe. I teach Kindergarten, so I need super comfy shoes that help me to get through the day! Zappos had my size and color, when several other stores were making it too complicated to get them.

Bought the shoes for the all-in-one shoe to travel to Costa Rica. Comfortable, no blisters, very cute, but not so great in the water and horrible for hiking and a nightmare in the mud. Totally overestimated what a Keen can handle. Great shoes if you are just wanting style and cuteness in comfort.

Love these shoes. Have gotten nothing but compliments on them! The red tea color is beautiful and goes with everything. I was surprised at how comfortable they were right from the start. I thought the fit was right on and they have a nice contoured foot bed. They were expensive, but worth it. I know I will have these shoes for a long time.

I saw a woman wearing these shoes in a parking lot and asked her about them. She told me the brand and that she bought them on Zappos. I went online and bought them as soon as I got home. The shoes were exactly what I had been looking for and I was hoping that the fit would live up to my expectations...\r\n\r\nThese shoes are fantastic. I\'m a teacher, so I\'m on my feet all day and I need a shoe that is both comfortable and attractive - these are exactly such a shoe. They performed right out of the box, the sole is supportive and weather resistant, and the uppers are pretty and feminine. \r\n\r\nI\'ve been wearing these all summer at work, and I\'m just about to buy a second pair in a different color so that I can wear them with my more traditionally colored "school year" clothes.

I have 2 pair of Keen shoes, which I love. Decided to get these more for warmer weather outings. Not disappointed; as comfortable as the flat shoes. Can wear these all day and have no foot aches and pain at all. Sturdy with a wide toe box and can wear without socks, too. With all my Keens I go half size down from normal. My only wish is that they did not have to be buckled; velcro would be nice! These are cute with capris - jeans and skirts too.

\r\nThese shoes are the most comfortable shoes I\'ve ever had.\r\nI bought my first pair to walk around Europe. Rome has a lot of cobbled/stone streets and these were perfect.\r\nI also work in a dental office and having worn out the first pair after a couple of years I was happy to find them still available.\r\nThis is my 2nd pair and I wear them to work every day.

I love this shoe. I ordered a half-size smaller than usual based on several of the earlier reviews and they fit me perfectly. I love the look (I bought the black) and am looking forward to wearing these to walk all over Spain in. I may order a second pair in another color, too. Very pleased with this purchase.

I needed a pair of comfortable shoes to wear to work and these are great! Look good and very, very, comfortable. I have a lot of foot problems and am on my feet a lot. No breaking in just comfortable from the start. I have started wearing Keens because they are so comfortable. Also have the Keen Laguna for weekends, wonderful shoe!

Great closed toe dressy shoe! Surgery made closed toe shoe a must. Zappos sales people recommended brands that were new to me. I bought Keen's closed toe sandals and now Keen's Carmel (carob-neat brown). This shoe can be worn anywhere and with any outfit. I ordered a 6 1/2 and it was too large. Not-to-worry; I had the replacement shoes (6) the next afternoon. The brown color goes with many of my outfits - from crops to skirts, this is a great shoe. The little etching of the flowers is repeated right below the buckle, really cute. Because I teach high school, I am on my feet all day. Keen gives me comfort at a very reasonable price. I am a proud Zappos VIP customer.

I was looking for a shoe/sandal combo. This was perfect! I read other reviews as I always do and this was true to form! This shoe is soo comfortable yet supportive. I just love the way it looks and feels. Definitely take the advice of all the prior reviews about getting a size smaller. I ordered a 5.5 and had to exchange it for a size 5! Definitely larger than you would want. Also, got a lot of compliments on it. If you want a combo shoe/sandal this is the one for you. I like the covered toe part sometimes but still the openness of a sandal. Go for it! The color is a really nice deep red without being orangey at all.

I knit hand-dyed socks and am always on the lookout for a shoe which shows off my handwork. Someone wrote about this Mary Jane style Keen shoe and mentioned how comfortable it was. Because hand knit socks wear longer without a full heel, the strap across the back looked right for me, and Zappos free shipping made it easy to try it on. Recently, I've started wearing orthotics, and while they don’t fit into this shoe, the shoe itself is extremely comfortable with lots of support. So, it works all the way around for me. Thanks to Zappos for the quick delivery and also for upgrading the delivery service. Shoe lovers just have to have their shoes fast. Free delivery is one of the reasons I come back to Zappos again and again.

Great shoes. Super comfy. Equally cute with pants or skirts. A great footbed that pretty much guarantees to keep your feet from getting stinky. No break in required and I have wide feet. Plan on wearing them to Europe this summer.

I love these shoes! A woman was walking by me one day, and I commented how cute her shoes were. She told me they were from Keen (a brand new to me) so I looked online and found them. They are great for work as I'm on my feet most of the day. I have the red ones and love them!

This is the second pair of this style that I have purchased from Zappos. I like the roomy toe box, the softness of the leather that did not require a "break-in" time, and the support of the large strap around the ankle. The shoe style offers the feel of an airy sandal balanced with the stability and protection of a closed shoe. The concern for the long run comes about because of the malleability of the leather. The strap and the fitting holes stretch out in time. The shoe is great for hour-long walks on an even terrain but is not for hiking or extensive walking.

After several trials and errors--I settled on the Keen Carmel and was not disappointed. I was going to Chicago and knew I would do a lot of walking so I wanted a shoe that was not only comfortable, but easy on the eye. Keen wearers know they are unique--we are stylish, but practical people who want comfort at a good price. I wear a 9 medium in most shoes, but have learned that a Keen 9.5 medium works best on me. The Carmel is a nice looking shoe that works well with and without socks.
