I was looking for a comfortable, robust pair of outdoor shoes. I could not have been more happy with my choice. These shoes are light, well refined and very comfortable on any terrain. Good value for the money!

I've never paid much attention to shoes. I can tell you a few things about these, but not by way of comparison. I've worn these nearly daily for roughly 18 months. I'm on my feet five days a week at work. They are just now wearing down to the point that I need a new pair. Most of the wear is in the typical places for me at the heel and ball of the foot, nothing unusual. They seem like they have held up well for the amount of use I've gotten. The only negative is that the upper rivets on my lace holes have repeatedly torn up shoelaces. The stock laces only lasted a few months each. I finally found some round hiking-boot laces at REI that held up six months or more. Overall, this was just a minor inconvenience. This is my second pair of Keens and I'll soon be looking for my third.

Bought these for my husband and he loves them. Very stylish and very comfortable. He wears a 9.5 or 10, bought these in 10 and they fit perfectly.

I bought these shoes after reading the review and wore them directly out of the box to a trip in Canada. They were extremely comfortable and they worked well with my orthotics.

Broke down and purchased my Austins in anticipation of a trip to the Emerald Isle next month. Found myself up in the DC area for a couple of weeks first and wore my Austins exclusively, except for the time on the treadmill at the Hotel! Absolutely love 'em! Great fit right out of the box and made the trekking around the Mall and museums a breeze. I'm now looking with even more excitement about my trip to the old sod, walking about should be fun. Highly recommend these and sorry I waited so long to treat my feet.

These shoes are great! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for something stylish with comfort in mind. One issue/negative is that I bought the slate gray based on the picture on zappos.com. When I received the shoes the upper portion of the shoe that appears to be "slate gray" in the picture, seems more like a sage green to me. I've asked my wife and she agrees that they are green. Otherwise, I love these shoes.

This the most comfortable pair of leather lace up shoes I\'ve ever worn. Wore them all the day the first day I got them and my feet never became tired. There was no break in period! Great right out of the box. You can\'t go wrong with these.

I bought these for my husband as a happy medium between sneakers and dress shoes. He reports they are comfy from the start and in fact he went on a long walk the 1st day and said there was no breaking-in period. Another great pair of Keens!

This is a great shoe. I've had them for about a month and they feel great. Feels and looks like a well-made shoe. Rugged and stylish; I wear 'em with jeans or khakis. One wish: that Keen offered them in a 3/4 top for more of a hiker/boot feel.

This is the second pair of Keen Austins I have purchased and they are my favorite shoes. Very comfortable and eye catching. In fact I spotted these shoes on a man in a rest stop while I was travelling and that is how I got hooked on them. I am ordering some for my son for Christmas. Zappos is a wonderful shoe source.

I picked these up from Zappos to replace my old work shoes. I had a pair of Keen sandals and decided to try a pair of their shoes. Thanks to Zappos amazing service I had them the next day! The shoes are fantastic. They are so comfortable and I wear them all the time in place of sneakers. Keen makes a great product.

I got these for my husband who prefers either hiking sandals in the summer, or hiking boots in the fall/winter. We're going on a trip to Europe and I wanted him to have something in between hiking boots and tennis shoes. These are perfect! He loves them. They were, as everyone said, comfortable straight out of the box. He's worn them exclusively ever since they arrived, except for last night when he went on a trek through deep snow. I love them because they are stylish yet comfortable enough that they've instantly become his go-to shoes.

Very comfortable out of the box. They really do fit and feel like a shoe version of my Keen sandals (which are a summer staple). The style is a bit less conservative than my other shoes, so are not great for a business casual office. Great weekend/knock-around shoes. I can easily imagine how these would be a great travel shoe (as other reviewers have commented).

My husband needed some comfortable shoes for a planned trip to Europe. This was his first pair of Keens and he was buying them on my recommendation. He is very happy with them. We did a lot of walking and they were very comfortable for all moderate terrain, and very good on the cobblestone streets of Europe. He normally wears a size 12 and did not have to up a size. As always, Zappos had the shoes on our front porch the next day. And for shoes like Keens that aren't necessarily mainstream, Zappos is a great way to shop because of the good selection of styles and colors and the almost instantaneous delivery.

These shoes are great! I decided to purchase these a few days before a trip to Scotland. I took them out of the box, and they fit perfectly. No need to order up or down, just order your shoe size. They provided wonderful support for the entire 14 days I wore them, 14 straight days of only these shoes. I never once felt uncomfortable; no "breaking in" period, just a great fit from the start to the end. Worth the price for sure!

I purchased these for my husband who suffers with peripheral neuropathy. He has to be very careful with his choice of shoes so there is no chance of sores to his feet. Because he has stability issues also, I thought Keens would be a perfect solution. I have a pair of the same shoes and have had no more foot problems when wearing them, especially no pronation. This shoe has been a perfect match for my husband, addressing most all of his foot issues and allowing him to once again be able to walk without falls, sores, or pain! Anyone suffering from diabetes, pronation, weak ankles, etc. should consider this shoe as a fashionable alternative to other designs. Orthopedic inserts are no problem due to the roomy shoe, especially the toe box.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: We don't believe there is a better brand for the foot issues we have.

I bought these because I was taking a two-week vacation to Australia and didn\'t have any walking-around-all-day shoes. I ordered them four days before I left, and I was a little concerned because I wasn\'t really going to have time to try them out or break them in before I left. Not normally a smart thing to have done, but I needn\'t have worried in this case. These shoes fit great, right out of the box, and feet never felt tired wearing them. I did, in fact, wear them for two weeks straight while I was on vacation (they were the only shoes I brought with me), and both they and I held up well.\r\n\r\nI like the styling on these, and they have become my go-to casual shoes. They do have the typical Keen styling with the relatively wide toes, but I think it works for these.

Yay! I love Keen Austins. This is my third pair, and I doubt I'll ever buy anything else as long as these are still in production. The Austin, like all Keens, have a very nice wide toe for people with wide feet, like myself. These shoes are the most comfortable, accommodating shoes I've ever put on. I just love them more than I can describe. Keen's are durable, American made, and roomy. Worth every penny!

These shoes are awesome! I got these the day before I went on a camping trip in South Dakota. I wore them to hike in Badlands National Park and at Devil's Tower. They fit perfectly from the moment I put them on. I had no chafing on my heels the way I do with most shoes. There is plenty of room for my toes (which is great because I have some toe issues). These shoes were simply the best fitting, most comfortable pair of shoes that I've ever bought!

I really enjoy these shoes. They have a distinct look that goes well with jeans or other casual clothing. \r\n\r\nThey are also very comfortable. They provide good structural support, specially for the sole of the foot, without feeling rigid. They are pretty light in weight and can be worn all day long. They are true to size so there is no need to order higher or lower size. They accommodate feet that are slightly wider than normal well. Overall a very nice pair of shoes.

The main reason I selected the KEEN Austin shoe was due to the favorable reviews. I think one should order a half size larger for a better fit. I enjoy wearing the shoe, although it is far from being non slip as is advertised. I don't dare wear them on rainy days. I would buy this Austin shoe again only if the shoe was non slip.

This is really the Swiss army knife of shoes. It is rugged, good-looking, subtle, comfortable and very well priced. I wore a pair for two years although I'd really recommend not doing that. I definitely recommend pulling out the Keen insole and replacing it with something more comfortable. With that, you should be able to walk to the moon. I've found with these Keen Austins that I need only pack my running shoes as these serve as a general-purpose shoe and also a business-friendly shoe (definitely wouldn't wear them to anything terribly formal, of course, but meetings and such, sure).Finally, the newer model feels a bit improved as the shoelaces are more durable (some sort of nylon webbing instead of big cotton braiding) and the sole seems different.Simply a great shoe.

Zappos is awesome! I ordered these shoes a while ago and the day I ordered them I got an email stating that they bumped my shipping up at no charge. The next day I was in these, talk about service! The shoe itself is freaking amazing. My friend turned me on to Keens. So i picked up a pair of the Newports at a local retail store (they were on sale) and, man, never in my life have I had a shoe that was like walking on a marshmallow while at the same time being extremely durable and supportive. My only real beef with them is that the shoe laces aren't that long, but it's not really a problem. I'm just used to "gym shoes" that have longer than normal laces.
