I love these shoes! I used to wear red Converse all the time in college a few years back and these are a step up in style and comfort plus the "X" design on the sole and the heel is a cool touch. I was also glad to see that a portion of the proceeds went to charity. Thanks Zappos for the great selection of shoes!

Probably my 20th pair of Jack Purcell Converse so I think I can speak to just about every style. Was very happy to see a red pair and was even happier about the cause it represents. So this was a no brainer, even though they were more than standard JP's. However, the quality is not the same. One way you can tell is the laces. It's a very cheap nylon. The boot is not the best quality as well. Very thin canvas that tends to lose its shape when tightened. Compare this to another brand and you can tell the difference. It's still a great shoe and I am very happy with my purchase. Just be aware not all JP's are the same.

These sneakers are very cool. They came with two sets of laces, white and red. After some experimentation, I found I like wearing them with the red laces best. I like that they are African canvas, and that some of the proceeds of the sale goes to fight AIDS and malaria, under the (product) red program. I am a woman who normally wears a size 9. As far as the fit on the Jack Purcell Converse: the men's 7 is the right length, but width is a little snug. The men's 7.5 is the right width, but a little long. I have several other pairs, some in 7 and some in 7.5. I wear thinner socks with the 7s, and it's all good.
