I strongly recommend these New Balance runners; I am so happy with the New Balance WR1123s. I have plantar fasciitis, wear orthotics, walk/run about 50 minutes every day, and these shoes make that possible. Great support, wide enough toe box, so comfy. I love New Balance, and Zappos service is awesome! I shop nowhere else for shoes. The mall? I don't think so!

I\'m on my 4th pair! I walk 3 miles daily and the walking shoes I was using gave me calluses. The shoe store recommended these and I\'m very thankful. They can take the pounding.

Love these shoes. I have short wide feet and these 4eee are great! I have tried many others that say they are 4eee, but end up being too tight. Especially since I use these to go walking at least 3 miles/day. I've tried going to the local NB store, where they'll charge more than Zappos and then tell me I'll have to wait because they need to order it and then I'll have to return to the store to pick it up. Can't beat Zappos; quick delivery and, if need be, return!

Not a replacement for 1122; this is a whole different shoe. I was a faithful wearer of the 1122. Was very disappointed to hear they were discontinued. Got these as they were the replacement. Expected all the good qualities plus maybe something in addition. What a disappointment. 1st, not as deep, therefore, doesn't have the overall support for the entire foot-top to sole. 2nd, the heel material is way too soft to be supportive. It is so soft that it bends forward when putting the shoes on, and the sides aren't as high so less support for those of us with weaker ankles that have been severely sprained in the past. The overall quality of the leather seems less durable resulting in less support of the foot on the whole. The 1122 lasted forever. I get these only because the 1122 is no longer available. I wonder if NB isn't making the 1122 model anymore because they certainly outlasted the 1123. I miss the higher platform on the heel of the 1122. The higher platform was much better for cushioning and support of the ankle and heel when I spend 8 hours a day on concrete. I wish I would have discovered that 1122 was being discontinued earlier so I could have bought several extra pairs. I now save my last good pair of 1122s for indoors wear only when I know I will have a long day on my feet.

Very attractive athletic shoe, I read somewhere that these were made for people with: Ball-of-Foot Pain Calluses Flat Feet Heel Pain & Heel Spurs Pronation Supination Swollen Feet and Legs. I can say they feel good upon 1st trying on; however, I need more time to say for sure that they will help me. My feet are in desperate condition and it will take weight loss to help me in my quest for pain relief of my feet and a back injury that causes me daily chronic pain.

Be careful! I bought this shoe after falling and having injuries of a calcaneus fracture and torn ligaments to my left foot. I at first purchased the Brooks Adrenaline shoe and even though I loved that shoe and the fit, my foot was swollen so much even 3 months after the injury that the Brooks, size 5EE, was too tight on my foot, so I purchased this shoe size 5 2E. The width was amazing, very roomy in the toe box which is what I needed, but the width in the heel and arch area of the foot was a bit roomier than I needed. But still the shoe seemed to be great for the width I needed, even though the shoe was not as cushiony and comfortable as the Brooks brand. Within days I was having tremendous knee pain which became greater and greater as the weeks went on. I even tried to add supports in the shoe to get more cushion, but after 3+ weeks of nearly intolerable pain in the knee it occurred to me that the pain had begun when I started wearing this shoe, so Friday (yesterday), I went back to the Brooks shoe and by the middle of the day the knee pain had subsided slightly. This morning I woke and put on the Brooks shoe and have been walking pain free for the first time in months! I am absolutely amazed at the immediate relief with the Brooks shoe. So be careful about this shoe. Even though it costs way more than the Brooks shoe, the shoe is structured in a way that must put pressure on the knees. Don't know if this would be a problem if one has no injuries, but for me it will go into the closet and never be worn again!

Excellent shoe. This is my 2nd pair. Shoe has the roomy toe box I need and the width is generous. S-L2 Last with wider forefoot, deep toe box, higher instep & narrow heel is perfect for my foot. Great control for pronation & suppination. Good cushioning. Color is nice, too.

I have tried hundreds of various brands of athletic shoes. I\'ve even tried NB before & I was not impressed, UNTIL I purchased these. I love them! I\'m overweight & have many foot problems including 2 surgeries. These are very comfortable & I don\'t dread putting them on like previous pairs of shoes I\'ve owned. Give these a try around the house. With Zappos fine guarantee, you can\'t go wrong. They are happy if you are happy.\r\nPS Kudos to Zappos, they look like a fine company to work for!

I love these shoes they've been comfortable from day one. I've been told you should never have to break shoes in, if you do they aren't the shoe's you want to keep. The size is hard to find 6.5 4E (WWWW) With a real high arch. I love them if they ever make this shoe with other color choices I will purchase again.

This shoe replaced the 1122 New Balance. Sad to say, the depth of the shoe is less and therefore I am unable to wear my orthotics. But for the 'normal' wearer, this will not be a problem. And my shoe repair person is stretching the shoes as we speak! So I hope to remedy the problem and once again have a dependable, comfortable, wearable sport shoe!

I love these shoes and have been buying them for years in a 9W. They are true to size and since I started wearing this shoe I do not roll out onto my ankles even when stepping into broken up sections of the sidewalk while walking dogs or playing volleyball on an uneven grass surface.

I had previously owned 2 pairs of New Balance 1022\'s and when my second pair had worn out, I was very disappointed that they were now out of production. However, I ordered the new version, the 1023\'s and I am very pleased with the fit and comfort. The only caveats - they run about 1/2 size bigger than the 1022\'s, and the shoelaces are a bit too short. I called New Balance about the laces, and they quickly sent me some replacements.

I have both this shoe and its predecessor, the 1122. The differences are that the 1123 has a less round toe and less indentation on the sole at the arch. The result is more motion control and a more "normal" looking shoe. I am overweight, have no arch at all, had a total knee replacement 7 weeks ago and need the other knee done. I have had this shoe about 9 months. This shoe is wonderful. It is very light for a shoe of its type. The support is the best I have ever had. It isn't even close to wearing out. My big wish for it would be more color choices. I toss mine in the washer, but they never come completely clean. I would love black. I hate having to look like a dork in the winter. I got mine on a super sale, but I would buy it again at full price. I like it that much.

tongue rotates to outside of foot -
Great amount of cushion. Room for orthotic. Good pronation control. Problem with shoe's tongue rotating outward (and if socks aren't tight then socks rotate too - very annoying), and yes shoes come untied. Bit too expensive. Also liked the New Balance older model WR1011 shoe, which is much cheaper, doesn't have the tongue problem, but unfortunately not as softly cushioned under the foot.

I bought this pair of shoes on recommendation for plantar faciitis April \'09. Now that I am finally committed to exhausting all concertaive measure, therefore I am wearing these shoes as soon as my feet hit the floor until I strap on my stabilizing boot when I go to bed. They accomidate my custom orthotics as well as my Dr Scholls orthotic worn with the shoe\'s own insole over top. I have a short, wide foot and the 6.5 D was a perfect fit for me. I expecially like the toe room. I am also able to wear a nice cushy sock inside with room. The support feels like it surrounds the foot. I like that. I feel assured that I am putting the least possible strain and offering the most support as I gradually heal. I am not able to tolerate more than 2-3 hours of continuous walking, but I am working my way back up to those 12-hour shifts that ruined my feet.\r\n\r\nBTW I also bought a pair of MBTs and gave up on them after the first month or so.\r\n\r\nGot PF? Try these shoes.\r\n\r\nStyle? ...if you lke looking like you have your shoes on backwards? Worry about style when you can walk again.

My 4E feet look pretty frisky and devil-may-care in these NBs, which not only come in the extra-extra wide, they even accommodate my orthotic. If only they came in a color other than white. My only quibble with the comfort: the lower underside of the tongue sometimes scratches against my foot. But I can wear them without looking like a moonwalker. This is my second pair, so obviously I\'m a fan.

Purchased this shoe with the understanding that this was one of New Balance's best. Have worn for less than one year. The forefoot cushioning has broken down, which inflames the metatarsal pad area where I need it the most. The tongues are too short, as I have read before, and totally agree, which also makes the laces come undone all the time. Even if tied in a double knot, will work itself loose. Other than that, for a wider toe box to support orthotics, and a 2AA heel, it was a perfect fit.

These are incredibly comfortable shoes. I have not used them for running, so all of my comments refer to walking only. I bought these while on vacation, because of a potential stress fracture in my foot. My old shoes were worn out and I needed to get something to control over-pronation and fit my Rx Vasyli orthotics. These worked out great. I did a lot of walking (more than I should have) and my foot never hurt. I also have a bunion on my other foot and these did not bother it at all (sometimes shoes rub that part of my foot). These seemed to fit true to size (10B) for me, even with the orthotic and cushy athletic socks. These will be my primary workout shoes after my foot injury heals. As others have noted, the shoes look a bit odd with the arch so built up that it looks like your shoes are on the wrong feet! Otherwise, they look nice.

These shoes were comfortable from the moment I put them on. I have tried many styles of NB and these by far are the best for anyone with fallen arches or plantar fasciitis. The extra width more than accommodates my orthotics. And you can always rely on Zappos to get them to you quicker than you can even imagine! It's almost as if you went to the mall! This is at least the 5th pair of shoes I've bought through Zappos and have been more than satisfied each time. Their customer service is surpassed by no one!

Since New Balance discontinued the 1122 model, I decided to try the 1123. It fits true to size, but I miss that nice toe box that the 1122 had because the 1123 does not have enough room for the piggies... it is just a tad small, but I still love New Balance... thanks for making 12Ns.
