Goodbye dear old 608s. They changed . Probably to make extra buck. Here's my story. So I'm not sure of exact year range, but somewhere maybe about 10-15 years ago, in The New Balance start wave of popularity. So when I got of bed my feet were in pain. So I did the rarity of going to a foot doctor. He was going to make me some kind of expensive foot insert. So I ran into a friend shortly after. He was a cook at a restaurant. I asked him how his shoes were. He told me ever since he got his New Balance 608s that his feet have never been better. So I figured why not? Well ever since the first day after I got my first 608s, I was immediately getting out of bed pain free. Well I remember a few years ago a salesman told me the 620 replaced the 608. So I got the 620 and it sucked. Pain from start. So I found more 608s since then and have lived a feet heaven. Until almost recently. The 608s are gone. The new v2 608 shouldn't be allowed to wear the 608 name. They suck, too. So thank you internet! So I found closeouts at a good price. Goods news, I got 23 new original 608s. Cost me some money. But what is 20 years of foot comfort worth? The foot doctor and the one insert would have been the same as what I spent on all these brand new sneakers. As for ever buying another New Balance sneaker?

I bought narrow width shoes hoping they would be narrow. They are not. They are slightly narrower in the heel than a B width, but still wearing two pairs of socks. Length is good. Quality is good. No arch support.

My order for the New Balance shoes was promptly shipped as ordered and since I ordered two pairs, not knowing for sure which size was better for me, the return process was simple and easy to do.\r\n\r\nI will be using Zappos again in the future.

Too hot to handle -
Good looking shoe, but toe box is too tight. The medium width too tight, the wide width too loose and the worst of it is the shoe is so hot; I had to take them off after 20 minutes.

A narrow shoe is difficult to find. I have had New Balance athletic shoes before but when I ordered a different style last year they didn't fit properly. I was so glad to find this cross-trainer as it fit great and was just what I was searching for. They were comfortable to wear all day the first day. The quick free delivery from Zappos (I ordered online one day and received the shoes the next day!) was fantastic! Thanks.

New Balance shoes are comfortable and of the highest quality. The price compared to comparable shoes is also good. I am also pleased with the expediency with which Zappos processed my order and with the company's customer friendliness.

This shoe is a replacement of my old 600 which I actually like a bit more. The 608 give me support and cushioning, but it seems a bit wider than the 600.

Great right out of the box -
I wear these to play tennis. No break in period. Comfy right out of the box. I usually order sneakers a full size up from my regular shoe size.

Sorry it doesn't fit me -
I love this shoe and I love the Zappos service. I regret that I have to return this pair but I have learned from the experience. Now I see that I REALLY have to have very wide shoes. It was the right length, good support, with an adequate toe box, attractive appearance and good material. It is hard to find such a shoe in leather. If Zappos stocked size 2E, I think that would work.

Great shoes -
I have been wearing this type shoe for years. They are lightweight & comfortable. This is my 5th pair of 608's and I will continue to buy them as long as New Balance doesn't discontinue them.

I don't know how I'd survive without these sneakers. I've had 7 foot operations, wear orthotics and wearing these are like walking on air. Great support - I just don't think you can go wrong with these.

Supportive, comfortable - out of the box -
I have wide feet with a bunion issue on the left foot and these sneaks are great. I walk far each day on concrete sidewalks and love the support (though I wore them for an aerobics session and with the lateral motion the shoe parts around my ankle rubbed). As always - I ordered these and had them next day!

The New Balance 508 is very comfortable without a "breaking in" period. This shoe is great for walking. I did buy the shoe a half size larger than I usually do because of the stitching across the toe in the front.

I always wear New Balance shoes...they fit better than any others I've tried. I used to wear Nikes and various other brands, but they are made for very narrow feet, which I do not have. I can wear my NB for walking and any other activity I do and my feet feel great, plus casual wear as they look great too. Also I would like to say that I love ordering from Zappos...the fast shipping and courteous service is the best ever!

New Balance 608 -
I've worn New Balance shoes for work for 4 years and love the support and fit generally. This is the second time I've had the 608. This shoe needs to be worn for awhile before it is comfortable for me, even though I get the wide width. It feels more like a medium width, so by the end of the day, I'm ready to take them off. The service from Zappos was great!

Hard to find a good fit -
I felt that these shoes could have been just a little more snug. The right fits better than the left shoe for some reason, but it could be my hard to fit feet. They are comfortable, but I feel that if they made an 11 1/2, it would fit me much better, but ‘til then… Thanks Zappos for a great company that makes it easy for me to shop for my hard to find size and fit!

Great mid top shoe!
A great mid top shoe - especially since they seem to be going extinct these days. I ordered a second pair after the first worked out so well. Great for fitness classes (kickboxing, step aerobics, etc).

I've been wearing the WX1007 and this is a great replacement for that shoe. Would have preferred a mesh upper instead of leather. Has good arch support and a roomy toe box.

I wear these shoes to Curves and when walking and they are great. Very light and fit my narrow foot wonderfully with adequate arch support. I will definitely order these again.
