I have aches in right foot and left knee. I like the shoes, use them every day. But I still dont know if the shoe is improving my aches or not. But looks like i do like it bec i wear every day. \r\n\r\nZappos like always is the best

I love theses shoes. The 2140 rock! They are all I run in, and the black color are the only color that fit right! Zappos makes it so easy to get the right brand, size, and color. I won't shop anywhere else for might distance shoes.

These shoes fit my hard to fit wide footed husband. Normally I would have to buy him an 11.5 if the width does not accommodate, but these I was able to buy a 10.5 in the 4E width and they fit perfectly. He says they are very comfortable and they are not white so they will not look dirty; the gray finish helps. I would rebuy these.

The Shoe fits, .5 size over true size. But once you know this, the fit is actually just what the Doctor ordered. So, if 11.5, go for 12.0. I have purchased the shoe or the earlier generations starting with 2100 and always been happy for the shoe. Arch is nice, heel is just right, good stability for bad knees and hip. Wish the price would come down a bit, these are regular shoes. Come on. But for comfort, go for it, get a pair.

These shoes have great support, are very comfortable, and feel light. The product info posted sums it up well. I just bought my 3rd pair and would recommend it to anybody who needs a good shoe with additional stability. I appreciate the width options as well, I noticed that somebody else commented on that. I\'ve always had a great experience with Zappos and I\'ve had these shoes express delivered twice!

First of all, the service from Zappos is fantastic! They made my very first purchase extremely easy and the shoes arrived in a blink of an eye. I'm hooked; I'd recommend Zappos to anyone. As for the product: they're Asics what can I say that wouldn't be a redundant superlative? The size was exact and the width, perfection. For those of us with a wider foot, Asics understands the need for the extra width and doesn't pay lip service to the width & fit of the shoe. As for the 2140 model, it's like walking or running a cloud of air. I live in these babies and they last and don't break down easily. In all both Zappos and Asics get my vote for best in show.

I have bought four pairs of the same model shoe over the last two years. They have excellent toe room and a very comfortable foot bed / arch support. I am over 200 pounds and get 500 running miles out of the shoes before they start to feel like they need replacement. I have never come close to actually wearing out the sole or uppers.

A fine pair of shoes for light running and general workouts. If you are doing serious roadwork and running, be sure to go to a specialty store and get fitted first. A knee injury keeps me from running now, so I use these for the gym, weights and elliptical. They're fine. They do feel a bit snug at the end of the day if I haven't taken them off after my workout.

Great shoe. The most comfortable I have ever worn. I wear a size 14 so it is very hard to find shoes. The Asics fits great and is like walking on air. Zappos service and selection can't be beat.

I buy these shoes for my son who runs high school cross country. He runs every day after school at least 3 miles a day, usually more. They work; he never complains of pain.

As always, Zappos blew me away with the fast free upgraded overnight shipping. I have been running in Asics for 20 years (I'm 43), but after a calf strain 3 years ago, my physical therapist recommended that I stick with Asics, but change them every 6 months. She said that with the amount I run, the old shoes lose cushioning after 6 months. I had been getting new Asics every six months, but got lazy in 2009 and didn't replace them for a whole year. Well, I strained the calf again in September 2009, did some rehab on the calf, and got a new pair in Early October. I'm back to running in mid-October in my new GT-2100s and the calf is great. I love these shoes.

Zappos.com saves me so much time shopping. I run a professional race team and to try and find seven guys shoes of different sizes can be painful and time consuming. \r\nI go on to Zappos.com, put in all the sizes, and usually get them within a day or two and it\'s job done in about fifteen minutes.

Great shoes for support. Helps me with my severe pronation. Comfort is simply awesome. I wish I could find a dress shoe that felt as good. Only negative I have would be in the use of nylon throughout the toe area. With plenty of sole and tread remaining, the nylon will age and fatigue. It may tear, causing holes for toe exposure. In spite of that design weakness, these are great shoes.

I went to a local running store and had my foot and stride computer analyzed due to stability problems. I purchased this pair from them and then ordered another pair from Zappos. I love the shoes they are very supportive and stable. I am a serious Asics believer after having them for the past three years. Nike quit making anything that worked for my stability issues. Zappos is wonderful! Very quick shipping and my shoes were at my door within three days of ordering!

The GT-2140 is the best pair of Asics I have bought yet. Great construction quality and perfect fit, yet they did take a little longer to break in than previous ones. I tried a pair of Brooks Beast after my last pair of Asics, but they only lasted about 6 months; I generally get a year of use from the Asics. These 2140s are ultra lightweight, good looking (not flashy) and all day comfortable. I am very satisfied.

Middle of the road, though well crafted. While I'd heard that Asics were a very comfortable shoe I'm a bit torn on these with them being my first pair of Asics Gel shoes. For one, the fit lengthwise is about perfect but in comparison to my prior New Balance (927) walking shoes, the GT-2140's are quite a bit narrower despite being 4E width. Beyond that, the gel cushioning is not as impressive as I thought it would be. Not that New Balance, IMHO, is great with regards to cushioning but I was hoping that the technologies involved in the Asics would be far superior and it still feels relatively similar. As someone that has worn Nike Air and Reebok (DMX and Hexalite respectively) gym shoes in the past, I feel their cushioning systems are far better at absorbing impacts and are more comfortable for longer periods of time. As someone that's on my feet, I work in a grammar school, has fleet feet, and is getting older, and heavier, so is dealing with more aches and pains, such cushioning is becoming more and more important in dealing with heel, back, and knee pain and fatigue. It's just a shame that neither Reebok nor Nike put as much emphasis into the "wider foot" crowd as Asics, Propet, and New Balance are apt to. While their cushioning systems work great it's often nigh on difficult to find pairs of their shoes that fit properly without compromising significantly in one area or another (i.e. getting a 9-9.5 when you wear an 8.5 to compromise for the lack of width). New Balance has the sizing about perfect, the 927's fit perfect from the minute I had them, if only the cushioning in their walking shoes wasn't so weak. I could've sent them back for a size larger but I figured with them being a fabric shoe, the break-in would help and it has, to a degree, even though the footbed still feels quite a bit snug for 4E width. I don't know that exchanging the 8.5/4E for a 9 length, 4E width would help anyhow. Zappos did a great job with sending me the correct product and it came very timely, in fact, shocked me with how quickly it did manage to arrive. I would be very happy to order from them again.

This is a nice lightweight running shoe with good support. ASICS is my preferred sports activity and running shoe. This shoe comes at a very nice price as well. Of course, I found it at Zappos with the fastest shipping on the planet!

I found the fit of this model to be a bit odd. When trying on my normal shoe size, my toes where crunched, so I tried a half size bigger, and the width was too wide and my foot was moving all over the place. I ordered a pair a half size too big and narrow expecting it to solve my problems with the fit. I found that the narrow was a little more snug in the heel, but still too wide in the front. I'm still wearing them and they are just okay, but I wouldn't buy these again, or recommend them.

Not as good as previous years.
I have been buying the GTs for about 4 years now. I used to wear New Balance before trying out the GTs. After the first pair, I stuck with them and I have always been pleased until this current pair. I have had them for a bit and been running on them 3-4 times per week and they just don't seem as good as my previous pairs. I feel my runs in my feet unlike in my previous pairs. Something just seems off, maybe a little cheaper in the manufacturing or something. I will start looking for a new running shoe.

These are the worst shoes I ever bought from zappos. Within two months both shoes wore through where the side of my small toe was located. I think these shoes were not properly sized by width as they were of a smidge. I was shocked as I usually got prtty good product through Asics. Now I am not sure I want to buy another pair from this manufacturer.

I am normally an Asics believer. I've owned a pair of Gel-Nimbus, and Gel-Kayano, both of which worked well for the short period that they lasted. This time around, since I tend to run these shoes down pretty quick, I decided to save a little and buy the Gel 2140 in hopes of getting a little more value. Well, from the get-go I had trouble with these shoes. If you are used to the Kayano these shoes are not as soft and unless you are a heavy pronator, the 2140s may eventually cause you some pain. These shoes are very stiff and are really designed for heavy over-pronators. The lack of flex in these shoes caused blisters to form on the inside bridge of my feet. The upper mesh on all Asics seems questionable as I have almost always ended with a hole in the top of the shoe above my big toe after only a month or two of use. So unless you know you need some heavy stability shoes and don't mind replacing them often, these shoes may not be for you.
