Feels like the 8; better than the 9 and 10. Another great update to a classic shoe. Tried the Mizuno Wave 8 when the Nimbus 9 disappointed me with its narrow toe box and extra cushioned footbed. This shoe is about 25% stiffer, giving great support when running in the early AM outside, or late at night with the owls. Toe box is a bit roomier and the upper a bit taller. If you liked the Nimbus 9 and 10, you probably find this shoe too structured.

Love 'em. Took a little bit to get used to the extra padding, as my last two pairs of running shoes were Asics Cumulus, which I also love. I'm a supinator and my feet and knees feel great with these for 10k runs. Best shoes I've owned for streets or treadmills.

Great shoe!
This was my first Nimbus purchase. I previously used ASICS Cumulus 8s and 9s. Right out of the box, I took these Nimbi on a 21-mile run, and had no hot-spots or blisters! They felt good on the soles of my feet, but somehow seemed to squeeze my feet in the width -- I wear a 4E, but the Cumulus iterations always felt plenty wide. Perhaps the Nimbus has a narrower toebox. I'm hoping I can just adjust the "eccentric lacing" to give me just a tad more space. Then these will be the shoe style I wear to Boston in April. I had been planning on wearing the New Balance 1063, but so far I like this ASICS Nimbus 11 better.

Sweet kicks! These are my first pair of Asics and they are nice. Last pair of runner's I purchased were Mizuno and I like the toe box fit of the Mizunos better. It seems roomier for some reason with the Mizunos. The Asics aren't bad, though.

I am a fairly heavy runner, 200+ lbs, have a neutral, mid foot strike. I typically train and race in Asics DS Trainers and Zoot shoes, but was looking to try a true cushioned shoe for marathon distance training. I have trained and raced in almost every brand shoe over the last 28 years and had the best results with Asics. This is the one if you don't need a shoe to correct major pronation issues. As with all Asics shoes, I find that they run true to size and width and I am able to run them right out of the box with no break in needed. Buying a second pair of these!

These shoes are great. However, while recently exploring the craze toward barefoot running, I'm a little scared of the extreme padding in the heel. That being said, they are very comfortable and the Zappos exclusive color is sweet.

These shoes are great! I have trouble with knee pain due to ITBS so I require a good cushioning shoe and this is the best I have tried. I also love the big toe box. I have used them up to half-marathon distances without any problem. \r\n\r\nI did have concerns when first trying the shoe on because it felt like a big volume shoe, but it\'s turned out not to be an issue for me. \r\n\r\nI am so impressed with this model that I am waiting for it to go on clearance so that I can stock up.

I Just Felt Like Running. Zappos like always delivers on time, ordered the shoes 10 at night, by 5 pm the next day they were at my house ready for me. No wonder Zappos is one of the best places to shop on the web! Oh Asics, Oh Asics, How you got done the basics with the Gel-Nimbus 11. My feet felt as if they were in heaven, the insole was replaced because it felt flimsy it didn't help in anyway, while the gel in the heel and forefoot were constructed with care and Asics' objective of providing a top of the line cushioning running apparatus was accomplished. Running in these shoes was like running on clouds, so when will you come out with a "Stratus"? I recently ran my first 1/2 marathon and the wore these Gel-Nimbus 11. The Zappos exclusive color of Lightning, Black & Lime were very nice, reminded me of grabbing a tequila shot after the race. Miles 1-5 were dream, as the cushioning absorbed the impact of the road as it should. Mile 6-8 were a cake as it helped handle the hills, Mile 9-11 started to wear on my knee, but the shoe did its job of pushing me, while mile 12-13 were scream as I neared the finish line I really didn't care about the time. Just that I would finish was my intention and with some intervention of this high-quality shoe I was able to finish this race at a moderate pace and felt really great that I will continue to run because it is so much fun. My only complaint was the price, but then again you get what you pay and this was worth it.

Great product, I'm a big runner getting back into it. I'm concerned about my knees, so I wanted to get a good pair of shoes. This pair fits the bill. I have a wide foot and a high instep so finding shoes that are comfortable is tough. I was able to get everything I need with this shoe.

I would have to agree with some earlier reviews of this shoe and say that I prefer the Nimbus 10s over the 11. As an avid runner I've been wearing Asics Nimbus models dating back to the 8s. Prior to that I went through a myriad of shoes that just didn't work for me. I was completely satisfied with the 8s and have kept the same style for every purchase since. And ever since the 8s, I've felt the Nimbus had the same fit, until my recent pair of 11s. The 11s just don't fit my feet well. They are too wide at the metatarsus section (midfoot to the balls of the feet). Thus, when I run my feet tend to shift around in the shoe a bit. In order to combat this I've tried to cinch down the laces, which in turn has made my toes scrunch up and caused pain during runs in excess of 6 miles. I still think Asics are the way to go, but after 200 miles in the 11s I've decided to go back to the 10s. For those of you that have been satisfied with the previous Nimbus models, I'll offer one word of advice. The 11 is much different than previous models so I would recommend either going to a store to try the 11s on, or be willing to send Zappos back the shoes if you feel the same thing that I felt.

I bought these for my son and now he understands what comfort is. Of course kids never want to listen to Mom. They are true to size and the arch support is great. He is not complaining of his feet hurting anymore; he needed arch support!

Like another reviewer I am a woman with large feet (sad but true). I have a wide forefoot which makes finding comfortable walking shoes challenging. I finally settled on a mens size with a 4E width. I had been wearing New Balance because they offer so many size options, but even with their wider sizes I found that the outside area (the large bone on the outside of my foot, near the little toe) would be painful after walking 3 miles. The Asics offers more support at the outer edge of the foot eliminating the pain on the outside of my foot.

Asics are by far the best. The Nimbus 11 is a great shoe for support all around. I am on my feet all day, and these shoes feel great. It's hard to go wrong with Asics. The extra money is worth it, although the price is a little high for any shoe.

Asics offers 4E which is a great asset. I still need to cut away fabric in the toe box, which is not sufficiently roomy. Just ran the Hartford Marathon in this shoe, and ended up with 4 black toes!

I bought these sneakers for my husband. He said they are the best sneakers he has ever worn. The comfort is remarkable. My son tried them on. Guess what. He loved them also. So I ordered another pair for my son. Didn't want to feel left out; I just ordered myself a pair also, in the womens brand. Zappos, you're the best!

Unbelievable comfort from this running shoe. I have low volume feet with an average width. Shoe fits great for my type of foot structure. Asics also offers wider sizes in this model if you need it. Gel is great and liked the color combo, which I believe you can only get through Zappos.

Got the Zappos exclusive design. Great looking. Ran in Nimbus 10s (the greatest comfort/padding shoe ever) the past year. Don't like the redesign of the toe quite as much, but overall the padding and fit are still incredible. Have tried multiple other more expensive shoes, and find these better.

I had the gel-nimbus 9, which were great, finally needed a new pair, didn't like the nimbus 10 colors, so waited a little longer, finally got the gel-nimbus 11, great fit, super comfortable, they feel like no breaking in is needed. NO complaints.

I am stationed in Baghdad, Iraq. I ordered my shoes online and received them in a lightning fast 6 days. I am a neutral runner. First, let me say it took me about 6 months to find running shoes I really liked and that were comfortable. I went with the Nimbus 10s and have been running in them for about 8 months. Now I'm also using my new black/lime colored Nimbus 11s and I can already feel the difference. The 10s are great, don't get me wrong, but the 11s have noticeably more cushioning and fit around my foot much better, very comfortable. I can tell there have been improvements made to the midsole. The memory foam tongue is a nice touch, I hope Asics continues with that on future models. I'm glad they stayed with the non-standard lacing configuration. I never thought that could make a difference in running shoes, but it does for me! I think the cut of the material looks better on the 11s than the 10s as well. Again, love my Nimbus 10s, but I think I'm already loving the Nimbus 11s even better. Probably going to order another pair soon as I'm running my first marathon in 2 months.

These are great shoes. So far I have run 20 miles in them, and could not be happier. What I noticed first was the full mesh toe box that helps alleviate toe friction. Biomechanical design improvements include a midsole that is full ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) allowing for extra stability and more cushioning. The 11s are four ounces lighter than the 10s. Not a huge difference, but noticeable.

I bought these shoes to use as cross trainers for the gym and running. The shoes look great and are super comfortable, but apparently Asics runs a little big for my feet so I had to return the size 16 for a size 15, which was a breeze thanks to Zappos.

Different fit and feel than the Gel-Nimbus 10 -
So I've run in the Gel-Nimbus 8, 9, 10, and 11s over the past 3 or so years. I've got about 30 miles on the 11s so I thought it was about time to share my experience with them thus far. Compared to the 10s, which I really liked, these for me personally rank lower. While there are some nice new features like the memory foam tongue backing and more open toebox, these new features aren't enough to make up for some of the other changes I'm feeling. In terms of shock absorption and cushioning there is certainly more of it. The Gel-Nimbus is starting to feel more like it did back in the days of the 8. To me, the heal seems to actually have a bit too much cushioning to the point where it almost feels as if it's providing a slight forward lean. There is additional cushioning in the forefoot, too, which seems to make the shoe slower for sure -- and I'm not really a fast runner. I'll be honest and say that my feet and legs have been really tired after 7+ mile runs in them, more so than any other Gel-Nimbus upgrade I've gone through. Concerning pronation and support, I have quite a neutral gate yet they feel slightly unsupportive even to me on roads with a steeper camber or when taking a turn. I feel like I'm riding "high" in them with all the cushioning. Much more than I did with the 10s. All that said, they are starting to break in a bit more. At 6'3" and 200 lbs I'm no small wearer either. I'm hoping that the cushioning and midsole continues to compress a bit over the next several weeks. On a related note, I needed two new pairs of runners so that I could rotate. I decided for my second pair to go with the new Asics GT-2140. In terms of cushioning I think the 2140 feels very close to the Gel-Nimbus 10. The support, which I don't need much of, that I feel in the 2140 reminds me of the Gel-Nimbus 10 when new, too. Assuming the Gel-Nimbus 11s don't feel much better after the next 30 or so miles I'm probably going to order another pair of 2140s -- I like them that much even coming from the Gel-Nimbus line.

Not only did they do that, they always email you right away when you place an order. Other websites take so long, you worry if they even got the order. And, in Zappos website, it's so helpful. When looking at an item, it gives all the information you need. Your size, your color, and price range you are willing to spend.
