Having been a military style runner for 20 years, I feel that I can comment on the shoe in laymens terms. I'm not sure what the latest buzzwords on running shoes are. I purchased these shoes in preparation for the 2010 Ironman in Madison, Wi. I really like how the shoe feels like there is no need for a sock. I wear a size 10 and I have a wide foot. I wasn't able to buy a WIDE version, so I bought the medium width. The shoe hugs your feet. It was tight at first width wise, but has since loosened up. The first run I took in them resulted in the back of my heel becoming raw from rubbing. However, the second run etc., etc...it hasn't happened again. The width has also become less of an issue. The neoprene like body of the shoe has stretched to perfectly fit my foot. The shoe is very light compared to the other novice shoes I've worn, such as the Under Armor running shoe it replaced. I don't like the tongue, and how it is sewn on one side, and not the other. I realize that was supposed to be for TRI's, but it seems useless. However, I recommend this shoe.
