I actually got these for an elderly relative who is a walker. They were recommended by her podiatrist. She loves them. The velcro is a great option for those who have trouble tying laces.

The tongue of the shoe ruined the fit for me. I was really looking forward to getting these shoes mainly because they appeared to have good room for my orthotic and I wanted the ease of a velcro closure. I wasn't to concerned about looks because I have been wearing the New Balance 1123 and even though it is great for supination it is kind of ugly. This 927 is easily roomy enough for an orthotic because I feel like it runs very wide and a touch long. The main problem for me is the tongue of the shoe. It is very cushioned and bulky and not really long enough for me. I am sure it is thick to keep the velcro from bothering your skin or pinching, but it is short and on my foot it barely came above the top velcro strap. Maybe it's just how my feet and ankles are built, but it also felt like a wad on the top of my foot and looked like a wad, too. To get it to fit and lay right it took as much time as lacing so it negated the reason for having velcro in the first place. Might be good for diabetics that need cushioning around the ankles. I had to send them back.

I wear these shoes every day when I walk, so comfortable, but I could not believe how fast they arrived! This was my first experience ordering from Zappos and it was great. Ordered and delivered! I will order from them again.

I purchased these shoes for my Mother, and she likes the overall fit, and comfort. With these features, I would recommend the shoe. The only complaint she has about the shoe is the weight. Otherwise, it is a good overall shoe.

Overall a good shoe. I have a narrow foot and in terms of width, these are the best fitting shoe of this type that I ever bought. Plenty of room in the toe box for emerging hammer toe. However, I bought this model, made on the SL-9 shoe last, because it had a narrow heel and yet I still have some heel slippage. I pronate inward and after two days on my feet in these shoes, I could feel pressure spots (not sores) on my ankle area.

I've been buying from Zappos now for several years. I don't always choose the right style or size, but there's never a problem returning or exchanging the shoes. I like the ease or returning; I don't have to provide the box, the money for the return and I don't have to wait around at the UPS store. I just plunk down the box and they wave me off. Now, about these particular shoes by New Balance, I want to say they are very comfortable. I do have to remove the insole to make room for my orthotic, though. I think the sizing on this shoe is quite accurate and I'm happy with the velcro closures. I have had velcro pop loose with some Propét shoes I've had, but not on these by New Balance. A great company with great products. Keep it up, Zappos.

I live near an outlet and have only been there once. I buy shoes for everyone; me, my husband, my grandkids. I have NEVER had a bad experience at Zappos, never been refused wonderful and courteous service. There is no one out there in the world that I know of who has the customer service you do. It is unparalleled and the reason people come back and back. Zappos is successful in every way because of the customer service. Shoes can be bought anywhere. Customer happiness cannot. I have several stores and online sites that I will never shop at again because of customer service. I only give a place of business, including restaurants, one time to mess up.
