My husband usually has to try on a number of shoes in the store before he finds that perfect pair. Knowing that Zappos friendly return policy would provide an easy experience, I took a chance on the Merrell Encore Slide. He's a teacher and on his feet all day, so "sliding" his feet out of the shoe is a great respite. The very first pair of Encore Slides he got were so wonderfully comfortable, that he asked for a second identical pair. By the way, they stay on all day!

I bought this shoe for my son-in-law who stands on his feet all day as a store manager. He says they are very comfortable and great looking. They were also true to size.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Have had good luck with Clarks for men also.

I have a very high arch and can\'t get into many shoes like the Encore Groove. The construction of this model, with the stitching on each side creates more of a box then and arch.\r\n\r\nI also have plantar fasciitis. This model has been great for that too. I can wear them all day long and rarely experience the foot pain that I do with most shoes. For me the style goes well with many outfits (short, slacks, etc). I highly recommend them.

I never intended to buy a slip-on shoe like this one, but once I tried them on, I was hooked. This will definitely not be my last/only pair. This shoe is REALLY comfortable! I have worn them to work as a casual shoe and I have worn them out in the yard. They are equally at home in both settings, I believe. The only downside I’ve noticed is that, because of the matte finish on the leather, they are a little harder to keep clean than a shiny leather would be, but I am very, very glad I bought them.

I would like to start off by saying: Zappos.com is amazing. My first order with Zappos.com wasn't that long ago. On one of my orders, Zappos was so amazing to give me a special priority in upgrading my shipping date to the next day I placed my order. What other place does that? Not only did they do that, they always email you right away when you place an order. Other websites take so long, you worry if they even got the order. And, in Zappos website, it's so helpful. When looking at an item, it gives all the information you need. Your size, your color, and price range you are willing to spend. AND if the item is sold out, they email you once the item is back in stock. Come on! What other website does all of this! None! When I receive my shipment(s) at home, the packaging is so cute, neat.
