After a brief falling out when Montrail was purchased by Columbia, this shoe has reinvigorated my love affair with Montrail footwear. It feels fantastic, has killer traction, great support, breathes well while maintaining awesome waterproofing, and looks pretty sharp, too. I'm tough on shoes, and I love how this one has a really tight grip on my heel for trail running, but a wider toe box for all around comfort. One issue I've had with Montrail's in the past is the fabric on the inside of the foot deteriorates more quickly as my feet brush against each other (or rocks, trees, etc.) while running. This style combats that by putting a mesh exterior on one side of the shoe, and a leather exterior on the other (the side I usually demolish), and that's made a huge difference. All around awesome shoe. I did swap out the insole for better support after I had been in them for a couple of weeks, but other than that this shoe is amazing out of the box.

These shoes are really uncomfortable. I've tried wearing them several times but each time I end up with bloody heels. I emailed Montrial 3 times with questions about the shoe, but they never once bothered to respond to my emails. Montrial customer service is terrible and these shoes are just as bad. I guess they go hand in hand.

I love my Montrails. I have sensitive feet and Montrails fit better than any other brand of shoe I have tried. These shoes are perfect for me. I work 10+ hour days as a nurse and they get me through the day. And they are also great trail runners. Not too heavy, waterproof, good stability. I'm totally thrilled with these shoes.
