Finally found what I was looking for!
This Frye Manny Chukka boot is fantastic in terms of style and quality. I recommend going one half size down from what you would wear in sneakers for these boots. I usually wear a 10 and bought a 9.5 and there is no slip in the back. I bought the Maple color and it's a nice dark brown, not tan.

Only problem was sizing. Normally, I wear a 9.5. In this shoe I took an 8.5, so they seem to run long. The width of 8.5 was a bit more snug than I was used to wearing, but luckily these shoes tend to break in easily. The leather is very soft and comfortable. I would not recommend this shoe to someone with wide feet.

 | | I want you to know how pleased I am that my dad received his shoes so quickly! He got them today. I am amazed! He is a patient at the VA hospital in Denver. He is a WWll combat veteran who lost his leg after stepping on a land mine. Recently, he was taken to the VA hospital because no one at his present home could care for him. He was sick, malnourished, and to add insult to injury, could not use his prosthetic leg because it caused a sore on his amputated stump. To shorten a long story, he had no shoes with him with which to begin learning to use his new prosthesis. I ordered them Saturday as soon as I hung up talking with him and he received them today. Now he can begin the long journey to regain his stride and health. He will be returning to the east coast of Virginia to be with family. My sincerest thanks for helping my dad recover and come home to me. Barbara I. | | ~ Barbara I., September 29 2009
