Started with a 5.5 and ended with a 7, which was the first one I could get my foot into after trying a 6.5. It was like the leather is too stiff for my foot to slip around the ankle part into the footbed; weird but true and I have a small foot. The boot is street tough and made well, but stiff all over like it would take a long time to break these in. It feels like they are wearing me and not moving with the way my foot and ankle move. Couldn't wait to get them off. The insole is glued heavy into it so I tried my insole on top of it, which made the arch area super tight. If I hadn't also bought the Born Miriam, which is ultra cushioned and slides on like a glove and looks just as tough and made of soft suede, I might have thought I had to suffer and taken these to a shoe repair and asked if they could soften the leather or wear them in on some machine for me. The look is not worth the discomfort for me.

So far I can't get my foot in the boot which is very odd. Without any reviews I ordered a 5.5, but it was too small. I exchanged for a 6.5 and my foot will still not go into the boot. Weird. They are made of beautiful leather, but they look like they will need some breaking in as it's quite stiff feeling. I am going to try a 7, which I have never worn in my life, and see if that will work. They look well made and smell delicious if you like the smell of leather. My foot is small so I am not sure what's up with the shaft of this boot.
