The gumshoe is a great casual shoe. It is very comfortable with its soft insoles. There is not any arch support, but the shoe seems to be made very well and will hold up for a long time. The hemp material seems to stretch a little so I wish I would have ordered a size smaller. It seems most reviews I read said the shoe ran small for its size. Thanks again Zappos for the fast service!

Very good shoes, had to get one size larger. These shoes are tough. Not as much cushion as my Simple Loaf off roads, but comfy. Eco friendly, and affordable. No need for socks; the organic cotton will take care of you.

These shoes have much more padding then expected. I own three other pairs of simple shoes, all size 12. I ordered these in size 12 and they fit perfectly. I wear 12 in every brand; they are true to size.

I love these shoes! That said, some of my friends look at me with quizzical looks on their faces when I step outside in them. They do look a bit like funkified house shoes. (Rather than a subjective five stars, I gave the shoe an objective four stars for style in light of comments I\'ve received upon them.)\r\n\r\nI have worn two other pairs of Simples. In both, I wore a size 13. I ordered a 14 in the Gumshoe and had to return it for a 15. The 15 fits.

I expected this shoe to be my first minimalist shoe, but it had alot more cushioning than I expected. Still its built very well and sturdy, perfect for it\'s intended use, which i believe is casual. The heel folds down so you can wear it like a slipper, which I don\'t like because it makes the heel too weak-it can fly off your foot if you\'re too active(kicking etc.). If it wasn\'t for the heel I would have loved to keep it, but as it is I might return it.

Extremely comfortable, breath well, I ordered a half size up and they fit great. They will feel tight at first but after a few times wearing them they stretch to a comfortable fit.

Jute/rubber soles are too slippery for me - I love these shoes except for the soles which are made of recycled rubber (Great!), but also jute. The jute makes the soles slick on the hardwood floors in my home, almost as slick as walking in socks. And at work I go up and down wooden stairs, so these, while beautiful and super comfortable, would actually be dangerous for me. I love these shoes otherwise! Simple Shoe Co., be true to the name and give me true gum shoes that won't slip on hardwood floors. Then I'll buy these in every color. If hardwood floors and stairs aren't a concern for you, I say get these, but of course get a size larger (as noted in the description) that you usually buy. These are comparable to Simple's 'Loaf' style shoe (which I own and love), but thinner so better for warm weather.

The shoes are great for spring/summer. Buyer beware, they run at least a half size small. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe, and I ordered 9s for these. I had to send them back and get 9.5s because I couldn't get my wide feet into them. But other than that I am happy with them.

Great shoes. Comfortable and soft, a little bit tight in the toes (I did order up one size, as suggested). They go fine with socks or sockless.

Great shoe -
The Simple Gumshoe is very comfortable and is nice looking. The only drawback is the sole. It is a recycled car tire with hemp woven in. The hemp wore down immediately. Also, I usually wear a size 13 but this fits me in a 15.

Good summer shoe -
This shoe runs a half size too small. It is a shoe for the summer because if you try to wear socks it is a little tight still. So if you want to wear socks I would try 1 size larger. After getting the correct size, it is a great shoe.

Comfy and easy to walk in. If you have a wide foot, they may be a little tight, but the shoe seems to stretch out a bit after wearing.
