I must have wider feet than others who bought this shoe, as I had to exchange them for the wide (EE) version. Thank you to Zappos for making it easy and painless! They have a good amount of stability, which is something I like in a trail shoe. They're also good for wearing to the gym; their stability helps when doing balance exercises (one-legged deadlifts, etc). My one complaint is that they are indeed slick on damp tile surfaces. Watch your step.

Great walking shoe. Good arch support. Took them out of the box and they felt like old friends, very comfortable. True to size and width. Highly recommend this shoe. Also, dealing with Zappos is a pleasure. Ordered them one day and the next day they were at my front door; best customer service on the planet.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: I am exclusive with New Balance and all of their styles are good.

I was unable to get the 811s because they were discontinued. I bought my first pair of 812s and like them better than the 811s. More comfort and more toe room are excellent upgrades. I run 5 days a week with them and from day one, they were awesome. I will purchase them again in the future and I do highly recommend them.

I love New Balance shoes because of their width availability and these shoes in particular because of the aggressive lug design, great laces (don't come undone unnecessarily) and comfortable fit. Great shoes!

I have flat feet that are very wide and these shoes fit great. I do a lot of hiking on trails and they hold stellar both from a performance and fit perspective. The only downside is they aren't the most stylish shoe but I usually go for the performance and fit over style.

I have been wearing New Balance sneakers for many years, and love the room in the toe box area. Since I exercise often, these sneakers meet the challenge. I wear a size 9.5 shoe, however, with New Balance I take a half size larger. Good arch support, and I love the eye catching colors.

I bought the MT 812s hoping that they would provide more traction than my New Balance 621s, which they do. However, they do not have the forefoot support, thickness, or stability that the 621s (now 622) offers. The construction is similar to my NB 748s , but with far better traction, both on and off-road. The toe box is slightly smaller than the 621, but not tight. The MT812 runs true to size for me. Like the traction, but not the level of support.

The shoe is very light and comfortable. The large mesh area allows good air flow to help keep your feet cool. The toe box is wider then most, but is not uncomfortable. It also helps in keeping the toes cool. The only problem I have found is that it is slick on hard wet floors. The cleated sole is good on dirt and grass, but be careful when walking on a tiled floor.

This is my third pair of the MT812, it offers the extra width, has great support, durable and well ventilated. I often hike off-road and needed a well supported extra wide shoe. Very comfortable right out of the box. Zappos has great customer service and New Balance is unbeatable!
Other brands recommended by reviewer: New Balance is what I buy, extra wide widths and many designs to chose

As usual the running shoe is the quality I expect from New Balance. Their shoes have given the right support for my exercise program and have lasted a long time. I usually get between a year or two before I feel a difference in the spring to the cushion in the shoe. Then I get another year or two using it as a work shoe around the house. New Balance is only available in limited styles in stores. Most stores only offer either the cheap 400 or 500 series or the high end shoes that are $120 or so. Zappos has a large selection so I could get the price that I was willing to pay, the color that I wanted and lastly the EE width I need. Zappos delivered it before expected.

I recently purchased a pair of 812s to replace my 2 year old 809s. My intent was to just get another pair of the same because I was very pleased with them, but couldn't find them on your website. While looking through the assortment of options I came across the 812s and discovered they are the replacements for the 809 model. While content with the new all terrains, I find the comfort and looks to be a step in the wrong direction. Wish the 809s were still available.

I am extremely pleased with my recently purchased New Balance MT812. I have a narrow (B width)foot and find Zappos is the only place I\'ve been able to find good choices. This pair fit perfectly out of the box and have been comfortable from the first wearing. They were true to size, well constructed and very stylish! I highly recommend them!

I have very wide feet (EEE+), and these shoes are easily the most comfortable I have ever worn. They didn't even need to stretch! Plus, there's enough strength in the back that I can just push my foot into it to put it on without having to tie and untie it, a real plus when I'm in a hurry. Additionally, Zappos is amazing. I placed this order at 9 pm on a Wednesday night, and the shoes got to me on Thursday afternoon. I have no idea how they did that, but it's awesome. Thanks, Zappos!

Nothing out performs a New Balance shoe, but that comes with a price. New Balance shoes are expensive. On the plus side, New Balance shoes are road ready the day you open the package up. Very little breaking in is required.

Latest in a long series of New Balance shoes purchased because they are available in a wide size ---- 4E... When I consider running/tennis/walking shoes...New Balance is the only brand due to their widths available. These shoes continue the tradition of a good fit and very acceptable quality.

Wow, what a difference between these and plain sneakers!!! I started running like many do to get into better shape, but all I had when I started was a pair of skate shoes. Running would cause lots of pain on the top of my foot and I was doing more damage than anything to my feet and body. Also, if I ever ran on a treadmill the skate shoes were incredibly loud due to the flat bottoms. I made the investment and bought the MT812s after hearing my sister rave about the difference running shoes really make. I put them on and was very comfortable, and running in them is more than a joy. When I run the shoes just guide me into a proper form, its unbelievable. Treadmill running is now quiet and my feet have not hurt for ONE second after a run, walk, or jog. Great shoes for under $100...sized perfectly, look great and they fit very very well.

Not just another New Balance shoe -
The toe box in this shoe is far more comfortable than almost any other model of NB I've worn in the past 20 years. That may partially be due to the custom orthotics in the shoes, but I suspect that the large mesh area between the tongue and toe box makes for a slightly more flexible fit. Kudos to the Zappos sales person for finding these for me!

I bought this shoe for hiking and walks through the woods nearby. The 12.5 wide size is hard to find, but fits perfectly. I exchanged the inner sole for a more technical type, and then hiked for a week straight on vacation. Perfect! Highly recommended! They look great, too.

The MT812 is the "step" in the evolution of New Balance's line of trail running shoes with some welcome refinements which should lead to longer life. The fit is true to NB sizing and, like its predecessors; this shoe cradles your foot for excellent support. Stability and traction are very good. As is the workmanship. A really nice advance in NB's all-terrain range of footwear. They just keep getting better.

I have a narrow foot, and New Balance makes lots of different styles in narrow. I have never been disappointed in NB shoes. However, they do seem to run a little short, so I ordered a half-size larger than the Rockports I wear.

I have wide feet. They don't actually measure that way, but anything less than EEEE and my toes feel cramped. Proof's in the pudding, right? Any-way, this is the 4th pair of this style I've purchased. They feel true to size, width, and the arch support is good. I have a pair for everyday use and a pair I run in. Now I'm not a big time runner, but will occasionally run a 5K. Now as for Zappos, you can't beat them. The shoes arrive promptly, they are what you ordered, and if you have any problem -- Zappos pays for you to send them back. For me, that's a real selling point.

 | | I want to tell you a story. I was born with two club feet and while I have done my share of dancing, hiking, and generally having fun with feet that work okay, the many operations left them rather unpretty, a little misshapen and definitely wider/shorter than most feet in proportion to the carrying bodies. Finding shoes that fit and are comfortable is a rarity for me. I search through stores regularly, more often than not
leaving empty handed. I took a chance with Zappos. There were some excellent deals and the size claimed to be what I might need. A box arrived. It said "Packed with Happiness." Inside was my order 4 pairs of shoes and a pair of boots. They not only all fit, they all fit amazingly well. The box may very well have been packed with happiness, but let me tell you, not as much happiness as it was opened with!!! Thank you oh so much. You can't imagine what this is for me. With Special Thanks, Walking on Air, Cathie G.
