These shoes look nice, but they are not made well. The description says "Italian uppers" but the shoes are made in India. The leather is poor quality and scuffs very easily. The shoes also squeak when walking. I am surprised Johnston & Murphy would put their brand name on these shoes.

These shoes are marvelous, if you like Italian Johnston & Murphy’s you will like these. The last does seem to run a bit narrow as a narrow Italian is like medium in this Indian made shoe. Zappos quickly and courteously made the exchange and went beyond what any vendor would have done face to face to make a customer happy. The shoe is comfortable and has drawn compliments from other J&M aficionados , I of course let them know about Zappos. I do find that it would be helpful if country of manufacturer would be handy as they all fit differently widthwise.

Shoes arrived as promised and were just what I wanted. I was sold on the idea of ordering on line because I can return the shoes if they don't fit or are not exactly what I wanted. Zappos takes the risk out of on line ordering and I plan to use them again.

He Loves Them!!!
I have a very difficult time finding shoes for my husband. He has a wide foot with a high instep and although he likes loafers, we can rarely find ones that fit and are comfortable. The availability of the wide size and the fluted decoration at the instep made these shoes exceptionally comfortable for him. He loves them!

This is my first pair of Johnston & Murphy shoes and I am completely satisfied with them. I normally wear Allen Edmonds shoes, but the Johnston & Murphy's fit better and are much more comfortable. Only time will tell about durability, but if they hold up well, I will switch my brand loyalty.

When my pair of boots arrived in less than perfect condition, I had hoped to exchange them for a new pair. Unfortunately, you were out of stock. A wonderful representative offered tips on how to clean up the boots, offered to search other stores to see if they had the boots in stock, and even asked if I would like a refund before returning the boots! I decided to keep the boots for a few more days, as I was not interested in purchasing from another retailer. Luckily, Zappos received more boots in stock within the week. Another rep sent my order straight away and ensured that the new pair were in perfect condition. Best yet - they sent the new pair with overnight shipping!
