I bought these for walking on paved trails in the area because I had heard great things about this brand. Was not disappointed! I loved them so much that I bought a SECOND pair 2 weeks later in basic white for casual everyday wear. Great shoe, really has helped relieve back and hip strain. Not sure if my bottom and legs are perkier/firmer because of the shoes or because I now get out and walk 5 - 7 times a week. After reading the many reviews, I did order a full shoe size above what I would normally wear and it was a perfect fit.

Okay so, I've been debating buying these shoes for awhile because they're pretty pricey and a bit funny looking. I'm 29 years old and do still worry about fashion as well as taking care of my body. Well I finally bought a pair! I actually think they're adorable; they look really cute with shorts and capris and they feel so good on my body. Not only are they comfortable on my back, but I feel like they firm my lower body and improve my posture as I walk and stand. Love 'em! My boyfriend did say they look a little special ed, but at this point they feel so good I really don't care.

This is my first pair of MBTs and I loved them so much I immediately bought another pair. They are very comfortable and easy to get used to. I bought them because I have arch pain and when I am wearing them I have no pain at all. In addition, I have had compliments on how nice they look. I ordered a size up from my regular shoe size. Best of all, they were on sale!

I am writing this review mostly to praise Zappos. The MBT Chapa GTX are great shoes, I got them because I am prego and stopped running so thought I would get a good work out and I can say they are well made and I have absolutely no sciatica which I usually have. SO they may be helping. The greatest part of ordering them however was Zappos customer service. I ordered a 7.5 (I am normally a 7) and still needed a bigger size so they do run small. It was so easy to return them. The person on the phone was kind and intelligent and helpful and sent me a mailing label immediately and sent the new size in two days. I was so impressed with their helpful attitude and the ease of ordering as well as the return that I will now order from no one else online!!

A funny looking shoe, but very comfortable. The brand makes some serious claims about what this shoe can do for you, and for the most part, they are right. Plenty of shock absorption makes for a very comfortable day if you spend most of it standing or walking. Takes awhile to get used to walking properly in them, so take the time to wear them around at home before you wear them for a full day out. Definitely watch the DVD that comes with the shoes. Most importantly, these shoes run very small. I wear a size 7 in most everything and I had to order a size 8 for this style. I have a medium to wide foot, so if you have a narrow foot, maybe go up just half a size.

My second pair of MBT's -
I like what these shoes do for my posture by causing me to stand more upright since I tend to slump as I get tired. The comfort level allows me to wear them longer than many other athletic type shoes when I am on my feet all day, which is most days. They are not the most attractive shoes for wearing out and about, but it is a trade off. Wearing them to Lowe's or the local nursery if fine. I recommend them for the advertised benefits, which seem overstated, but nevertheless they are still much different than the usual athletic shoes. My biggest reservation is the cost.

Shoe runs small and tight thru the width even when I ordered up a size. If I went up even a size higher my heel would slip so I have to stay in the size I have. I do like the "workout" and I have a heel problem and these help. They are waterproof, I have worn them in the snow.

Not a bad look for MBT!
I am normally a 6 and listened to the reviewers and ordered a 7.5. Good thing because I couldn't have fit into a 7!! The shoe is better looking than most of the MBTs. Looks more like a hiking shoe. They are heavy -- if you've been looking for an MBT this may be the answer for you. The tough part is wearing anything else after wearing MBTs.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: nothing to compare to an MBT!!

Long process getting used to -
I have arthritic hips, work standing and am finding more ways to support myself and avoid surgery - initially MBT's are terrific, but have to limit to an hour or two per day, or even every other day - in week 3 and still hopeful...slow process - started with 15 minutes several times per day.

These are worth every penny!
I bought a pair of these exact shoes: chapa with GORTEX. I own an outside business with lots of walking and lots of dirt. I have owned them for 2 months and they are worth every penny. Yes, they are incredibly expensive but you get what you pay for. I usually wear 8-8.5 and had to buy a 9 in this pair. When I get them extremely dirty, I wash them off with a water hose while wearing them and the next day when it's time to go out again, they look brand new & clean. I bought mine locally to get the size right, but now I will be buying them from Zappos in the future. I have bought many shoes from Zappos and they always arrive next day. They took no getting used to and my muscles never got sore. They are the most comfortable walking and working shoe that is on the market. The difference between these and my new balance tennis shoes is when I've been working on my feet for 10+ hours, my heels never hurt like they did in the new balance. So therefore, my feet never hurt anymore! Hooray!

Almost Perfect -
I wear a US women's 8C, do well with most MBT shoes at 39, or 8.5 women's US. This shoe is a bit too snug at 39 2/3 or a US women's 9. Looks great though and well made.

I Love These Shoes!
These shoes have changed my capacity for walking, as my feet were feeling crippled when I tried to go on walks for longer than 5+ miles. Now, I feel like I'm walking on air! I usually wear a size 5 1/2 in walking shoes, but had to get a size 6 (35 2/3) in my MBTs. Not only are they the most comfortable shoe I ever wore, but they are great looking too! I wear them and my light blue MBT sandals everywhere. Zappos was wonderful as usual, and I received my shoes in one day!

Great shoes -
I have a non-union fracture of a sesamoid bone (foot) and was recommended to get these shoes by my orthopedic Dr. As I started wearing these shoes, besides comfort and reduction of pain; I am now getting tons of compliments. They look really cool. In addition, since they don't have a flat surface on the sole, one wearing them constantly needs to balance. Now I am getting exercise while walking.

This shoe has changed my life!
This shoe has changed my life. I have fairly severe arthritis and have experienced increasing pain when walking. This shoe completely relieved the pain and now my family can't keep up with me! It does run VERY small, so order a full size to 1-1/2 sizes larger than your normal size.

Help with degenerative arthritis in the toe -
I purchased these and another pair of MBTs on advice from my podiatrist. I am on my feet all day and they have allowed me to work in comfort. I highly recommend these if you have pain in your toe joints. The rocking motion keeps my joints from flexing and alleviates the pain I was experiencing with every other shoe. They are expensive but for me worth the cost. I took advice from other reviews and got a half size larger. It fit, but not much room.

I had to get a 10 1/2 when I normally always wear a 9, so they do run small. They are very different. You are supposed to start with only a half hour and work up. They do work your muscles. Too soon I wore them for too long and got a real work out. Nothing was sore but I could feel how I used different muscles differently than normal. I think they are a great help to my lower back and upper back and neck problems. I had wanted to wear them walking my dogs in the woods, but I am not sure I will ever try it because I am not sure I will be stable enough on the stones, twigs, sticks etc. Of course Zappos.com was great. No shipping and next day service, I'm talking less than 24 hours!!

Worth the money... I love these shoes... I wear them every day at a very physical job; I’m on my feet at least 7 hours a day... My body feels and looks great... My back and hips no longer leave me crippled in pain. Awesome shoes. These shoes do run a half size small.

Posture gets better -
I have heard so much about this shoe technology that I had to try it out. I was suffering from sciatic pain and low back pain. I put these shoes on, and basically did not take them off. There is some getting used to walking in these shoes, but once you get the hang of it, it really does wonders. My sciatica pain is gone and my low back pain has improved a lot. I have noticed also that my posture is much better. I recommend this shoe to everyone. Great color goes with everything.
