Zappos was great with the free shipping. I have found climbing shoes are hard to fit with regular sizes. I went up to a 7.5 from my street size 7 and these shoes have been perfect. I've been climbing in them for a month now and they have broken in well. Not the most aggressive shoe but perfect for the climbing gym, and provide a comfortable fit. Would be great for the 1st time climber, (And stylish too!). Was worried about the white but its more of a light grey and hasn't been an issue.

Love the shoes, but they run very small -
These are great shoes, they look great and climb great (caveat, I am a beginner and climb mostly at my local climbing gym). They come very small. I was ready to buy them tight, but I was warned by the terrific folks at Zappos that I should start at my shoe size in these. I ended up going one full size up. The leather will stretch and that's good, they are still tight one size up, but I was told not to count on the rubber stretching, so my aim was to be able to put these on without having to fold in my toes, and without hotspots caused by creases in my feet.
You'll love the shoes, but don't assume you need to go smaller than your street size. Even if you want to be extreme about tight climbing shoes, you will get that starting with your street size. I also love that these are cut a little lower than the men's shoes. A pair of moccasins I had tried cut right into my Achilles tendon. These do not, they are nice and low.

 | | You're pretty awesome. Let me count the ways: 1. You make it easy for me to find great shoes. That should be enough. BUT I SOLDIER ON. 2. Pretty darn good website. There are lil' bugs here and there (sometimes narrowing a search doesn't totally work, but for the most part it does), but comparing you folks to some other nightmarish sites I've used, especially with the sheer amount of product you have for me to see...well done. 3. Convenience. HOLY CONVENIENCE, BATMAN! Much like Ian McKaye of the band Fugazi, I am a patient boy, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait. But when I order from you I don't have to. I've had shoes get to me so fast I actually thought there must have been a mistake because it got to me TOO quickly. Guys, that is some serious service. This is why I buy shoes exclusively from you. 4. Customer Service. I had a store credit recently, but like an idiot, I deleted the email with the credit code. I called up and talked to a totally friendly, funny, helpful guy. He said he'd take care of emailing me the code and all would be right with the world. OH NOES! The email, actually never showed up. So I called back and spoke with a totally friendly, funny, helpful girl (with a completely pretty voice, I'll be honest) and she got me a coupon code while I was on the phone (THAT'S good turnaround) and explained that there were the dreaded *technical difficulties* and the other dude didn't actually screw up. Guys, I've never talked to a company on the phone and ended with such a good feeling. I have friends that I don't enjoy talking to on the phone that much. Close friends. Is it ok if I just call to talk sometime? I'm kidding. Maybe. 5. You ALL seem to have a sense of humor. You guys are frakkin' funny! Your email, any of the dig deeper sort of stuff (blogs, joke of the day, etc.). That is beyond refreshing, thank you so much :) Honestly, as long as you guys are around, you got my bidness. Rock over London, rock on Chicago. | | ~ Zachary S., November 07 2009
