My boyfriend loved his early Christmas present. All of my relatives and relations have Uggs from me, and Keens, and now soon to be Sanuks! I am into great comfort and quality and no socks. I hate the pesky things. I will go the whole winter without socks! Anyway, he wears them to work and to play; he loves them enough to wear them around the house like slippers. Men look great with only Uggs on.

These boots can be for Men or Women. If you are looking for a substitute for the wonderful Brooks short that I can no longer find this men's Wrangell boot is very similar. The vibram sole is a bit thicker, and I actually find it more comfortable to walk with it. The sole is configured with a slight "rocker", which helps these boots to move with a bit more ease than the Brooks did. Since these are a new style in the men's boot line you may want to read reviews on the Brooks Tall for women which are being made again, and the only difference is the better vibram sole on these and height of the boot. Some women complain of the clunky look of these boots, so be assured men that they are not "feminine" looking at all. I owned the short Brooks women's boot in size 10 and found the 8.5 size in Wrangell men fit me about the same. They are just a tad bigger, but I put a extra neoprene insole in under the fleece insole to take up the slack. I was reading reviews of the Brooks tall and people say that boots of the same size vary in fit, so if at first the size seems just a bit off, with Zappos' return policy you may want to try again. I normally wear size 10.5 women's.The insoles of the Wrangell are replaceable. Beware: some of the new Uggs do not have replaceable insoles, a shame or a sham. I change my insoles at least once a year to make my boots feel like new again. I choose these because I wanted a smooth leather outer shell. They are easier to keep looking nice and retain their shape better than other Uggs I have had. There is also more overall support, though not much extra arch support. The leather may not be top top quality as the top of the toes got a bit scuffed after 2 years of wearing them a couple days a week and I have not been able to polish them out. There may be a trick that I don't know about. These boots fully encase your foot in the fleece. My feet get cold easily so they are perfect for me. I do outdoor shows and when other artist's feet are unbearably cold, I am perfectly snug. I have been wearing Uggs and Uggs type boots for 15 years and these are by far the best. This is the first style of Uggs that I don't wear socks with. I love the feel of them. They have never gotten smelly, though I always make sure my feet are clean before putting them on and if I do get a bit sweaty in them I make sure to take the insole out to air. I do not have particularly smelly feet to begin with. One last thing especially for bare footer's: The new Uggs insoles come with a label on the heel of the insole (insanity for comfort). I got out the seam ripper and took them off pretty easily and they are much more comfortable.
