The original Docksides shoe. I've worn this same model shoe nearly every day since 1977. They wear like iron. My wife demands I get rid of them when they are getting nice and comfortable (she says "worn looking"), about every 8-10 months, even though they've got lots of life left. I've tried others, including the ones from Sperry, and they're all just bad copies. Unlike many poseurs who wear boating shoes, I actually do have a big boat, and actually do wear these shoes on it, and do get them wet. By "wet", I mean that I walk through knee deep water in them, I wash my car in them, I don't care about puddles.

Laces don\'t come crossed like in the pic, but you can do it on your own with a little practice, and will look much better than tied. Durable leather, rigid. May take a few years to break these in to that really worn-in look, which I personally like.

Very good looking shoes. Took a few wears to break them in. Only real problem I had was wearing them walking several miles; I did pick up a blister but that was my own stupidity.

Sebago has faithfully served me all through college AND law school. During college, I purchased both my first pair of penny loafers and docksides. Excellent support, well made, and long lasting. I walked on top of snow and ice all my college years and my feet always stayed dry and warm. During law school, I was able to get my first pair of Sebago loafers with the tassel. They were more stylish than the classic penny loafer. I enjoyed wearing them with my suits. For everyday wear, I purchased a pair of loafers with the kiltie and rubber sole. Again, these rubber sole Sebago's kept my feet both dry and warm all winter. The "other" famous brand of docksides are simply not made to be worn in the city streets. They are made strictly for sailing to prevent scratching the surface of boats.

As good as ever -
I owned a pair of Docksides in the past and really liked them then. Since I needed a new pair of really casual (but still classy), I decided to the latest ones a try. I'm glad I did. Especially finding them in the large size that I now need (15 EE). I would recommend Sebago to anyone, and you can't beat the price!

The best boat shoe ever -
The Sebago Dockside is without a doubt the best boat shoe ever made and the only ones I'll buy. In an age when shoes are typically over-engineered, the Sebago is exactly what I want in a shoe: simple, sturdy construction and a smooth leather footbed that works with or without socks. This has been my everyday shoe year-round since I discovered them way back in the 70's, and they haven't changed a bit since then.

SEBAGO DOCKSIDES -
I have owned this shoe in the past (many years ago). Have owned numerous other brands of boat shoes through the years. These shoes will outlast the competition. They take a while to break in but over time they conform naturally to your feet. Once broken in, this is a boat shoe thats hard to beat. Would buy another pair without hesitation. They're worth it in the long run.

Great shoes!
These shoes were easy to break in, and size matched up with my feet. I wear them all the time. When these wear out, I'll order another pair just like them (but so far they are holding up quite well).

The BEST Boat Shoe!!
I've owned these shoes for years and they are the best! They conform to the shape of your foot and last forever. I soak them in warm water and wear them with socks a couple times and they're mine forever. After that, saddle soap and wax keep them supple and perfect to wear to the beach or boardroom...

BEST SHOES -
The Sebago Docksides are perfect. The size, width and fit are right on. I wear them with thick-soled dress socks and the Docksides feel great right out of the box. Especially with the padded inner sole. My last pair were the best moccasins I'd ever worn, even re-soled them and they're still walking after 12 years of wear.

Delighted with my Sebago Docksides -
I have been looking for several years to replace my Docksides which I purchased over 15 years ago. My daughter told me to try Zappos, and to my delight it paid off. The Docksides are the best made, best looking, and best wearing boat shoe I have ever encountered, because they have a full, not split, last; they retain their shape and truly improve with age. I hope Sebago never stops making the Docksides.

Continued satisfaction with Sebago Docksides -
I purchased my first pair of these shoes almost 25 years ago! For leisure, comfort, and durability they are tops. It seems as though it is impossible to totally wear them out. I even went swimming in the ocean with them on (I'm a little squeamish about what I might step on--ha).
I now have 3 pairs of them, still wearing the first ones to cut grass in. It's just a great shoe, what else can I say? OH YES---The only thing greater than the shoe itself is buying it from ZAPPOS!!

The perfect boat and casual shoe -
Wear with shorts or jeans, even khakis. The perfect summer shoe when flip flops just won't cut it. I go barefoot in mine but socks look fine with jeans or khakis.

Gotta Have Docksides-
OK, I know this shoe is a style that has been around a long time. Although not exciting it is timeless. This shoe takes about three days to break in and then its solid comfort for the life of the shoe. Recently, at Disney, I was told wear sneakers or you'll get blisters etc from all the walking. Nope, Broken in Docksides without socks worked just fine! You can look at the Sperry Topsiders, they started the craze about 30 plus years ago but they are heavier and just don’t fit me as well. One more thing, I have been buying these for years and once you find your fit, (not easy for me at 14Wide!) it is consistent from year to year. I never wonder how they will fit this time. Zappos had the size, shipped fast and the price was reasonable. So, you won’t be sporting the Air Jordan look but you'll be comfortable for a long time.

These are the go anywhere, anytime casual shoe. Once you have broken them in, they are like slippers.
These shoes work with shorts and men's casual ware just as well. They look great with khakis and in New England, they are wearable for three seasons.
