Keen's sizes run short and wide. This is a blessing for people with wide feet (me), but I still have to buy a full length larger. I love the product for its comfort and durability, especially the Madrid Mary Jane style which is made of a flexible fabric allowing the foot to swell a bit in the summer and accommodate foot irregularities like bunions. The one negative for this style is that for the first month or so, it smells of rubber tires. Oh well, anything for comfort.

This shoe gives new meaning to "classy!" It looks great with jeans, with casual slacks, and sweats. It is comfortable, and fits wonderful. It is like you have been wearing it forever. It is a great shoe for all ages from teenager to mature adult!

Love them, most comfortable shoe ever! Put them on and off I went for hours: no sore spots, blisters, etc. Will buy another pair to be sure I always have one to wear.

This shoe is a cute as it looks in the picture. Every time I wear them, I get compliments and "Oh where did you get those?!" questions. However, as mentioned by a past reviewer, the smell is extremely repugnant! I have several pairs of Keens, and most of them don't smell badly at all. The most accurate description I can give is of rubbery bandaids. At best, new bandaids, after a long time of wear, old bandaids. They do wash easily in the washer, and dry without water marks, but the smell never goes away (if you wash them, you'll just get them back to new rubbery bandaid smell). Honestly, if you wiggle your toes, the rubber/bandaid smell wafts upwards. As far as comfort, they're okay for walking short distances and having a job where you may stand often. Yet, unlike some other Keens I've had, these don't perform well if you are walking more than a mile in them. I got big blisters from walking three or four miles in them one evening. As a side note, while they look great with pants, I think they slightly resemble house slippers when you wear them with skirts, shorts, or capris (but this could just be me).

I have plantar fasciitis which makes it very painful to walk at times, but I need to walk and I also often walk wearing a 25 lb baby on my back. I need comfortable shoes. Having had a good experience with my Keen flip flops last year, but needing something without the flip and a bit more feminine, I chose these. Love them! They are so supportive and comfortable. Nothing is perfect all the time with my foot problem, but these came pretty close. And they are so pretty. Got tons of compliments on them as well. Can't say enough good things about them. Wore them virtually non-stop this spring and summer and they still look great. I have the maroon pair and they are so pretty, my friend has a pair in the golden color which are also very nice. If I had the money I would get a that color as well, maybe next year. I only have two minor complaints. They get that typical Keen funk that so many Keens get. The stinky Keen phenomenon. While they have held up well, I am a bit nervous to wash them other than by hand, which doesn't do much good. On the plus side, the stink doesn't seem to transfer to my feet. The low part of the foot is so low that it can allow small rocks and stuff to get in. This was more of a problem when I first got them than when I got used to walking in them. Overall, these are great shoes. Easily the most attractive and feminine comfy shoes I have ever owned. I just bought a pair of Emily shoes for fall hoping for more of the same. Love Keens.

These are extremely cute shoes. I love the colors, and will probably purchase another pair in red. They do run a bit large and don't have much arch support, so I now wear my green pair with a gel insert, and that takes care of the problem. It is wonderful to find interesting, comfortable, non-leather shoes that I can afford! Thank you, Zappos!

Comfortable, lightweight, easy to put on. I have a narrow foot which usually causes lots of extra strap to hang, but the strap makes it possible to twist it a few times before velcro-ing. A nice snug fit across the arch. I would buy other colors, if not for one thing. Like one other reviewer, the only difficulty I have with these shoes is the horrible rubbery smell. I have to keep them in the garage to air out all the time when not wearing them. Sad because I would wear them more, if not for the smell. No matter what fragrance I have on, all I can smell is rubber. I plan to wash them in vinegar water and see if that helps. At this point, even the vinegar smell would be better.

Two letters - P U! I purchased these shoes for my daughter and myself. We thought they were cute. The fit is true to size. However, they have the most awful smell about them-straight out of the box. It\'s a rubber type smell simply nauseating. Ithought the smell would wear off but it gets considerably worse as you wear them. They seem like the type of shoe that you can wear without socks but don\'t try it. Both my daughter and I had the same problem with the horrible odor. The smell actually permeated through the house. I will not buy this brand of shoe again. A considerable waste of money :( and big disappointment!

These shoes are great. I have bunions and other issues and these Keens are extremely comfortable for all day wear. Fit is true to size. This is my 2nd pair and am ordering another.

I love this shoe. I was looking for a comfortable walking shoe that wasn´t a "walking shoe." I´m abroad in Latin America for a semester and I can wear this anywhere, it´s so cute and comfortable. And, while walking through dusty ruins they don´t turn brown! I have them in green, and I was worried they´d look dingy after a few weeks. They clean up well though. My only complaint is that my foot is a little narrower than most, and if there were any less Velcro for this strap, it wouldn´t stay on my foot. Over all, a fantastic purchase. I never thought I´d love a shoe more than my Chacos.

The shoe is so comfortable from the moment I put it on. It makes me feel like I'm wearing ballet slippers except for the black toe (my husband says they look like a blacktop). They are unusual and very few stores carry them. I am not a Mary Jane type of girl but these were different and I like different.

I like the look of these shoes and I wear them often. Even though they have little arch support, they are comfortable as long as I wear them with "peds", otherwise my feet feel a bit clammy. I use very low cut black ped so they are just barely visible on the side, but it’s ok because they look like they are part of the shoe. I have several pairs of Keens and usually wear custom orthotics, but can’t wear them with these Keens, mostly because the orthotics are white plastic and would show too much. So I don’t wear them for more than one day at a time, and so far so good. I do not have any problem with the strap being too long, as a few reviewers have mentioned, because I have a high arch and instep.

Isn’t this just the cutest thing ya ever saw? Not only do you get superb comfort, but the looks are stunning! Pretty colors, sweet shoe. If you buy Keens, you know to buy a half size larger than you usually wear.

I like these shoes, but they do have a toxic smell though. The grey and the orange both look nice. Very comfy and would rate it 5 stars if not for the toxic smell.

I love these shoes for style and comfort! I love wearing them often! However, like others have mentioned, I do not understand the odor! I actually keep these shoes outside on the front porch when I’m not wearing them, in hopes that the odor will diminish over time. Am rating it 4 overall just due to the odor, otherwise it’s a clear 5!

I've been wearing Keene shoes for several years. These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Only problem is strap is too long. Because I was a tailor at one time I was able to alter it. Any tailor or shoemaker can fix it. Without that, I would not have been able to wear the shoe.

I love, love, love keens and was quickly drawn to this style. These shoes are support cute, very light, and sturdy. The HUGE downside is that they are NOT BREATHABLE at all. The result...sweaty, stinky feet. Wear with caution. I do not have particularly sweaty feet and have found these to be problematic.

Very cute and comfy shoe. Really have to say this is a departure for Keens (at least the cute part!). They are adorable on your feet and feel like you're wearing slippers. Don't be looking for Keen's typical arch support though, because the soles are flat. I would question whether or not a removable insole would work, because of the way the sides are cut (it would show), but worth trying for the cute factor at least. I want to buy another color (love the green I purchased), but will have to save my $$! Zappos, you're the best on the web (and elsewhere) for customer service, as usual.

Great washable shoe - soft!!
Replacing open toe shoes with closed one - foot surgery and Zappos was there for me with assistance as well as an easy return policy. I ordered these in Brindle - sort of a neutral brown/grey type color. These are a step up from tennis/sport shoes and I wear them to teach high school - on my feet all day long. Keen brand, among others, was recommended by a Zappos sales person. I was pleased with this show and have added a number of Keen shoes to my favorite list. These shoes look great with jeans, crops, pants, skirts, and even spring/summer dresses. And thanks to Zappos I can shop with confidence. I'm a proud Zappos VIP customer.

These Keens are super cute. They look great with shorts and capris. They are pretty comfortable although they don’t provide much arch support. I wouldn’t wear them for very long walks or a full day of sightseeing, but they are okay for shorter walks or running errands. I am glad I got them!

Thank you to Zappos for another show of great service. To Keen, the smell of this shoe! It smells like you are wearing a body suit of band aids all day. The more your feet heat up the more noticeable the smell of the shoe. The pair I received also had a drop of glue stain on the top of the right shoe! I really thought about sending them back considering the cost of the shoe (and with a stain)? But, I kept them and rubbed the stain with a wet rag. Came off a little but I still know it's there even if no one else notices. On a positive, the shoe is extremely comfortable and cute. It's like wearing your house shoes to work. Just without the fuzzies. Oh, definitely buy a half size smaller than you normally wear!!!
