Vermont lady –
This boot is what a boot should be. I have worn them on my motorcycle, hiking, walking my dog, with Levi’s, and even to a party with a long skirt. These boots are the perfect all around look for my life. A little snug in the beginning, I thought I was going to have to wear them with a thin sock. However, I graduated sock thickness every few days and now find that I can wear a medium thick wool sock. Warm, comfortable, waterproof, and perfect for my Vermont lifestyle. Thank you.

Finally! These shoes fit my daughter's size 9 feet! She tried numerous pairs for volleyball, but none of them fit right. She loved these the moment she put them on.

Very excellent boots -
To start with the boots were a bit tight across my high instep, but they are breaking in very nicely. I can now wear them all day with no problems. I like the traction and the looks. I have worn them on the motorcycle and to court. Thanks to Zappos for a great boot and great service.

Fantastic boot. Best you can buy.
I wear boots every day, all year long, and for walking, work, and riding motorcycles this boot is absolutely perfect. I have owned 3 other pairs of Docs, and this is by far the most comfortable. It takes about two days to break these in, but it is a very easy two days compared to other boots I have owned. The leather is thick and sturdy, and the boot is so comfortable a fit I didn't even need to put additional insoles in them. I ordered one size smaller than I usually wear, since Docs run large, and they fit perfectly. Hands down a great product and Docs last forever.

Best Boots Ever!
I bought these boots for my husband. He is very picky about boots and only wears the step in kind as opposed to the lace up. The last pair he bought lasted about 8 months, that should tell you how rough he is on boots. He works on the pipeline, so he has to have a good boot. I saw these on Zappos and told him he should try them because of the ankle support that is built into it, in addition to the fact that I have always heard good things about Dr. Martens. He LOVES these boots, said they were the best pair he has ever worn, just like wearing a pair of tennis shoes. Comfortable and lightweight, durable and tough. Do not hesitate to buy these boots, they are worth every penny spent and you will not be sorry. You can't lose by purchasing them here either, we ordered at 6pm one day and they were here at 2pm the next with no extra shipping charges! You can't beat that for service!

Best boots ever!
I would like to start by thanking Zappos.com! You guys ROCK! These are the most comfortable boots right from the start!!! If they hold up like the other Docs I've had, then I will enjoy these for many years to come! I am thinkin' about buying another pair for when I finally do wear these out! Tight Squeeze -
This boot is tricky to get on. I needed the old bread bag trick to get into them. Once they're on, they are all day comfortable. I'm hoping they get easier to get into the more I wear them.

Gotta love those Doc's -
These boots were excellent, exactly what i have been looking for. They give you that rugged cowboy boot look but feel like a tennis shoe. The people at Zappos were amazing as well, quick service and delivery, can't say enough good things about them.

Zappos! Great service! Highly recommended! Always fast! Awesome!
I have worn these boots almost every day since I bought them and they are awesome. I am an outdoorsman and these boots are the toughest boots I've ever had. I can walk in them all day without any sign of discomfort. I would recommend them to anyone with feet!

My new favorite boots -
These are a dream come true. Motorcycle/cowboy/work boots. They are so soft and comfortable, no break-in time at all. They feel like they will last forever like all Dr. Martins - I still wear a pair from 1988. They are forever in style and practically indestructible.

Would love to wear these EVERYDAY -
I love these boots and get compliments each time I wear them. Love the fact that they are Dr. Marten's without being lace up. The padding around the ankles is wonderful. I have to watch to make sure they don't disappear from my closet and wind up on my son's feet! If I can't find them, I know they are walking around the high school!

GREAT FIT BUT WENT UP A SIZE -
Great boots! If you like a little more roomy fit go up a size. I felt the tightness mostly on the top of my foot. I tend to have not a very high arch, so my feet spread out. Zappos maybe a little more expensive but they have great customer service.

Good motorcycle boot -
Exactly what I needed in a new motorcycle boot, thick oil resistant soles with good grip, extra ankle padding, flexible enough so no need to break-in. Very comfortable for all day wear but suitable for riding. Although I usually wear a wide, the medium width fits just fine.

Good motorcycle boot but too small and no half-sizes -
Even though made in China, the British design entails good quality leather but tight fit - I guess the Brits are a flat-footed lot. With a high instep I was in agony for the first week I wore the boots. Now that they are "broken in," my toes touch the ends of the boots which is a bit annoying (I typically have a size 9 wide foot with a high instep).
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: I would try one of the half shoes with a zipper. I could barely get this boot over my instep the first week.

Great Boots -
I got the 2296s for motorcycle riding - even though they are in the "work" boot category. Very comfortable right out of the box. Length and width seemed correct (UK 10 - US 11) and the oil resistant, non-slip soles should work great for riding. The were a little snug through the arch area - so if you have a high arch/instep ... make sure you try them on at home AFTER a full day of work or being on your feet for a while --- your want your foot at its largest size. The leather should stretch a little with wear ... when they do --- these boots will fit like a glove!
