I was very intrigued with the idea of integrating springs in the sole of shoes; makes a lot of sense to me as an engineer. I was willing to spend the extra money too. When I received this product it looked kind of cheap; the design (not that it is really important) is printed on the side mesh of the shoe. When I tried the shoe on I was disappointed by the lack of support the shoe gives laterally, it felt as if the sole does not come up on the side of the shoe enough. The shoe looks cheaply made, certainly not worth the price, the sole is one piece of foam. Overall it looks to me that the company had a great idea, but stopped right after that. I would not recommend this product.

Excellent racing flat. Wide, roomy toe box. Very, very lightweight. Would suggest as a running shoe only. I don't train in these. Seem best for neutral runners with limited or no pronation.

Comfortable but...
I am a dog walker. I walk many hours and miles a day and I have plantar fasciitis. Right out of the box I wore these shoes for an hour walk. Stylish and comfortable but within 10 min I stepped on a small stone and my foot went out. No lateral support, no reflective tape on the shoe for night walking. Feels more like a "water shoe" than a running shoe with little arch support and over priced!

Stinger Home run!
After running my first marathon in 15yrs, I had messed up my body alignment and plantar fasciitis pretty bad. I heard about these shoes through a medical store. I went to Zappos and they were great! Delivered them the very next day for being a new customer. They took care of my issues, feel like I am running on a cloud and I have improved my times. Thank you Zappos for your excellent Customer Service and prompt shipment. I will definitely be buying more Stingers from you!

A REAL LOOKER AND REALLY LIGHT!
This is one of the greatest looking sports shoes I've ever had plus the lightest (makes a difference!) I did have one problem that caused me to return my shoes for replacements: a hole wore in the top where toes pressed against it while walking (although the shoes were the right size) and I thought just that pair might be defective.
So I exchanged them for another identical pair, hoping for the best. I've been wearing them hard, walking on dirt roads, etc. and so far (a couple of weeks) so good.
The mesh, for the price, should stand up to wear.
Otherwise this is one of the best looking, most comfortable shoe I've ever had.

First Spira Disappointment in 5 years -
This is the only pair of Spira shoes I've owned in the past 5 years that is not comfortable. The uppers are more flexible and less padded than other styles. When the shoes are laced up, the tongue doesn't offer enough padding in the area around the front of the ankle. It feels like the collar of the shoe is cutting into the foot even when tied loosely.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Spira with leather uppers.

Red Hot!
I bought my first pair of Spira Stinger's last year--they were bumblebee yellow and black. I used them for work shoes, on my feet 9 hours or more a day, carrying up to 70# loads. I'm 5'6", 135#, with extreme arthritis in my hips, back and feet. These are the lightest, most comfortable shoe I have ever had on! I used to change shoes and socks every 2-3 hours to rotate areas of pain. With these shoes, I can wear them with or without socks ALL day and never have pain from walking! I have tried many, but will continue to buy these no matter what color they are!
Other brands recommended by reviewer: another pair of them

 | | Thank you very much... I just went to the door and there were my beautiful new blue slides. I can't believe I received them less than 24 hours after I ordered them. Service, service, service. Your people know what is the most important thing to do to bring customers back time after time after time. You can have an excellent product, but if the customer doesn't feel important, it makes no difference what one is selling. Too bad more people in the business world don't apply
