I love these, especially the smoke color! I think that they may run a little large though because I had to add a thick insole to get the fit right.

I purchased these boots in white and will wear them through the winter as now is accepted. Will go back for the red now that I have fallen in love with this Frye Carson boot. This is absolutely one of the best buys from Frye that I have made. I love the softness and quality of this great boot.

Theses boots have great style. I got them in red. The red is a lighter shade of red with a hint of pink tones. The leather is supple and soft but looks like it will hold its shape. They are well made. \r\nI have gotten many compliments on them. \r\nAs for comfort; I wouldn\'t say these fall into the comfort shoe category but I can wear them all day. There is modest arch support but I put an orthotic in it and the shoe accomodates it well. \r\n

I just received my Frye boots yesterday. I ordered the burnt red and they are awesome! The fit is perfect. I normally wear a 7 or 7.5 and the 7 fit just right. The color is to die for! It's a perfect neutral red! I can see me wearing these boots forever!

After trying on literally 24 pairs of Frye boots (my UPS guy hates me and my Zappos habit!) I decided on these. They are a soft, beautiful leather yet have enough body to stand up, and the Smoke color is dynamite with everything! My feet are on the wide side and my normal size, 9, was perfect. My second choice was the Billy Pull on and I'll probably go back for those next. Most of the other styles I tried were too narrow for me. The toe box is a little more visible in this boot but I didn't think it was that much of an issue.

I got these in smoke. I think 'bark' would be a more appropriate color name as the color is more brown than grey. Anywho, they are super comfy, maybe slightly on the larger side if you don't wear a thick sock. And they looked cute as hell with my skinnies tucked in. I would say if you had muscular/extra thick calves, there wouldn't be room for tucking jeans in.

All I can say is, Wow! This is one super boot. I have a pair of Frye harness boots and, although I like the rugged look of them, I would say the comfort level is okay at best because the leather is really thick and stiff. The leather on these is super duper soft, really like butter, but they seem to stay up on my leg despite this and even if they slouch just a smidge it still looks nice and relaxed. They slip off easily, my heel doesn't lift and the cushioned footbed feels great. They feel broken in right away. The toe is not too round and not too pointy, and the heel is also not super low and not too high, just gives a bit of height which is perfect. Got the smoke color and it is gorgeous. Looks rich brown with darker shading that gives it that nice, lived-in shade without looking to much like "manufactured shading". These will go with everything. They are pricey, but you get what you pay for in comfort, quality and style.

Wow, Zappos' shipping is amazing. I ordered these on a Wednesday afternoon and got them on Thursday! I really want to love these boots, but I have to face facts that I'm just not a cowboy boot person. Otherwise, these boots felt really comfortable. The leather is soft, but I don't think it slides down my legs. It's pretty true to size; I vary between 5.5 and 6.5, and the size 6 in the Carson Boot fits perfectly. I'm going to return them because I don't think it's a style I'll wear regularly; but I'm determined to find a pair of Frye boots on Zappos because of the comfort and quality.

Great looking boot, I ordered this boot because it looked great and the reviews were wonderful as to comfort. I returned them because I was very disappointed due to the lack of body the leg leathers had. There is absolutely NO body to the leather on the leg, and over time they will slide down the leg. The leather is way too buttery for a leg boot. They ran large too, so I returned them; disappointed. They are also made in Mexico, so I assume that Frye is not American made anymore. Too bad!

I received my Frye boots by overnight delivery for free! I love these boots! The leather is so soft and they fit so comfortably. I did not even have to "break them in". I have narrow feet, so I added a foot pad to take up some of the space, but the heel cups me perfectly, so no slippage. I also have thin calves and they are not snug, but they don't hang open and loose like other brands. These are going to be my new favorite boots!

I just got these boots today, AWESOME! I got the natural color and they are so cool. I think they are just neutral enough to wear with black or brown. The leather is sooo soft! Thank you Zappos!

YIPPEE KAI-YAY!
I have been a Frye lover for almost 20 yrs & I'm still in my 30s. I still own my Original Harness boots (they were made with Vibram soles at the time which I miss), but when I had my first child, my feet sadly grew so will be saying goodbye to my beloved boots. SO... looking for a replacement, I made the monetary leap and ordered these on a whim since the Harness boots being made now just aren't fitting right. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Carson. I found them true to size (9), but I do wear them with heavier athletic socks. Extremely comfortable... I could go on for days. The only reason they haven't walked out my door on my feet is the cost (oh if they only were in the same price range as the Harness) and I can't decide what color. I got the Blue which is beautiful! But there are 4 other colors I know I would also love! (If they were cheaper, I would get a couple colors!) Hey, I had to give up over half of my shoes/boots when my feet changed... sigh... I know I'll be keeping them... in some variation. Of course, Zappos is my new religion! They are wonderful!

I have to contribute to the praise of these gorgeous boots. I was watching them for about six months - hoping they’d go down in price. Now I understand why they haven’t… they’ve instantly become my favorite boot and are worth the price. I just moved to a city where I’m walking a lot and it seems like Frye are the only boots I can wear all day long, without pain. I’m considering ordering other colors just because I have a feeling I’ll be wearing these a lot. If you’re thinking about buying these, get them. You’ll be so happy you did!

I ordered these in natural and brown. The brown is not as shiny, or deep, as it appears on the website; but the natural were precisely what I wanted. These boots are magnificent! Prior to, I had tried the Harness boots and was unhappy with the fit. These boots were rated to fit well and they did. I ordered a 7, (normally wear 7.5-8) as was suggested by another reviewer, and they fit perfectly. I returned 3 Harness boots and one Carson in about 2 weeks time without any problems. Thanks Zappos!

These boots are ...awesome!! The first day I wore them they were comfortable ALL DAY--and I am on my feet running for subways and work in NYC. It was also 90 degrees and I was NOT HOT!! But I got a lot of looks as these boots are gorgeous with a skit and sox--no stockings.

This boot has officially become my default everyday boot. It is stylish, in a classic and hippie-chic way, so it goes with any sort of outfit. From skirts for that classic look, to shorts for the indie look, to dresses for the flair of it. The fit is fantastic, and I am PICKY about shoes (I have a size 11, usually...in these I am a 10... I'd suggest going down a half to a whole size) and it is often VERY hard for me to find shoes that are comfy. These took about 10 minutes to feel "broken in" enough for me to be convinced that I will wear these shoes for as long as they will last and probably buy other colors of them in the meantime. Absolutely worth the money, and I am not a rich girl that buys fancy shoes every day. These are worth it. And Zappos is an incredible company.

Glorious!!!
I got these in Jade on a whim and I am soooo thrilled with them. I ordered my usual size and they feel and look like a dream. Super soft and comfy the second I put them on. Show stopping boots! If you are on the fence-just go for it! Worth every penny. As for Zappos service-I should be used to it by now, I know, but they still thrill me. I ordered yesterday and they arrived today. Seriously-how do they do it?

Great boot that fits true to size and very comfortable. I have in 2 colors (neutrals) and always get compliments when I wear. Cannot go wrong with this boot!!!

I have the boot in smoke, which is a dark, dark brown, and I love it... very rocker chic and very comfortable, and looks good w/ skirts even though I have thin calves. Also looks good tucked into pants. I usually wear within size 7 to 8 and I purchased these in a 7 and they fit perfect. My foot does not slip when I wear these. Although the leather of the boot is not "stiff" and may appear to not have much support to hold it up (the leather is really soft) the boot stays up just fine. Has a lot of attitude and is not your typical "cowboy" style boot. Look at Free People's website for good photos of women wearing these boots so you can get a better idea of how they actually fit. Highly recommended.

My Impulse Purchase -
There is nothing bad I can say about this boot. I actually think it's the best boot I've ever worn as far as comfort right out of the box goes. Not a single blister! I am only mad at myself now for making such an inpulse purchase on the Jade pair I got because as great as they are, I don't think I'll wear them that much. They are pricey & I now see another pair of Fryes that I think I would wear a lot more - but I'll have to wait ‘til I'm done paying these suckers off! Seriously - Awesome quality & Zappos as always is the best company ever!

I ordered these boots Weds, received them Thursday, and am wearing them right now! Thanks Zappos. I have several pairs of Frye boots and shoes. (One can never have too many Fryes.) I ordered a size 9, my usual size. These boots fit great, are so soft, and comfortable. I like that they are lightweight, great for spring, and maybe even sometimes in the summer. I do commend Zappos on their excellent service.

Wow, did reorder these in my size after finding these only in men's size. Anyway the womens in my size fit wonderfully. These are really comfortable and adorable. I bought the jade and they are really beautiful. Soft supple leather and the color is light and dark, so pretty. The heel is just the right size for walking, ops I mean strutting; because in these that's what you'll be doin!! Ha! Hail to Zappos they are simply the BEST!!!!!!!
