These shoes are horrible kitchen shoes -
Great shoes for the first few weeks, then they become a horrible kitchen shoe. The little slip resistant treads that make the shoe slip proof wear off quickly making it a pair of ice skates, even on kitchen floors in a restaurant that doesn't use fryers. I've now fell twice in the last month due to poor traction in the kitchen. Plus, when the tread wears off your shoes constantly squeak as you walk. The comfort level is superior to any shoe I've ever worn in this environment, but do not try to market this as a quality kitchen shoe.

Work in supervision at warehouse store which requires 8 hrs of walking and standing on concrete. Just great comfort with these conditions. Kudos.

Was hoping it would really be as comfortable and a help for my feet during prolonged standing but it didn't meet expectation.

Extraordinary Comfort -
This is a great shoe! With my knee and sciatica nerve problems I've been looking for quite a while for a shoe that would let me get back to walking for some exercise (at 300lbs I really, really need to!). Within two days of starting to wear these babies I could - nothing else changed in my routine - just putting these on. I urge anyone in a similar situation to give them a try.

The best shoe I have ever worn. Wish I had found them years ago. I am a hairdresser for 45 years and never wore good shoes and now am paying the price. These are the only shoes I can wear with my orthotics. They are great. Thanks.

This shoe is not as true a fit as New Balance. It feels a little narrower than other EE size. Good ball of foot support.

Spira Classic -
THE SOLE SEEMS SOFTER THAN NORMAL AND IS WEARING FASTER THAN A HARDER SOLE. I also feel like the heel is lower and I am tilted back more than normal. I like the shoe for softness but it is not a shoe I would order again and it is way overpriced. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I would give this shoe a 4.

Put a "Spring" in your step -
My husband decided to go back to work (at age 64!). He took a job lifting 40 lb crates and walking on a concrete floor. Needless to say, his feet hurt. After I got these shoes for him, his feet no longer hurt and even his ankles no longer swell. Great shoes.

I work as a courier, getting in and out of the truck with constant pressure on my feet & knees. These shoes are great, my knees don't hurt anymore. I highly recommend them.

If you walk these are the best -
I work security and walk 16 miles in an 8 hr the time period this is on a cement floor I have been wearing this product for the past 2 years my feet feel great and at 64 years old that saying a lot.

Very helpful for my knees -
I bought these shoes before a trip to China where I wore them every day for two weeks and walked a couple hundred miles on concrete. It was the first time in many years I have not had to take anti-inflammatory medicine for my knees when walking on concrete. I will be wearing Spiras for walking on hard surfaces from now on.

A blessing for my feet -
I spend my work days walking around a hospital, hard floors! I have arthritis in my toes and have used a custom made orthotic insert for several years. With these shoes my toes are happy and I have not needed to use the Rx orthotic.
My feet, knees and hips are noticeably happier at the end of the day than with other (more expensive) walking shoes I have tried. The soles are a bit thick and clunky looking, but the comfort is more than worth the fashion compromise.

For a diabetic like me who also has periodic gout problems these shoes have been a godsend. This is my second pair (the others are white) and I have tried many other brands that do not compare to these.

A very comfortable shoe. Perhaps as I wear orthotic inserts I had to return the size 9 and order a 9.5. Zappos free overnight shipping made this very easy, even delivering to a hotel that I happen to be at for 2 weeks.

Love There Shoes!
I have a bad Right knee which should have been replaced last year. Due to that, also some nerve damage to my left foot. These Spiras are better than the Z-Coil boots! I leave the boots @ home & wear these to work daily. I spend most work days on concrete floors and the Spira allows me less fatigue & MUCH less pain at days' end. As soon as they get the new loafers in my size & color, they'll be sending my second pair! Just remember these shoes are LEATHER & will form to your foot in a few days. I ordered mine a size larger so I can put in padded insoles for more protection. This made them tight at first, but within 3 days I was perfectly comfortable, as with most leather shoes. These are the BEST!!

Plantar Fasciitis relief!
Reading the testimonials helped me to order the right size, I did order these shoes a half size larger. After wearing the shoes for 3 days, it has helped my plantar fasciitis pain tremendously. As far as the looks, no worse than any other athletic style walking shoe. Looks a lot like my old Reebok DMX, but much more comfortable with the cushioning of the springs.

Better than I expected -
This is my first pair of Spira shoes and I must say they really do feel comfortable when standing or walking. I have other shoes which claim to provide extra cushioning in the heel but these really do it. You can feel the spring action. It's not so much as to be bothersome -- just enough. I was beginning to think there were no comfortable shoes but I was wrong. I agree with some of the other reviews that the shoes run small but this seems to be common for today's athletic styles.

Whoa! These shoes are small!
These shoes are not sized right! Especially the right foot. Knowing I'd want to wear these shoes with thick socks, I ordered a half size larger just to be on the safe side, but no go. The left shoe is OK, but the right shoe is squishing my toes together. Small footbed. Looks like it would be roomy, but all that space is taken up by the super thick tongue and the ultra thick soles. I wear a wide and ordered a wide. Be careful if you order these.

I like the shoes when they are new. They are very comfortable. I bought at least 30 pair in the past 5 years, but I think they wear out to soon for the price that I'm paying.

I personally find the Spira Classic shoe good for me although for the amount of money that is charged for them, the support in the shoe should last longer than 2 1/2 - 3 months.

Walking again -
I have 3 pair of these shoes. One for beating up, one for nice, and one I put leather soles on for dancing. These shoes are a God-send for me because the steal plates and gentle "roll off" the toes enable my broken, joint messed up, arthritic toes to be given relief. I must wear custom orthotics which helps a lot. But now I can walk faster, farther than any of the countless shoes I have tried. I am 42 and dance competitively so now I can dance all night without pain or living on pain pills. The only problem I have found is that the shoe sizes are not consistent. I don’t understand that, the shoe "last" should create identical shoes. At least Zappos will return anything free. They arrived overnight as promised. I will buy more as these wear out.

What the doctor ordered -
My husband stands on cement flooring for 43 years at his job. His ankles and knees are very painful. Last visit to ankle doctor he said my husband needed to wear a shoe with more support and cushioning. My daughter swears by this shoe; we could not buy it in our area so I ordered them on line.
When we received them they felt a little tight but the plain style was what he liked. So we decided to keep them and now he wears them ever day to work. He said they do make a difference.
So we are happy with the shoe.
Oh, buy the way he never wore sneakers all his life (61). He has to wear special make shoes because of foot problem. Thank you.

 |  | I'm not one to make a big deal about good service as I just expect it. However, my latest experience with Zappos is UNBELIEVABLE!!! My daughter was wanting these shoes for awhile so I agreed to order them. I ordered them on Wednesday 9/17 at approx 9:30pm. She was counting out the 4-5 business days for shipping and confirmed that they should be here by about next Wednesday. They showed up at my work a mere 12 hours later after an overnight flight. My co-workers didn't believe it. I texted my daughter and she didn't believe me. Absolutely AMAZING!!! "Powered by Service" ... you got that right. In contrast, I ordered a PC from an online company 8 days ago. I have nothing, no tracking number, no emails, and I have no idea where it is or even if it exists??? Very frustrating.
