I love these boots. I live in rainy Seattle, and these are very durable, attractive, and practical. Another reviewer said these were not masculine enough. I disagree. I first read about these boots in GQ magazine, then researched them. I can wear them with jeans over them, and they look basically like dress shoes. Or you can protect your pants and tuck your pant leg inside. Rain boots are not incredibly common on male business professionals (yet), so there may be some bias on their lack of masculinity. In fact, I am wearing them now with dark jeans, and a button-up shirt at the office. I have worn these boots in 3 inches of flowing water, in rocky shallows of a small river (about 6 inches of water) and my feet remained dry. There is not a lot of cushioning if you are going to be doing much walking on hard streets. I am going to go out and look for some kind of extra cushioning, and if the weather gets cold, these are not heavily insulated and your feet will get cold unless you are wearing heavy socks or a liner. I am having trouble finding the Hunter UV Tech Boot Polish in the US, and I've just sent an inquiry to Hunter in the UK, because these are amazing boots, and I would like to keep them for as long as possible. So overall, these are very comfortable, again, unless you are walking around all day or on hard surfaces for an extended period of time. And, they are very stylish, and can be worn with just about anything.

Seem well made, but NOT deep enough for people with high insteps. Took several minutes to remove each boot.

Seems like it is well made and slides off and on very well. An arched insert is appropriate to add as it helps make them feel less "roomy." However, on the downside they just do not offer enough foot support for the walking necessary in NYC. Though the front and middle part of the foot is snug, the heel rises up loosely with each step (due to a lack of ankle support), and after time I'm afraid the friction will cause major discomfort. I am switching to the Hunter "Original Lace" model and will write a review once I receive them. The laces should give the bottom of the boot more support. These Festivals are also not "masculine" enough for my tastes when seen in person.

When purchasing Wellies it is well! worth it to spring for the originals. They are simply the best! They are the only option for mucking about in the rain and mud, of which we have had a lot lately, and are easy to get on and off and clean up. The naturally derived rubber is far better than anything manmade. While not cheap, Hunter Wellies will give you years of use and you just might wish for inclement weather just to wear them!

Sleek and functional, but run big!
I purchased these for my husband to wear on his walks to work when it rains or snows. We live in Manhattan. These boots are great for him to wear with dress pants, and of course keep his feet incredibly dry. They aren't very insulated, but I'm sure thicker socks would take care of that. He typically wears a US 11.5-12. We originally ordered the US Men's 12 and it was HUGE... exchanged for a US Men's 11, which is still big, but we added an insert for comfort and better fit. Zappos was AMAZING throughout the whole purchase/exchange process... customer service and the speedy shipping are unbeatable!

Delighted Dad -
I got these boots to replace an old and beloved pair of Hunter's my father (85) has gardened in for years now, but which split along a seam. We tried a few other brands first, but they were all returned. He held out for another pair of Hunter's-- and who can blame him? I garden in a classic pair myself.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: No replacement for Hunter boot really --- nothing truly comparable

Cute, Cute, Cute -
Loved the boots but they were too big. I bought a 10 (women's) which is what I always wear and my foot was sliding around inside the boot. Had to send it back.

My boots arrived today. The light lining makes them easy to slide off and on, and light enough for warmer summer rain conditions. Paired with a heavy winter sock, they will be fabulous for a moderate winter. I typically wear an 8 1/2 and ordered a 9 at first, but that turned out to be too large, and far too wide. As some reviewers stated, the shorter height is much more appropriate with someone like me at a height of 5'4''. The quality of these boots is fantastic, but I may need arch support. The men's Festival short also offers a wider calf, and taller height than the women's version. Enjoy your shopping at Zappos, great Hunter quality is worth every penny.

Best garden boots ever!
I am so pleased with my Hunter festival boots! The only thing I wish they had was half sizes. If you are thinking about buying a pair and you are a half size like me be sure to order a half size up. Even though the boots are no longer made in Scotland I still feel they are worth the money. I would also like to add how helpful the Zappos staff has been. I will surely be back again!

These are so hot!
I wear a women's size 7-7 1/2 but the smallest size they make in these is a 39, or a US women's 8, but I looked into the fit of these, and unlike other Hunter boots, they don't run as large. I tried on a pair of women's 39s in a store, and they were HUGE, but these fit like the 38s! They're also WAY cuter on my thighs than the women's because I'm only 5'4" and they're shorter. They're only about mid-calf height on me. So hot with minis or shorts!

 | | I want you to know how pleased I am that my dad received his shoes so quickly! He got them today. I am amazed! He is a patient at the VA hospital in Denver. He is a WWll combat veteran who lost his leg after stepping on a land mine. Recently, he was taken to the VA hospital because no one at his present home could care for him. He was sick, malnourished, and to add insult to injury, could not use his prosthetic leg because it caused a sore on his amputated stump. To shorten a long story, he had no shoes with him with which to begin learning to use his new prosthesis. I ordered them Saturday as soon as I hung up talking with him and he received them today. Now he can begin the long journey to regain his stride and health. He will be returning to the east coast of Virginia to be with family. My sincerest thanks for helping my dad recover and come home to me. Barbara I. | | ~ Barbara I., September 29 2009
