Get them bigger!!!
Great shoes, but the screws keep coming out!!! Had them fixed twice (so we'll see how long they last). You need to order at least 2 sizes up. I wear a 9 1/2 and got an 11. Wish I got a 12. Spend a little extra and get a nicer pair.

Love the sound of these taps!
This is a great little tap shoe...soft, comfy and the tone of the taps is wonderful. My only regret is that I ordered my street size and I can see where 1 size or a half size bigger would last longer. Next year of class I will do that.

Very happy customer -
How easy and convenient. I was not sure of my size, so I ordered several pairs, knowing I could pick the right one and return the others. Worked out so well since I had less than a week until my tap class started.
These shoes are extremely comfortable, and sooo soft. I did have to buy a size up. I usually wear a size 7, but it was too short. The size 8 is perfect.
My whole dance class shops at Zappos and I am so glad I listened to them.

Good shoe--men's sizing still a bit off -
I'm a beginning tapper, and selected this shoe based on its looks and reviews. As far as looks are concerned, make sure you understand it is a leather shoe, and very pliable, so it won't look as "clean" as the picture may indicate. Per the instructions I ordered the shoe 1 1/2 sizes larger than my street shoe--normally I wear a 9 or 9 1/2, so I ordered an 11. The shoe definitely feels a bit tight, although I found the width to be perfect. It has stretched a bit over time, so it's comfortable, but I still wish it were a bit longer. That said, I've never bought tap (or dance) shoes before, and the "fit" may be tighter than I'm used to. Also, after about a week one of the taps was already a bit loose, but it was easy enough to tighten it with a small Phillips screwdriver (smaller than a standard size). Overall, I like this shoe, and it certainly looks better than I tap.

Great fit, great sound -
I love these tap shoes. They are SO comfortable and make a wonderful sound. I normally wear a ladys 6.5W. I ordered a 6.5W and it fit perfectly. I don't think you could go wrong with this shoe.

Great Tap Shoe!
This tap shoe is by far my favorite, mainly because of Leo's Ultratone Taps. They give an excellent, loud sound! Because of the split sole they are easy and comfortable to dance in. The sizes are true to street size, because while I wear a 7M, I got a 6.5W and it was a little snug at first. However, since the shoe is made of leather, with time and work it has stretched to fit my foot perfectly.

Order a half size up!
In browsing dance shoes online, I saw that a lot of dance shoes have special instructions for sizing, even here on Zappos.com. I saw these on a few other sites as saying "Order one half size up from street shoe" so I did (even though Zappos didn't tell me to), and they fit perfectly. I normally wear a 10 and these 10.5's are perfect. I have other Leo's that I've had to get a half size down, so research your dance shoes before you order them. The nice thing about Zappos though is if you're not sure, you return them for free, so you're not gambling with shipping costs. Thank you Zappos.com, you're super!

 | | Hi Fabulous Zappos Team: Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Barb and I just finished reading an absolutely delightful article about your company and corporate culture. I was so genuinely impressed that I wanted to send you all a note of thanks. Thanks for being the genuine article! My entire adult work life I have tried to promote a happy, customer focused work environment. While I have always been extremely productive from being authentic and caring, certain supervisors looked at my ways as being suspect and a little weird. Yes, it's true they felt a respectful, caring attitude was a waste of time and actually did not care if their current customers were satisfied. How they didn't equate that current happy customers equals monetary success now and later through referrals is still beyond me. They also never "got it" that their incredibly high employee turnover cost them dearly. Trained, happy people produce positive results. I worked with a company as a manager for the past 8 years that went through 29 managers in the 2 locations closest to me in my 1st two years of employment. Finally I decided to leave after not being able to effect positive change in my boss. Amazingly at Zappos the positive goes CEO down and back up - way to go! Being the eccentric optimist I am, I left my job and figured I'd have a great job in no time. Unfortunately, I am still looking for a positive, proactive position and was getting a little blue until I read the article tonight about Zappos. The great news is that my faith has been restored. There actually is a company that values what is really important and not just in a PR lip-service kind of way. I wish you all enormous success, big bucks, and happiness. I hope that your corporate culture spreads out like wild-fire to other businesses so that people like me who live it and believe it can experience it in our careers. If my husband wasn't off serving in Iraq, I'd probably be there beating down the door for a job, but it is in extremely bad form to sell the house and move away while the husband is out of the country for a year.
I most sincerely appreciate: Your Zappos core values that you really follow. Your supporting your employees to learn more, be happier
and spread happiness. And that you promote customer service, not the usual customer DIS-service people I often get on the phone. P.S. Here are 3 of my Barb-ism's 1. Manners and smiles are free - so everyone should have them. 2. Mr. Smiley face is the most handsome man I have ever seen (my apologies to any male models at your company) 3. You can never go wrong with shoes! Cordially, Barb Y. | | ~ Barb Y., August 25 2009
