Really like these shoes for running. They are so lightweight. They did feel a little tight across the balls of my feet the first time I wore them, but it's not a problem anymore. Would definitely recommend.

Super lightweight. I heard these shoes ran small so I ordered a full size larger. I'd say they run a size small and somewhat narrow. I loved this seamless, lightweight running shoe. It cushioned just right without any bulk. I have never seen a shoe that can compare. But ultimately they were too narrow for my Flintstone feet. With the help of awesome customer support, I found a similar style in men's. Men's standard is a women's wide. They shipped it the next day before I could get the first pair back in the mail. I ended up switching from Women's size 8.5, Nike Free 5.0 V4 to the men's size 6, Nike Free Everyday+ 2. And then the 6.5 because I wanted more wiggle room while working out. The Nike Free men's wasn't as lightweight in design as the women's, but still nice. And it doesn't seem too lightweight for street running. Each time, my shoes were at my house the next day even though I processed my purchase and exchanges as late as 7:00 pm EST. Thanks Zappos!

Best Athletic Shoe Solution - Do not expect to immediately go out on a long run with this "barefoot shoe" if you're used to regular running shoes, but if you want to do your feet and legs a favor, this is worth the time to adjust. Without a lot of shoe in the way, the muscles of your foot work for you, allowing your arch to work as it was intended; but to run comfortably, you'll need to go back to a "natural" stride and not the longer, heel-strike (which has no shock absorption other than that provided from the shoe) encouraged by high-tech shoes, a stride that contributes to plantar fasciitis, shin splints and joint pain. For non-runners, also a great shoe for everyday workouts, especially balance training, because you can feel the ground but are still protected (it feels like the shoe and your foot are one). The fit is snug, but not uncomfortable. (I ordered a half-size larger than my street shoe, which was perfect.) I wear mine without socks, and I'm ordering a second pair so I can alternate use. This has been my answer to foot pain, and I'll never go back to a traditional athletic shoe. To better understand what you're getting in a barefoot shoe, check out the videos on YouTube or read Chris McDougall's book "Born to Run." You need to train your foot muscles (barefoot running in the grass, yoga or pilates) and start slow to get the full benefit, and you need to relearn running, but if you do, you'll leave running injuries and foot pain behind. This is just one brand of many (but I think it's the best looking).

These shoes feel great, that is to say, you barely feel them on. They are not good for walking (the soles act like little suction cups), but when you get moving, they are light and airy. Your foot feels the ground and every bump. These are great for toughening up your feet. I would recommend no more than a few miles at a time a couple times a week and build up from there. If you are transitioning from traditional running shoes to barefoot, these are a nice segue. The color is great; you can find them in the dark and you stand out in the crowd.

This is my second pair of these. I wore through the last pair in about 8 months of daily use. I prefer them because they are so lightweight but still comfortable and slim. I am replacing these because the soles wore down on the last pair. I considered more expensive shoes, but these have a really nice 'rolling' motion as I'm walking. The only drawback with these shoes is the 'fingers' of the sole tend to pick up gravel, but this only became an issue once or twice. I am on my feet all day on tile floors and I enjoy the thought that these are working with my feet to make them stronger. I also wear these with dress socks at a half size larger than my regular shoe size.

I ordered these a half size larger than my usual size and they just fit. I am having a little problem with the shoe rubbing against my toe, so I think they are a little too narrow. I\'m surprised, as I have never had a problem when I order a 7 Medium. They are cute and comfy on the bottom and I wear tham when I walk outside (1 to 2 miles). I just have to make sure I wear a really thin sock. For running, I prefer a more solid running shoe.

Recently, I purchased a pair of the Nike Free 4.0 women\'s athletic shoe. She selected the hot red and gray colors. Definitely not colors that I would have picked but sheâs got to wear them. Diane is an avid exerciser and her old pair was just giving out. She has gotten a lot of compliments on her choice of colors and she loves the fit and comfort of the she. I think that that we would both definitely recommend this shoe.

I love these shoes; they have practically changed my life. I have difficult feet to fit. My feet are wide at the front, not fat but wide boned. I have a narrow mid-foot and heel, very high instep and high arch. Because of the wide front my feet almost always rub at the little or big toes (or both). My feet have always turned out and I have had pain in the balls of my feet. Whenever I tried to run in regular Nikes it felt like I had cement blocks on my feet. Then I bought the Nike Free 5.0. My feet are pointing much straighter, I cannot run much but I can go farther and faster than before, walking is much more pleasurable, and I use my entire foot in a free range of motion. This shoe moves with your foot, not the other way around. I thought I needed lots of padding and structure, but the opposite was true. I love that there are no seams or garbage to bother my feet, none of the stiff and padded tongues and heels. It is just very comfortable on my foot. I don't think it feels like walking barefoot, but my feet feel great. Note that the sizes seem to vary by color; maybe they were made in different factories. I normally wear an 8 in Nikes (7 in street shoes) and I ordered the 8 in the Gray/Pink. They were extremely narrow. I then ordered the 8 1/2 in the Light Blue and they were way too big. So, I ordered the 8 in the Light Blue and they were perfect. So, if it feels narrow, try another color.

I bought these because I have been having problems with plantar fasciitis, and noticed that the pain was a lot less if I went barefoot. So I though shoes with flexible, thinner soles that were more like being barefoot might be helpful. Also, I under-pronate and these are supposed to be specifically for neutral gait or those who somewhat under-pronate. Note regarding my comments: I was not intending these for running, but for everyday use and for walking. Also, I\'m heavy so these might be better for someone that\'s more of a lightweight.\r\n\r\nOn the plus side: \r\n-These are very lightweight, and very flexible. \r\n\r\n-They seem to have a decent amount of room in the toe area and the material in that area has some give to it which is a good thing. \r\n\r\n-They have a reasonable amount of cushioning without going overboard.\r\n\r\n-They seem like they would "breathe" well.\r\n\r\nOn the negative side: \r\n-These run very narrow and/or aren\'t "tall" enough in the area of the laces. Even going a full size up from my normal size, they are tight in the are of the laces and just above the toes, even with the laces completely undone. They were plenty long at that size and fit well in other aspects. Even with the insole removed they were still a bit too tight in that area. I\'m not sure what kind of foot these are supposed to fit. (I\'ve always worn Nikes almost exclusively but this time around can\'t seem to find a pair that fit properly, even though my older Nikes still fit well as do other brands.)\r\n\r\n-The arch support is very hard and seemed to hit my foot in a strange place that made it immediately painful. Taking out the insoles completely actually made them more comfortable (especially since that also made them less tight in the area of the laces). \r\n\r\n-Contrary to the description, these seem bad for under-pronators as I have the problem much worse with these shoes than with others. I can feel my foot turning out on the edge. Also, I can feel pressure and burning in the area on the outside edge of my feet where I have developed corns and callouses in the past due to the under-pronation.\r\n\r\n-These immediately made my plantar fasciitis much worse and more painful, even after only a short walk. This is in drastic contrast to going barefoot or wearing the flat and thin-soled indoor track shoes that I\'ve been wearing the last couple of weeks and which have really helped the PF.\r\n\r\n- They aren\'t the easiest to put on. One side of the tongue is actually sewn onto the shoe which feels a little strange trying to put them on at first. The tongue material is pretty thin, and the heel material isn\'t stiff at all (which could be a good thing), but this makes everything tend to sort of squash up when you put them on. There isn\'t a tab on the back to pull the heel back up after you put them on so you end up digging out/ pulling up the heel material and one side of the tongue after you put them on.\r\n\r\nCould be good or bad: \r\n-These are nothing like going barefoot at all, so if that\'s what you are looking for you should look elsewhere.\r\n\r\n-Some might think they look a little odd on your feet due to the curved last and asymmetrical lacing, but I think they look fine and like the selection of bright colors.\r\n\r\n- The height of the shoe around the heel area is lower than I\'m used to in sneakers and running shoes. I kind of liked that, probably because I\'m short and so they seemed to hit my ankle in a more comfortable places than other shoes. Some people might not like that, though. \r\n\r\n

These shoes are wonderful. I ordered my normal size and they fit fine even though I don't normally wear Nike brand shoes. My feet and legs feel great and the shoes are very lightweight. I wish that I had purchased a different color than white because they are very dirty after about a month. (I run everyday and part of my route is a gravel trail.) My only complaint is that rocks get stuck in the soles. And yesterday, I actually got a stick stuck in the sole as well.

I love these shoes -- lightweight, good stability, comfortable, and yet fashionable! I have a bad knee so I\'ve been looking for a workout shoe that has a relatively flat heel with good stability which is very difficult to find. My physical therapist recommended this shoe and I couldn\'t be happier with it. I do agree with several of the other reviews in that it does run a half size small. I ordered my original size at first and had to return them for a half size up. Would definitely recommend this shoe.

I bought these shoes because I wanted super-comfortable shoes to wear at Disney World. I saw them at the shoe store in the mall and knew I needed them because they were so light and flexible. The store didn't have my size; as a matter of fact the entire chain was sold out of this particular shoe. I came to Zappos hoping they had them and they did! I was so excited! When I got them, I took them out of the box and tried them on immediately; they were perfect! They matched (I got a black and natural gray pair) with everything and they kept me very comfortable the entire time we were at Disney. I am so happy I got these shoes; they are great walking and aerobics shoes and even better for running! Zappos, thank you so much! The ordering process was easy and I got my shoes shipped for free within three days of ordering them.

I originally bought this shoe in a size 10. They felt fine on my foot in the house, but when I went walking, they felt tight - like I needed a wider shoe. Since I had already worn them once, I called Zappos and asked if there was anything I could do, I needed a larger size. Zappos was great! They replaced the shoe, although the original color was not available, without question, they fit much better and I've been taking daily walks ever since. Awesome company and very comfortable shoe, they tend to run about 1/2 size smaller than you would expect.

Was searching for a no-sock, hot weather shoe that isn\'t my rather cushiony, chunky running shoes. These are perfect: keep my feet dry, lots of support, and that airy feel perfect for heat wear w/out socks. Will be great through the fall too, with jeans/capris. Probably not for running, really, unless you have NO foot/leg issues or are very slim :}.

Love these shoes! I'm 47 and today for the first time I can remember in my whole life I put on a pair of shoes new out of the box and they fit my feet perfectly! I have researched a lot about the natural stride we use for barefoot walking and tried to practice it, but modern shoes make it impossible. I go barefoot at home, but the rest of the day I have to walk in the heel-toe stride that causes so many foot problems. These shoes allow me to walk the way my feet were meant to, "forefoot strike," it's called. Love these shoes! (Just wish I liked the color selections better.)
