Great bag! Three weeks in China can't be wrong! I was able to carry 2 water bottles with me at all times in the side pockets, as well as a soft-sided journal, pens, pencils and a glue stick in the main and smaller compartments! When you have the strap around your neck you can tilt the bag so it becomes a very small portable writing surface. I believe at one point I even folded up my rain jacket so small that it fit in the main compartment. The camera fit also, as well as additional film. Since returning from China, I use it as a saddle bag to go riding. I pack my snacks as well as water bottles with me. One of my China travel buddies uses hers as a diaper bag! Go Overland.

I was disappointed in this purse. I was expecting more pockets as some reviews said. I was planning to use it on our cruise to Mexico and am considering a different purchase. I didn't return it because I had thrown the receipt away. I'm sorry I did. Durability is good. I've been using it for everyday use. The front pockets aren't large enough for too many items; the front flaps down.

Convenience galore! As with some other reviewers, I absolutely loved my old Donner bag which was made with different materials. I had one in a fuchsia color and wanted one in black. Even though I don't like the materials they use in the newer Donner bags as well, I love the design of this bag. I love that it has pockets on either side that you can use for water bottles. When I'm not using them for water bottles, I put my re-usable Chico grocery (stuff sack) bags in one side and my sun-glasses on the other side. My cell phone goes in one of the compartments under the front flap so it's always convenient to find. I also love the key fob; it makes it so much easier to find my keys. My purse rarely gets dirty at all, but when it gets dusty I can brush it right off. I also really like the size of the purse and I like having the strap cross over my body for extra security.

Love this bag! Exactly what I wanted. I love that I can access my cell phone and sunglasses without unzipping the main compartment; it's a great soil resistant fabric. I'm a landscaper and I'm flinging it here and there in the dirt and it still looks clean. Nice inside fabric detail. Shoulder strap is wide and comfortable. Good sized main compartment- the fact that it holds 2 water bottles is over the top.

I love Overland Equipment Donner~ I bought it for vacation and I could carry everything with me and still be comfortable and have my hands free. It would be nice to have a few extra small pockets in the main section to hold little things that get lost in the bottom.

Love this bag. I use it as a cross body style for all of my outings with my kids. The bag is very lightweight and can hold all the necessities that are needed when out with my kids (sunscreen, bottled water, tickets, cell phone, etc.).

Not quite right -
I will just say for the record that I LOVE Zappos! I ordered this bag for an upcoming trip to France, as an alternative to carrying a backpack. I was really looking for a smallish messenger bag, not a purse. But when it got here, it was just a little too much like a purse, and not enough like a messenger bag. So while I loved the color and features it was just a little smaller than I wanted. But if you're looking for a roomy purse: this is the one for you! The next size up in the brand was just too big. I called Zappos and did a quick exchange for the North Fact Calyx Se which is a little bigger. They expedited everything so I can get the other bag in time for my trip. Again, LOVE Zappos!!

Great Bag!
I ABSOLUTELY love this bag! I used it during my vacation in Florida to Disney, Sea World, etc. It was perfect. It held 2 water bottles and my other items while walking around the parks. It was helpful to wear it side ways and it was easy to access my items inside. My mom & sister ordered one as well.

I loved my old Donner bag, but decided to get one in black. Well, the design is still good, but in the years since I bought my last bag and another one as a gift, they have really started cutting corners on materials. The fabric and strap, even the hook-and-loop closure, are all much cheaper looking and feeling than in older versions of this bag. I still love the design and size, so didn't return it, but probably should have explored other options (Sherpani for example).

Great messenger bag!
I love the outside pockets--wonderful for a water bottle. Very comfortable, adjustable strap. The front organizer pocket is a little awkward to use--I'd rather a zipper pocket instead of a hook-and-loop pocket.

Donner Bag is the perfect bag -
This is actually my 2nd one I have purchased. This is the perfect everyday or travel bag. It holds quite a bit plus it's very compact. The adjustable strap is perfect for either wearing on your shoulder or putting across your shoulders for a more secure feeling. Love it!!

Great bag!
I am very happy with this bag. It is a good size and functions really well as a purse for me. I would prefer that the bottoms of the side pockets weren't made of netting (which is practical, I'm sure, but not my fave look), and that the inside of the front compartment wasn't a semi-ugly pattern that sort of shows even when it is closed. But even the looks I am generally happy with.

Fantastic everyday bag -
I purchased this bag to use as an everyday carryall-type bag and it has more than lived up to what was promised. It is tough, virtually waterproof and a great size for hooking over the back of my wheelchair. It has plenty of pockets for all my "stuff" that I want to be able to put my hand on without having to look and it is still light weight enough that when I have it over my shoulder it doesn't weigh me down. The colors are just great especially for this time of year. The only reason I only gave it a 4 instead of a 5 in looks is because I would love to see it in other materials, i.e. leather, suede, etc. I would be more than willing to pay a few dollars more for the wider selection of materials for the outside. Otherwise, it is as near perfect as you can get, in my opinion.

Overland Donner -
I got this bag to take to Panama later in the year. I haven't gone as yet, but have tried it out here in California: working, social stuff. The grey is nice; although the orange is gorgeous as well (I saw one at a department store). This actually holds a 1-L Sigg bottle without being bulky. Nice distribution of compartments. An easy bag to like. Good safety with travel documents. Nice cross body design works well.

Great lil traveler - I got this bag for a trip to Europe since I wanted a messenger style bag without screaming tourist. I was able to fit a large camera and my travel book in the main compartment with no problems. The only thing I would change is having to lift the flap to get to the inside pockets. I felt very clumsy at times. Would be nice if there was an outside zippered pocket. But I would buy it again if I had to.

This is not as well designed as I hoped -
The side straps from the outer pockets to the main strap unhinge about 50% of the time. Very annoying. The front flap has many pockets, but the velcro closure opens all the time which renders all the pockets as useless. I was hoping this item would give me a simple and somewhat fashionable organizing solution to carry me through a busy day. Very disappointing.

Lovin' my new bag -
This is my second Overland Donner. The old one was getting a bit tattered from years of use. I've been keeping my eyes open for a replacement bag...something similar, but different. When nothing appealed to me, I realized what I really wanted was another Donner! It's got a lot of space, as well as pockets to help keep me organized. Theres plenty of space on either side to carry water bottles, too. Great bag, nice colors.

Perfect for my trip to Europe -
I ordered the Overland Donner bag for my first trip to Europe. I wanted something that would let my hands be free for changing planes and when touring. My black Overland Donner bag and my black North Face Grace raincoat were the two best things that I could have brought on the trip! I thought the bag was going to be too small but, when you are touring all day you really don't want to be carrying too much. The inside of the bag fit my wallet and the raincoat (tightly rolled up)...the outside pockets kept my small travel journal, tissues, pen, and euro coins handy (for the bathrooms!)...also really appreciated the two water bottle pockets-great for water bottle on one side and umbrella on the other. Strap easily adjusted for cross-body wear for airport/touring or over the shoulder for dressier look at dinner. Only thing I would change is for the Overland label to be smaller and the strap to be black. LOVED this bag and happily recommend it.

I love this bag!
I love Overland Equipment, I already own the Placer bag and use it for vacations (the size is VERY handy!). I bought the Donner bag because we needed to bring some water bottles and extra supplies for this year's vacation. This bag is amazing; you can put water bottles in it without getting a really bulky look! I have the holly red one, but the picture does not look like the bag, it's almost more of a salmon color but looks amazing with the silver trim. Overall this is a great brand and worth the investment.

This is a fantastic bag! Bought it for a trip to Italy and it was perfect. Very lightweight and not nearly as bulky as a backpack. It even fit my big Canon Rebel XTi camera and two large zoom lenses. The front flap has several small zippered compartments that fit my money, ID, credit card and passport. The outside "end" compartments both fit water bottles. Highly recommend for any traveler.

Better than expected -
I loved this bag! I was looking for a bag that had some organization help. This is amazing without being totally dorky. I love that I can get my water bottle in it to go to the gym. The materials are very high quality and the strap is very smooth. The bag is less utilitarian looking than it seems. I am an orange lover and this is the perfect shade of orange. Not too deep or bright. I also find the size to be perfect. I highly recommend this bag, especially if you are tired of hunting for your things in your purse like I am.

So cute, but maybe not big enough for a diaper bag -
I bought this bag on the advice of other reviews as a diaper bag when I'm not using the stroller bag. I have to say that, although the bag looks great and is well constructed and designed, it's really not quite big enough for the diaper essentials. This would be a great bag for long walks, with the bottle pockets and pockets for other things, hooks for keys, etc.

Great medium bag -
I was looking for a great cross body bag for walking in the city and travel. This fit the bill. Its hard to really get a good look at it from the picture, and I was a bit apprehensive when I took it out of the box as it looked smaller than I expected, but it really does hold a lot.
My big pet peeve about most bags labeled 'cross body' is that the strap is long, but not long enough - meaning it may be long enough for a size 2 teenager, but not your average adult. This bag's adjustable strap does extend to a very good length, and the main bag can lie at the hip area or a bit lower.
The two size pockets are great for a water bottle and small umbrella and the back pocket holds maps and a decent sized travel book. The inside it roomy enough to hold a checkbook sized wallet, but its probably best to downsize to a smaller wallet to fit more items in.
It took me a while to get use to the front flap area, but it's great for pens and other items you may not need right away.
Overall, I'm VERY impressed with this bag. Great for travel and general use - especially on public transportation.
