I love this hat! I have a very short pixie hairstyle & have been looking for a stingy brim that didn't look too "mannish" on me. I got this one in tan. It looks great & is so comfortable, I can wear it all day.

Awesome looking hat. It fits really well and looks great. Be careful with the straw however as it will crease easy (for example, don't sit on it).

1) Zappos customer service is second to none. The item had to be exchanged twice to get the right one. First one was lightly soiled. Second one was constructed poorly. 2) The Castor hats are not built equally. Some batches are nicer than the others. With straw material, it's easy to spot the flaw in quality. Overall a great experience as Zappos make sure that the customer is totally happy with the purchase. This is the best online consumer company ever. I had such good experience that I bought another Brixton Gain Fedora. This one come in perfectly. This style is exactly the one Jason Mraz wears.

Brixton Castor is a nice hat. It is true to size as are most fitted hats, has a rich brown color to the straw, nice stingy snap brim that can be turned down, crown is a good height at about 4", nice full satin lining, hat band will vary in color so keep that in mind. All in all a good deal and Zappos shipped it out overnight.

Great day-time hat if you want to subtly stand-out. Perfect for Vegas...or Europe. Make sure to pair with the right sunglasses. Beware -> straw hats get deformed in a suitcase, so you must wear if traveling.

Amazing everyday hat -
I have had a lot of hats but this one is the best. It fits perfect, is extremely comfortable, and the style is like no other. The straw is the color I chose and I'm really happy with it.

Great Hat!
The hat is a little flimsy. This is good because it offers amazing comfort. On the other hand the hat isn't durable when handled carelessly. I have long hair and need these type fitted hats to be specifically sized. Many similar style hats come sized S/M or L/XL but these Brixton Castor hats offer an XL = 7 3/4 which is perfect for me. I was so satisfied with my first purchase of this hat in brown, I bought a second in black the very next month!

Big fan of these hats!
I am a big fan of Brixton's hats of all types. I own several, including another straw Castor in black. I bought this one to have another color option. The fit is true and the hat is very comfortable. I would recommend it anyone.

What's the difference???
I'm a huge fan of the first one that I ordered (Natural Straw). The fit was awesome and the length of the brim and height of the roll were perfect. Also the height of the crown was right. However, I then ordered the same hat, same size...except in Brown. I was rather disappointed. The role was completely different (both in terms of length and height) and the crown felt wider and not as tight. I'm left wondering if it is the same for all the brown or perhaps the one I got, does it vary from hat to hat, or is it more of a color-based difference. It has actually made me apprehensive about getting the black one, though I have to admit I'm very interested in it. The only saving logic for deciding to try your luck is Zappos excellent return policy. Best of luck!!

Not all Brixton Castors created equal -
I have the exact hat in two other colors and the one I purchased here was sized different and even looked different. I returned it once to get the right size but kept it even after I realized I didn't like the way it looked. It was noticeably taller than the other two hats I have. Despite not liking the hat, Zappos has great service and great return policy. I didn't return the hat because I already took the tags off and wore the hat a few times.

 |  | Hi Fabulous Zappos Team: Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Barb and I just finished reading an absolutely delightful article about your company and corporate culture. I was so genuinely impressed that I wanted to send you all a note of thanks. Thanks for being the genuine article! My entire adult work life I have tried to promote a happy, customer focused work environment. While I have always been extremely productive from being authentic and caring, certain supervisors looked at my ways as being suspect and a little weird. Yes, it's true they felt a respectful, caring attitude was a waste of time and actually did not care if their current customers were satisfied. How they didn't equate that current happy customers equals monetary success now and later through referrals is still beyond me. They also never "got it" that their incredibly high employee turnover cost them dearly. Trained, happy people produce positive results. I worked with a company as a manager for the past 8 years that went through 29 managers in the 2 locations closest to me in my 1st two years of employment. Finally I decided to leave after not being able to effect positive change in my boss. Amazingly at Zappos the positive goes CEO down and back up - way to go! Being the eccentric optimist I am, I left my job and figured I'd have a great job in no time. Unfortunately, I am still looking for a positive, proactive position and was getting a little blue until I read the article tonight about Zappos. The great news is that my faith has been restored. There actually is a company that values what is really important and not just in a PR lip-service kind of way. I wish you all enormous success, big bucks, and happiness. I hope that your corporate culture spreads out like wild-fire to other businesses so that people like me who live it and believe it can experience it in our careers. If my husband wasn't off serving in Iraq, I'd probably be there beating down the door for a job, but it is in extremely bad form to sell the house and move away while the husband is out of the country for a year.
I most sincerely appreciate: Your Zappos core values that you really follow. Your supporting your employees to learn more, be happier
and spread happiness. And that you promote customer service, not the usual customer DIS-service people I often get on the phone. P.S. Here are 3 of my Barb-ism's 1.
