The shoe pinches a bit in the toe, but much more importantly the half-rubber heel (only the front half of the heel is rubberized) means that on tile or slick floors, I get very little traction. I\'ve had to alter my gait a bit to keep from slipping when I walk on smooth surfaces.\r\n\r\nWouldn\'t recommend these unless you already have a few pairs of Florsheims and don\'t mind the wooden heel. It\'s also very noisy, if that bothers you. Enough so that my coworkers actually needle me a bit about how much noise my boots make on the parquet.

Elegant and comfortable -
These boots have a clean, simple design and are very comfortable. The seem to run a bit larger than the indicated size - a problem easily corrected by an insole insert. They seem to wear well.

Comment on Florsheim's Joaquin and Zappos service -
I would like to compliment Zappos on their excellent customer service. We decided to order a size larger based on other reviews. However, when we found they were too large and had to send them back and order a half size smaller than my normal size, then they fit perfect. Zappos sent my correct size and I received them within 24 hours. I wish this shoe had more options on width sizes.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Chapman looks interesting.

Big and Slippery -
The shoes look fantastic. Very handsome. Can be dressed up or down with ease.
The bad news is they are VERY large. I normally wear a size 10. My feet have something like .5-1 inch of play inside these boots. They should fit snugly. At least in my case, they've run large enough that I'm going to have to get a different pair of shoes. Once the leather stretches, it will be worse.
Additionally, the soles are SLIPPERY. I have been wearing them for a month now and still have to be extremely careful on stone, wood, and asphalt. I've nearly fallen over a half dozen times.
