The most comfortable and well-made dress shoes anywhere -
I bought my first pair of Marlon’s a month ago, and just ordered another pair in brown. I own ten pairs of Mephisto’s, so I'm used to comfortable shoes. But the Marlon’s are, for my feet, the most comfortable of all. They are also my first pair of Norwegian welt Mephisto’s, and now I understand why they have such a good reputation.
The mediums fit my rather wide feet very well. I wear a 14, and the length is just right too. I'm very impressed with the construction and materials of this shoe. It looks like it'll last a very long time, and they can be resoled when needed.
The styling is a great compromise that makes them look good with a business suit or with shirt sleeves and tie.
Overall, I can't say enough about these shoes. They exceeded my high expectations for them, and I recommend that anyone who needs a shoe like this (most of us, in other words) try a pair on.

Nicely made, but too wide -
The construction of this shoe is simply outstanding. However, it is way too wide - feels like you're wearing a football (American) around your feet. The narrow version of the shoe has a better fit, but my big toe butts up against the tip of shoe, so I have to go one half size bigger. Overall, just doesn't fit right. The airflow insole is an example of over-design - it makes the shoe feel slippery. It's too thick in the toe area, so it leads to ugly wrinkles. The style makes it neither a dress shoe nor a casual shoe. Bottom line, a lot of money for what's definitely a high quality shoe, but very uncomfortable to wear. Looks better than it feels.

Very fast delivery. This is my fourth pair of Mephisto shoes; previous shoes have been outstanding. As a dress shoe for suite & tie, the "tag" is a distraction from the good leather used. I requested a 9B, wore them to work today, and the shoe received: heel width is acceptable, but there is too much wiggle/slip in the front, even when laces are very tight. For this price shoe, a "B" width requested should be honored and not hedged with an N (B-C), which in this case is more likely a "C".

Great Shoes!
This is my fourth pair of Mephisto Marlons. I have used them for the last seven years. They are one of the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned. One particular advantage for this model is that is available in two widths, Medium and Narrow. I use the narrow.

Have had these shoes for a year now. Fantastic. Lived up to the hype and then some. My only knock? The Mephisto label. Do you really want/need a tacky green label on such a nice pair of shoes. It limits their utily as a proper dress shoe.

I own six pairs of Mephistos and will buy more - no other shoes, Tods etc, are as comfortable. You would have to go to a bespoke shoemaker (Lobb or similar at more than twice the price) to find a comparable shoe. Plus they last forever because. Mephisto does a great job of resoling.

I have owned two pairs of Marlon's for the past several years. These are by far the most comfortable dress shoe I have owned. I have a difficult time wearing other shoes. I wish Mephisto would make a dress show that was formal enough to wear with a suit.

My experiene with Marlon By Mephisto -
I have Plantar Faciitis and needed a dress shoe that would provide very good cushining and shock absorption. Marlon really delivered and I have lot less pain when I am walking. Besids, it also is very dressy and have been complimented by others. However, it is pricy due to most likly import tax.

Most comfortable dress shoe I've found.
As a physician I am sometimes on my feet 14 hrs a day with lots of walking while rounding on patients and these shoes have been the most comfortable solution I have found. Proper size is important; I typically wear 9 1/2 medium and in this shoe 10 narrow is the proper size. Craftsmanship is commensurate to the price. Definitely expensive but haven't found a cheaper alternative that is as comfortable and durable. Have a pair of Ecco's that were about half as much money. They have been as durable but not as comfortable. Have tried dress Rockports in the past that were initially quite comfortable but wore out fairly quickly, and became less comfortable as they wore out.

For pronating feet, this Mephisto shoe has delightful comfort. It's expensive, but highly recommended as a salve to sore feet.

Great shoe: Worth the price.
This shoe is both light and comfortable. With heavy socks, an A width can wear it. It comes in black also, and I am thinking about getting that color. Great with slacks or sport coat.

Worth every penny!
It is hard to believe how good these shoes feel. I have owned a pair of Mepipisto "Zeus" sandals for five years. I have subjected them to year round abuse in brutal environments from Mexico to Maine. Bullet proof! And super comfortable! Last month I decided to give Mephisto dress shoes a try. The Marlon is a beautiful shoe. They are as comfortable as the sandals! They require no break-in. I could not ask for more from a shoe. Once again the old addage proves true...."You get what you pay for". I wholeheartedly recommend Mephisto footware.

As someone who struggled to find a comfortable work shoe, my journey ended when I bought my first pair of Mephistos. The comfort is unmatched, even by Clarks, etc. The feeling was like walking on pillows, & these shoes last! I wouldn't consider any other shoe for the no. 1 concern of comfort, followed by style.
