First ordered my size (8.5) in wide. Way too small! But Zappos made the switch to a whole size larger very easy. Very comfortable! Slightly orthopedic looking, but only if you look hard. Wore them on a trip to NYC with lots of walking, and was very glad to have them. Kudos!

After 3 years of off-and-on wear, the center soles of my black Propet Mary Jane Walkers started to shred, as if I'd stepped in a large patch of glue that was tearing off the rubber. Happened first on one shoe, then both. The uppers still look good and the shoes are still comfortable, but since they look tacky I can now only use them for gardening, etc. Before they were damaged they were my main travel shoe, great for walking around foreign cities.

These shoes were just as advertised. They fit correctly with plenty of room in the toe. There wasn't much arch support which I need and there isn't very much cushioning, but it did allow room for my orthotic and that solved the problem. It is nice to find a nice looking shoe which allows for an insert.

These shoes look like your basic classic mary jane, and that's a good thing. The other positive is that this shoe adds about 1" to my height. The sizing runs small, however. I am a true 8.5 and my toes were crammed all the way to end of the shoe in that size. The sides of the B-width shoe were narrow and pinched, and I don't even have wide feet. Additionally, the shoes were shallow and my feet felt like they were going to pop out the top. With different sizing this shoe might work out okay.

Serious Walking Shoe with Some Style -
I seriously dislike wearing athletic-type, lace-up shoes for walking since I am almost always dressed too nicely for them and I think they look ugly with my attire. These Mary Jane Walker shoes by Propet allow me to look feminine and pretty but at the same time they are still a serious, carefully constructed shoe for walking in. I ordered them in black, and they are very comfortable and sensible for any time you are going to be on your feet a lot.
One thing, while the strap is plenty long enough, the velcro could extend over a greater length of the strap. I have very high arches AND insteps and can barely get the velcro parts to meet. One could, if needed, add more velcro to the strap...but that is a bit of a pain to do. Other than that, they're perfect. I really like them. If you don't have high arches and insteps, you won't have a problem. VERY COMFORTABLE!

I have not broken in these shoes yet. I think they will be comfortable. Some of the reviews said this shoe ran large, so I bought a smaller size, but then had to send back for a larger size.

Propet and Zappos come through for me again, shoes wide enough to fit my orthotics and still look good.

The most comfortable shoe I have ever worn!!!
I was having a lot of foot and back discomfort and as soon as I started wearing these shoes the pain went away.

It's really hard to find shoes wide enough for my feet. This shoe comes very close, and its soft leather is flexible enough to make up the difference. At the same time, I can wear it for semi-dressy occasions - it has a pretty design.

These shoes were great...for the first month. I live in Chicago, so winter can treat shoes poorly. Still, after about a month, the outer leather began to crack where the shoes bend. It's not near a seam, so this isn't fixable. Other than that they're comfortable and have great traction. Too bad they won't last even one winter.

Love this shoe -
I love this shoe. It is very comfortable, except for a seam at the heel that caused a blister. I used moleskin over it and the problem was solved. I had to send back the first pair, as they were too big. Ordered half size smaller, and narrower shoe and it was perfect.

I bought these shoes for my mother who is non-ambulatory and has one inverted foot from a prior stroke. The shoes slip on smoothly and look charming. Also, the adjustable strap accommodates the bit of edema that accumulates during the day.

This is the first non-tennis shoe my 24 year old daughter has been able to wear over her braces. She loves them. It's hard to rate comfort etc because she can't feel them, but she was so excited when they slipped on over the brace. She wore a dress with tights for the first time in years. To anyone who wears mafos, try these.

My own insoles -
I wear prescribed orthotics, so I am always looking for shoes with removable insoles. These shoes worked out fine and look very nice. I can wear them any outfit. I have owned Propet before, and I will again.

I was able to work on my feet all day from the first day I used the shoe. I did need to add an orthotic for some cushioning.

Versatile and comfortable shoe -
I needed a shoe that could go to work and wouldn't kill my feet and this shoe filled that niche in my closet. People comment on its good looks, but with my arch support inside and heel pads, it fits very well. It would be perfect if the heel was a little narrower.

These hikers are some of the best I've owned. I put them on out of the box and went for a quick four mile hike off trail. No real break-in required, although I know they will 'loosen up' quickly as all Columbias do. I walk a minimum of four miles daily, most off trail, in northern Minnesota woods country. Columbia has some of the best boots I've found that provide light weight, consistent fit, durability and cold weather insulation (which I require). This is one of them. I also have owned very good boots from North Face, Timberland and Oakley, all with good qualities, but none of those have been as consistent in providing my requirements as Columbia. A note on Columbia hiker sizing: In my experience it is consistently accurate. They do not run large or wide. They run accurate. If you wear your boots with any kind of extra insole pad or heavy duty socks (or both), as I do for very cold and rough country hiking, I would recommend going up one size over your normal shoe size.

Nice shoe, but I'd prefer a buckle -
I really like this shoe. I purchased both the black leather and navy nubuck. I would like to see the navy in leather instead of the nubuck, which tends to look worn after one season. Also, I wish the company would use buckles instead of velcro for a dressier, polished look. Overall, however, these shoes look well with jumpers, skirts, and pants, accommodate my orthotics, and are comfy enough to wear to work, where I am on my feet most of the day!

The best! I have thin legs and ordered a half size down (9.5) and they are perfect. Stretchy enough to accommodate tucking your jeans in, but not too big to wear with just sock or tights. Good quality leather and very, very comfortable. I wear them all the time in the winter in NYC and find them to be warm and walkable.

Beauties! I climbed hills all over Italy in these Mary Janes, and then wore them to dress-up dinners! They're very pretty, comfortable and a real blessing in airports. I'd definitely order them again.

Finally they fit...
I have a small foot, but an extremely wide foot. My whole life I have walked in uncomfortable shoes. Propet have a wide range of sizes, widths and styles. Now, I’m comfortable.

Propet Mary Jane Walker is a great shoe!
Bought this shoe after wearing the Propet Tour Walker for the past year both pre-surgical and post-surgical. I ordered the Mary Jane in 4E width to accommodate a wrap or support on one foot. Needed something dressier than a sneaker! The Velcro strap allows for the difference in each foot. Great heel height. Would buy again in other colors.

Comfort at Last!
These shoes fit great and are very comfortable. Wearing them really reduces my heel pain. They're not quite as stylish as one might like, but hey, you can't have everything.
One minor caveat: if you have feet that tend to swell in heat, etc. and/or high arches, these may not be the shoes for you, because although the strap is plenty long, the velcro does not extend as far up the strap as it could in order to accommodate a higher arch/swollen foot.
