I do believe this had to have been the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever put on my foot. The material was stiff, the footbed had no cushion, the rubber sole was hard and there was a strange odor not smelling like a new pair of shoes. There was a poor effort to tape the flattened lid on the shoebox and old tissue was stuffed in the toes of the shoes. I spend a lot of money with Zappos and did not appreciate the condition of obviously someone else's return! However, customer service is still unbeatable and I received the Josef Seibel's the next day to replace these yard sale shoes. If the lid is taped with several layers of scotch tape and the shoes smell, then that's the pair they sent me!

I love these shoes! They are really comfortable, and as an added bonus, they are cute. My only problem has been fit. (This is not unusual for me.) They are now listing a half size which I found fits me better. Which is the "beauty" of Zappos. I can order two sizes, and send back the one that doesn't fit.

These are great little shoes. I walk miles every day and while these shoes aren't as comfortable as Mephisto Lennys, but they look a lot more stylish. I also can use them for biking.

This is an extremely comfortable shoe but it seems to run a little large - it does have an adjustable strap across the back to take up the slack though. If you wear a half-size, I would order smaller rather than larger.

Not That Great for the $$$
I thought these would be great shoes to wear with or without thin socks. They would be uncomfortable with bare feet, since the leather is not that soft. Also, it seems like they would make your feet sweat. No arch support. Can accommodate orthotics. The fit and comfort does not seem to justify the price--they seem ordinary.

Much rounder than I expected -
This shoe looks trim in the photo but was quite wide and round in person. It also fit a little large and even the adjustments on the velcro straps didn't make up the difference. I like the Mephisto brand, so was a little disappointed in this shoe, which I returned.

Comfortable with an insole and socks -
I was attracted to this shoe because it's so much easier to keep smooth tan leather looking nice than tan suede. There's no arch and no cushioning in this shoe, but that's readily solved with a good insole. The shoe has enough depth to take a cushioning sports insole, but the rather startling thing is the seam across the top of the foot that joins two pieces of leather isn't smoothly joined on the inside; there's a prominent ridge that is painful with bare feet. So this shoe definitely needs socks (at least for me). It's roomy enough to accommodate thin socks.
