If you think they are not comfy, don't return it right off the bat. They are not comfortable fresh out-of-box. They need to be properly broken in. Wear them every day, 7 days a week. I promise you, after the first week you'll love them! All my shoes are in size 9 (US). Following the instruction, US9 = UK8 for men. However, UK8 is a little big for me. So, UK8 and US9 are not equivalent. If it's the case, get the Dr. Martens' insole. Perfectly fit now! Enjoy your durable Dr. Martens!

Very happy with these boots. I\'ve had them about a month now and they are nice and broken in and very comfortable. I normally wear a size 11 or 11 1/2 so I bought the size 12 and they were a little big on me, but after I added some of those gel workboot inserts and Dr. Scholl\'s heel stops (I had to use Shoe Glue to get them to stick), the boots fit much better. I also wear nice thick cotton socks that I bought at CostCo, which helps, too. But overall I am very satisfied with the style and comfort, and they provide more than adequate arch support. Very satisfied, and of course Zappos\' free overnight shipping and great customer service can\'t be beat.

Apparently Dr Martens have moved some of their manufacturing oversees to the Orient; these are not the boots DM used to make. The soles and general construction are sub-par. The wearability is poor, but that is not evident until after wearing them for a short period of time, at which time you cannot return them. I have been wearing this style of DM for 15 years and this pair does not feel like it will last 1 year. What a letdown.

Bought these boots for my husband, was upgraded to Next Day Air shipping, what a great surprise! They fit great and have great ankle support. Very happy with our purchase!

Excellent boots. My first pair of Dr. Martens ever. I purposely avoided the brand during the "90's craze" and simultaneous Seattle "grunge" music scene, although I was always a big fan. I purchased 2 pairs of Skechers Boots instead, to avoid following the trend-of-the-day, unlike the rest of my friends during that time. The Skechers lasted me 17 years! But now I get to wear my "Doc's" in a time when all the mall-rat teeny-boppers are all wearing black Chuck Taylors in order to be "different". The soft rubber soles on these boots are very comfortable as are the leather uppers and cushioned top. I expect these boots to outlast the Skechers. (They better considering how much more they cost in comparison!) We'll see...

The shoes are really comfortable and durable. I choose this style boot for that simple reason. I do a lot of walking for work and tend to be standing for long periods of time. I dress business casual and these fit the bill just fine with khakis and everyday jeans. Hope this helped.

These Dr. Martens are great. I bought them for motorcycle riding, and they really protect my feet and ankles and have a good grip on the road. They felt a good bit larger than the US size I ordered, but I added an insole and am wearing thick socks with them. Better for our chilly Montana mornings!

Great shoes!
Got my first pair of these eight or nine years ago, and when the soles cracked and water started seeping in, it was time to replace them. Got another pair, identical to the first, and they're still wonderful. Slight difference in feel and look from the ones made in the UK but still a great pair of shoes.

Long time fan!!!
Have owned Docs since 1990s. They are a bit tough to break in at first (1-3 days), but then they almost "mold" to your foot. I can get 2-4 years of nonstop, everday wear from each pair. The bargain is fantastic. Only drawback at all is if you are not a boot wearer - be prepared. First, the high back sort of digs at your ankle, but it's padded (the 1-3 day thing I talked about). The other thing is there is NO ventilation at all. If you have an athlete's foot problem, maybe steer clear. Too keep clean, I soak them every so often in soap solution or Pine Sol, then let them dry and put a thick layer of the "shoe dubbin" (clear polish). Love ‘em!!! And hey, Morrissey does, too!

Like the other reviewers, I am going on my third set of Dr. Marten's Salvadors. I absolutely love them and wear them everywhere. They are comfortable, stylish, and very durable. I highly recommend these to anyone wanting a low-quarter boot with good ankle support and comfort.

Docs -
I have been a fan of Dr. Marten's for almost 10 years, and these are the third pair I have worn. As always, the look is sweet, especially how the black compliments the gold stitching. Comfort is nice and gets better as the shoe is broken in. I would recommend this boot for any one, as it is flexible looking to fit all styles and occasions.

Great boot this is my 5th pair. They last for years!
This is my 5th pair of Dr. Martens over many years. This product only comes in whole sizes and not 1/2 size for US. I wear a size 9 1/2 us so I order the smaller size available, size 9. A little uncomfortable for the first few wearings until they break in and stretch then they are perfect. Unfortunately this time the fit of the new boot was larger than in the past. I am hoping when they break in they don't become too loose. I thought after all these years I had the system down. Maybe they changed how they make them??? Time will tell.

3rd pair of Docs...
Predictable fit and comfort, though quality of fit and finish can be a little spotty. But the sole is worth any minor annoyance - feels great, wears great. I use the Doc Martens inserts to adjust down a 1/2 size, and to get some additional arch support. All in all - very happy.

I have been wearing Doc Martens for over 20 years, they wear very well, look good and are comfortable. You will not catch me in anything else. Zappos is a great place to order shoes, placed my order at 7am and they arrived the next day.
