My five year old loves these shoes! They're comfortable, good-looking school shoes also great for climbing and running. They seem to run true to size. The only problem with them is that they've got a sticky fastener, making it challenging for my child to get them on by himself and nearly impossible for him to tighten without my help.

My son is on his second pair of these! He HAD to have the same shoes again. He uses them for hiking, playing, running, everything and they just keep on ticking. Very rugged, and he would not wear them if they were not comfortable. Also easy on and off.

These shows are awesome. My 7 year old son wears them everyday, and they have hold up wonderfully. He outgrew his last pair, and we were so happy with them, we are reordering the same shoe in the next bigger size. Fits true to size, holds up well

I purchased these for my son at the beginning of the 2008/2009 school year (about this time a year ago) and they lasted the entire school year and would have lasted into this school year had my son not outgrown them. We replaced the shoe laces once. He wore these every day for an entire year. The shoes still look to be in good condition. We have never had a shoe hold up like this for any of our children. This was the first Merrell we had purchased and it was worth it. This exact shoe is not available in our son\'s current shoe size, otherwise we\'d have ordered it again. Instead, we ordered another Merrell that is very similar.

I bought these shoes because my six year old still can\'t tie his own shoes. The clasp on the stretch laces are a bit tough to work.

Awesome shoe for my rambunctious 3 1/2 year old! He can put them on all by himself and he can tear through the wet grass, dirt, and they have great traction on the playground! Great shoe... they clean easily and look good after a rough day of play!

Easy on!
My son really likes these shoes. He can put them on quickly and he really likes that the pull string makes them snug. Wish they had them in darker colors.

My sons love Merrells, this pair was just a little uncomfortable at the end of the day for the first few days-but now they are broken in and he loves them. Worth the $

Disappointing -
These shoes look great but do not work for a kid to get his shoes on alone. The toggles are too tight and I could barely get his foot in the shoe even though they were a size larger then he normally wears. Toggle in photo is not an accurate image of how the shoe looks.

When I filled out the return form online last night, I also ordered another pair in 4E and it arrived at 3:30 pm today! WHAT SERVICE!!! I will be keeping this pair as they fit great!
